htpc+lcd sound problem over hdmi

Dear all,
I recently got myself a 32LG53FR full hd lcd tv, and my first choice of source will be my htpc computer
I am facing this problem that i could not solve.

the sound coming out from tv sounded like it went thru a karaoke machine and tuned the vocal key down 1 spot
(female voice become male voice)
no matter what software i use (including winamp, ttplayer etc) and no matter what source i use (avi, mkv, flv, mp3 etc)
even youtube over firefox

I have no choice but to use the realtek control panel to tune the karaoke key up 1 stop.
this solved the problem but the sound quality deteriorated.

anyone else facing this problem? I dont have other source to test the hdmi. sound from analog output is ok

here is my set up:

PC:
TA690G biostar (build in hdmi output, no other hardware used)
software = windows media classic, WMP11, powerdvd etc
decoder = FFVshow decoder for mpeg4
tried native VLC player also same
running 1080p
audio over hdmi@44.1khz using realtek HDA HDMI output
set to 2 speakers on control panel

My friend's n70 just got conned this afternoon. classic case classic method.....
the fella pura pura be customer, then say his phone got no battery, pinjam my friend's phone to make call.
then say no reception... then walk away. dissapear...

will get the imei number soon. just want to warn everyone not to fall into the same trap.

Is there a way to lock the thumbdrive to become read only?
example, partition it into 2 drives, 1 is read only, 1 is writeable.

I dont want password protection that hides the drive. the read only drive must be visible.

Dear All

I am putting together my new pc as my P3 is going to be retired as it enters 5 years itch.

I am will be using it for basic gaming (i know onboard is bad) and more serious gaming when dx10 cards are more affordable (give it 1 year).

The AMD system is prefered because of the HDMI support, so lets say in 1-2 year time i retire this system, it will be sitting under my 42" tv

But the AMD performance is something I hope can be improved. C2D pula is more expensive (945 graphics is nonsense) but then again e4300 is very oc-able.

Please help me to choose, and you have any better idea, do let me know. If you are dealer or got any kangtau.. pm me.

discovered that the HDMI oni works 2 channel audio
also discovered hdmi/dvi oni 1 can work one time
and svid/vga also work one a time
discovered that serial and parallel not dead yet. still got header
also got frontal mic in, designed for karaoke

Dear LYNians

I am doing a project that requires making a collection of PDF files. The user should be able to do a search using dropdown boxes, then the program will recomend a product.

need 2 types of search engine

1.
for example, selecting
fruit->apple->green will bring up grannysmith.pdf
fruit->apple->red will bring up royalgala.pdf
fruit->apple will show both green and red pdfs.

2. input royal* will give royalgala
means shud take wildcard

What do you think? what software should I use/write on? or there are already existing software to do that.

the database is quite huge, with around 2000 pdf to tag, and require quarterly maintainance.

the target is to store in CDROM
