Write Protection on Removable Disk

I don't know why, but there is suddenly a write protection problem each time i try to delete some photos off from my SD card which i am reading it using a card reader. How do i disable the write protection.

Not only that i cannot delete my photos, there are detections of a trojan and a virus which i cannot delete it because of the write protection.

After hitting the gym and working out for 2 hours or so, i will go for lunch. After lunch, i go for sauna. Anything wrong with this ?

Also, after sauna (assuming that gym was before lunch and sauna), which would be better, cold or warm shower ?

Removing Nero 7 Premium

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.

Previously i had encountered no such problem until it occurred. Whenever i pop in the installer CD and start the installer, it will run in Japanese language instead of English. I am not using Japanese language under the Regional and Language Option in Control Panels.

After Googling around, i came to aware/suspect that the possible culprit for this is Microsoft Applocale which i had installed way before i tried to install Nero 7 Premium. But as far as i know, i have to personally set Applocale to target which programs or executables to run in the specific language which i want. I didn't not specify Applocale to do anything with the installer.

I can't exactly remember what i did, but i managed to make the installer to run, only to find it installed halfway and it crashed. And under the Add or Remove Programs panel, Nero 7 Premium is registered there. I cannot get it to uninstall nor can i get to overwrite the files by installing over it. Even after removing Applocale, each time i insert the installer CD, the installer will run in Japanese language.

I tried to install Nero 8 or the newer versions, but it requires me to remove the older version of the program before i can start.

So i need some expert help in removing/uninstalling this stubborn program.

Removing Vista

Alright, this is the scenario.

I had installed Vista 32-bit while keeping my previous XP, while allows me to multiboot. Then, i went on to install another copy of Vista which is 64-bit. Therefore, at the moment, during the multiboot page, i have three options to choose.

So now, i wish to remove the 32-bit version of Vista and removing the option for it during the multiboot page. How do i do this ?

Say, if i go ahead and reformat that particular partition where my Vista 32-bit is located, it should wipe out the OS, right ? However, my main concern if i do not proceed with proper procedures, i am afraid that in the multiboot page, the redundant option for Vista 32-bit would be left behind.

Will it still show 3 options after i wipe out the partition where that Vista 32-bit is located ?

Do you remember your youth? Along with the passing of years and the maturing of thoughts, those beautiful dreams, the simple joys are leaving us behind, step by step.

Within the boundless jungles, the Mayan Civilisation was obliterated; along the ancient Silk Road, the kingdom of Gao Chang vanished. Mankind's progress is based on the disappearance of the old. Walking along this path, one thinks of the old saying "Spring flows away with falling flowers and water" and the sentiment "Life does not return to youth"...

After reading the above, what do you think? Please write an essay based on the phrase "path based on transience". Share the stories of you and your peers, express your true feelings, or push forward your viewpoints.

Loli has three good points: small body, soft waist, and easy to push over.

I write this essay for those nameless and named hikkikomori who ceaselessly struggle to retain their otaku status (0).

Before I can personally demonstrate my commitment to the border-realm of moe (6), I must admonish the successors to our otaku heritage.

In my heart burns an unquenchable searing fire of desire, which continues to fuel my hopes of the future.

Perhaps tomorrow you will no longer exist. But I will smile.

Smiling, I appreciate the fleeting transience of loli. Smiling, I open my arms to embrace and welcome a more harmonious day.

(0) This essay uses Chinese equivalents of Japanese concepts, which I have translated back into their Japanese sources for clarity. In this case, it used the character for "residence", which is the roots of "otaku". The Japanese "moe" kanji is used in its as-is form. "loli" is mostly just spelt out in English.

In a final analysis of the essay, the textbook authors seem to think the essay is about some fantasy game characters or fantasy novel, and applauded the innovative way by which the writer approached the issue by combining his "interests" with the academic.

Recommend me a Quad-core rig for RM3-4k budget

Rather than creating another thread, i'll just re-use this one to seek for recommendation.

I am looking for a multimedia / heavy multitasking and a bit of gaming system.
If possible, i want Q6600 + 8800GT together OR 8800GT + 22" widescreen LCD monitor.

Sadly, putting Q6600 + 8800GT + 22" WS LCD will definitely break my budget.

It will be unlikely for my to keep updating my graphic card each time a new series appear, so if i go Dual-core (88GT + 22" LCD set), i want it to match my 88GT as perfect as possible (lesser bottleneck scenarios blah blah). For monitor, either 22" WS LCD with good refresh rate for gaming and multimedia or any plain vanilla 17" LCD.
I am currently using a 19" WS LCD, so i can stick with it and give my dad the new 17" LCD. I can forget about any newer 19" or 20" since it wouldn't make a difference.

As for hardisk and mobo, if possible, the lowest storage capacity for SATA III (use for system files only) with a SATA III compatible mobo. If possible, i want the mobo to come with integrated Video+Sound for emergency purposes. If it comes with Gigabit LAN, even better, lol.
And I doubt i'll need and use SLi. I won't need a independent soundcard at the moment.

i have quite a lot of hardisks already (80+160+200+250+320+500).

Forget about speakers, i'll find those myself.

And the suitable PSU (about 3-4 hardisks) to match my system and any decent casing.

