Hey there ive been meaning to pick up an instrument for awhile and since its my holiday's im thinking of starting now.

Im greatly interested in the harmonica, its small and i heard its quite an easy instrument to play but hard to master..

Is there anyone here that can give me a hand regarding starting up? What kind of harmonica i should buy and where might i take lessons...

I have asked around and apparently no one teaches.

Static background sound when using WMP

Hey i get some kind of static hissing sound when i play music on Windows media player, im currently using WMP 10. Ive checked my speakers and sound card there are all in order, when i play a mp3 file with another programe

i.e. VLC player/Itunes/Media player classic the sound is fine....no static distortions for said programs.

Anyone having the same problem? is so how do u fix it?

ok i dont know where to make a complaint im just so pissed of right now...like 5 days back my internet was fine slow but still at least it did not effect my games like COD4(50~70ping) RA3 and etc... but recently my ping is F***king terrible like 500~900!!!surfing/gaming/Dling.... speedtest.net doesnt even load for me....i live in TTDI area and my ip is in the 11x.xxx.xx.xxx area at 8am~ 6pm ish at night its 60.xxx.xxx.xxx still its both amazingly terrible..im just raging now but i really cant take it anymore.Im mainly pissed about my CoD4 Ping cuz i play on9 competitively....

Im running on a 1mb line

i wana ask a few things..

1.What are general good ip's?
2.Could it be that my PC is the prob? a viral/spyware prob?(if so how can i fix it?)
3.would calling Screwmyx and doing their balls in with verbal abuse be of any help?(i read that some formers called them with no avail )
4.Is anyone else having this prob( i know stupid question but yea...)
5.anything i can do to get out of this nightmare?

Guys does the catalyst 8.12 crash your Direct x on XP SP2? cuz im having one HELL of a headache with my current 4870 (SPECS ARE ON MY SIGGY)

Firstly i would like to say i have the latest 9.0c DX drivers ill run u guys trough my story

1.Got new rig (again refer to siggy)
2.reformatted my HDD with ORIGINAL XP SP2
3.Installed all drivers but as for my GPU driver i installed the latatest 8.12 instead of the one from the box and DX 9.0c from http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html
4.Found out that CCC dont work without 2.0 net frame DLed that and installed it CCC now works(boost my fan speed to 50%)
5INstalled games (all original) CnC3 TW and CoD4
6.updated all games then continue to play them...
7.CoD4 crashes when changing resolutions Error message states "Direct X has encountered an unrecoverable error please refer to DX logs on how to fix it"
8.Tried CnC3....it crashes and says that ii dont have the latest DX drivers...i then check dxdiag but it says i have 9.0c

9.Thought if i restarted my PC it should all be ok so i did...after restarted i tried the game....same thing happend so i reinstalled the AATI driver and DX9.0c restarted and tried again.....SAME THING happend....when i restart i CAN enter for example COD4 or CnC3 and play but when i exit and reenter any of the game in what ever order it crashes....what im trying to say is right now if i want to play anything i have to restart my PC so that DX is not "crashed" i also noticed when im in "Crashed mode" i cant take screenshots it says i have Clipboard error or some other mem error and when i use Modzilla some times words are blacked out or patches of the screen page is black.. when i change wall paper it does not change but instead i when i mode a folder it becomes like an eraser erasing my wallpaper into a default state of green.

10.Got pissed off i cleaned my DX to 8.1 with a program.....reinstalled 9.0b and see did it work or not....(NO IT DINT) so i reupgraded to 9.0c still f*cked up
11.Reformatted my PC with QUICK format when it was done first thing i did was check DXdiag it says i have 9.0c blink.gif wtf?
12.reinstalled DX9.0c/AIT 8.12 /CnC/CoD4 played awhile randomly changing reso's alt tabbing trying to trigger the crash.....dint crash!!so was happy thought i was done....the next day i tried playing CoD4...switched profiles my profile runs on 1280x1020 my bros profile runs on 800x600 when i switched the profile CoD4 crashed and the something happen again
13.Surfed and surfed and surfed for a solution used found some forum that said it might be a memory leak prob.. so i used "memtest" to test my ram i ran it for about 7 hours No problems....
14.downgraded to cast 8.11 still dint help =.=''
15.Figured this should be either a hardware prob or somehitng uncompatable with ATI and my motherboard or something... i highly doubt that its my GPU harware prob as i bought it from bryanyeo87 just last week
16.Started posting on AMD/ATI Radeon™ HD 4000 Series Discussion V5 for help rclxub.gif