Kinda in the rush and i am panicking. Suddenly dad told me that he is fed-up with him old computer (dunno whether its P3 or the first generation P4) and wants to take over my computer, hence getting me a newer one. I need to decide a set quickly as possible before he decides it for himself or worse, get the new PC for himself, lol.

Does Windows XP works well with a quad core ? More like, will Windows XP and the softwares installed on it use the quad core to its full potential ?
No point getting a Quad core with my version of Windows doesn't support it.

I use my PC mainly for :-
Photoshop (quite a lot of files at one go)
Mozilla Firefox (main tabs and addons)
Occasionally some HD videos
Music (.FLAC, .APE)

Basically i like to multitask a lot, but i prefer to stick to Windows XP.

I need some advices on this.

New standard for viewing HD anime ?

What should be good for the age of anime in HD quality ?

I was trying to watch Iblard Jikan, which is encoded in h.264 with DTS audio in1920x1080 resolution. It lagged badly. Audio and video were off-synced by 20-25 seconds.
The video quality is very beautiful. Amazing work of art and beautiful music to boot.

So what should be good enough to decode and watch this video with perfect sync ?
I am currently using an AMD64 3200+, nVidia 8600GT and just 1GB RAM.
Is there something wrong with my PC or is it just too outdated ?

Budget graphic card dilemma

I am in a dilemma to choose these few models.

Nvidia:
Galaxy 8500GE 256MB GDDR3
Colourful 7600GT 256MB GDDR3
Palit 7600GS 256MB GDDR3

ATi:
Colorful X1650GT 256M DDR3
HIS 1650 IceQ 256 DDR3
Sapphire X1650Pro 256DDR3
ASUS ATI RADEON X1650 256MB DDR2

My budget is around not exceeding RM380 range.
I am interested in nVidia's 8500GE because of h.264 decoding ability which i have no idea how it works.

Apparently, among these, 7600GT seems to be the best performer in normal Win XP and DX9 mode.
Also, i am used to buying mainstream brands such as MSI and ASUS. Therefore i am unfamillar to brands like Colorful, Galaxy, Palit, HIS and Sapphire. Are these brands reliable ? How about their after sales service such as warranty claims if any ?

Please advice, thanks.
Also, do recommend other model or brand which you believe to be better than the ones listed.
I am upgrading from a MSI Geforce 6600GT which died out and currently stuck with a real low-end Leadtek 6200TC (crappy TurboCache).

Unable to remove a keylogger

I scanned it with Spybot Search and Destroy. This few entries came up but unable to remove it (keylogger) because it is being in use or something.

My main concern would be the keylogger threat. I followed Spybot's instructions which led to a scan right after my Windows is being loaded (desktop not loaded at that moment) but a scan at that time, the keylogger file wasn't detected. After i exited the Spybot scan, my desktop was loaded and i ran the scan again. Keylogger file was found again and same procedure saying that the file is unable to be removed because being in use.

PureWGA was removed twice before but it came back as well.

Please advice, thanks.

I am unfamillar with HijackThis program, but if it is of any help, i ran a scan using that as well.

[SOLVED].... files of a networked computer

Two PCs, my AMD and my sister's Intel.

AMD, Windows XP Pro SP2 (Windows's Firewall ON) with all the latest updates, hooked to the router via a wireless USB adapter.
Intel, Windows XP Pro SP1 (Windows's Firewall OFF) without any updates at all, hooked directly with an Ethernet cable to the router.

Problem, i can view and use the files located in the Intel PC using my own AMD PC. However, this doesn't work the other way around.

I have no idea why, when i tried to acces my AMD PC using the Intel PC, it requests for a password. I didn't set any password at all. Why is there a password and what is the default password ?

I tried by disabling the Windows's Firewall on my AMD PC, but still the problem is there.

Some guidance please.

5 meters USB cable problem

According to USB.org (http://www.usb.org/about/faq/ans5), it is still within the limit or maybe right on the dot.

Is there a driver which i need to install ? I can't seem to find any suitable driver for it.

Burning some files + an ISO file

I am using Nero as my burning software.

I know how to use Nero to burn an ordinary ISO into a workable CD/DVD (no longer in ISO format).

But now, i want to know if there is anyway to burn an ISO (into a workable CD/DVD) WITH a or more additional files/folders.

Is there a way to do this ? Do recommend if there is a possible way but not with Nero.

Harddisk power cable ?

I just bought a new SATA II (can't see the difference between SATA I and SATA II) harddisk. This new SATA II HD requires a SATA type of power cable which i don't have extra. I only have an extra SATA cable to connect to the mobo but not the power cable.

I opened up my casing and the current HD inside is SATA I (or so i was told). I check the back of the HD and saw that the back of the SATA I has the 4-pin port for the usual power cables but it isn't being used because it is connected with the SATA-type of power cable.

Can i remove the SATA type of power cable from the current HD and plug it for my SATA II while plugging in the usual 4 pin power cable for the current HD ? I am mainly concern whether the 4-pin power cable can be used on the SATA I HD.
Should buy one more SATA-type of power cable so that both my SATA I and II use the same type of SATA power cable or can i use the usual 4-pin power cable for my SATA I and SATA type of power cable for my SATA II ?

Halfway typing also i feel a bit already.