i.I have reinstalled uninstalled downgraded upgraded my driver various times i even got the driver from proper places
ii.I used QUICK format and reinstalled everything bla bla bla
iii.My DX 9.0c works on FIRST RUN of the games and crashes when i change any graphical settings in a game Causing the entire DX to crash making me unable to run any other game/take screen shot/make funny patches appear on my Screen/reso probs
iv.Restarting my PC is the only way to kick my DX back to normal for like...err one gaming run then (iii) happens

THIS IS MY STORY ANYONE OUT THERE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

PS: if this cant be resolved im considering selling this card of and getting a XFX 9800GTX+ cry.gif i really really hope it does not come to that...assuming its the CARD prob of cuz....

Question about reformatting

Hey im running on ORI XP SP2 i have been having some Direct X problems "http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=872905&hl=Direct" if u have some solutions please help me there...

BUT!! my question here is is there a diff in reformating the (quick) way or the normal way... i tried the quick way and its so much faster then the normal one which reformats like 2 hours( my 500gb HDD) i heard that the quick format and the normal one there is no diff as it just recognizes the HDD as a blank one cuz when i did the quick format my DirectX was 9.0c BEFORE i quick formatted but after i quick formatted it was still 9.0c not the SP2's base 8.1 DX driver

HELP!??!

Hey i just got my new Rig and reformatted it with an XP 32bit Original i then continued to install all my basic drivers and the latest ATI Catalyst Driver i DLed "directx_nov2008_redist.exe" and "DirectX SDK 2008" installed and restarted the PC but the games i installed such as CnC3 TW and CoD4(Original) still keep requesting that i install my Direct X and crashes the error goes something like

"Direct X 9 is not installed please install the latest direct X 9 and make sure your GPU is uptodate bla bla bla" i have even tried installinting the DX9 from my COD4 CD restarted and restarted my PC but it still does not work.... i uninstalled ALL the DX and and games then REINSTALLED them but still it does not work....can anyone gimi a hand?

PS: i somehow cant control my Resolution via my ATI driver now even if i try to force it to a diff reso. my current reso is 1920x1080, cant seem to change to to anything else

Hey guys i plan to build a 2.5k~3k rig hopefully under 3k.....my current LCD is a 22"
I want to play my games on a general High settings and with a reso of 1680x1050 or 1920x1080

I do want to try OCing with this rig would be my like "first time trying OC" rig so if possible allow it to be OCable?If not then general gaming would be fine....

hows this for the specs

RAm= 2gb value x2/or what should i get?

Question about warranty for the PS3

Hey guys i plan too get my PS3 soon... i know that so far sony malaysia will not provide warranty for PS3's here but Sony SG does,so i want to know if anything goes wrong that i can just pay the courier charges for the PS3 too the service center in Orchid road or do i have to mail it too a friend/familly member and ask them too settle the warranty for me then mail it back and will they be any taxation on the the PS3 since its an electronical product as it passes customs. and when i register my console should i register with my current address or with an SG address...i have a cousin that stays in JB but studys in SG so if i mail it too him and ask him too bring it too SG for me to claim the warranty will i be incured any tax charges and i have a friend going 2 SG soon should i get the console there or its better too buy it in malaysia....generraly i wana know the charges if i do mail it there and back...and how much roughly will it be to mail the PS3 2 SG its about 8KG if im not wrong
