Thermaltake have sent us some of their aftermarket RamOrb RAM coolers, but the package that we were sent for this review was rather unusual, in being that Thermaltake have partnered with GSkill and the RamOrbs came installed complete with 2GB DDR3 at 1800Mhz of GSkill memory (which was a very nice realisation when it was discovered).

The strange thing was that the samples came straight from Thermaltake and the box was just a regular RamOrb box. We suspect that this is such a new product that Thermaltake and GSkill didn’t have chance to make a dedicated box before they wanted to get samples out for review.

So, let’s take a look at these RamOrb coolers

It uses one 6mm heatpipe to transfer the heat from the PCB and the BGA chips.

the RamOrbs can only be installed one way, as the memory banks are too close to the graphics card slot to allow the curved heatsink to fit. And as you can see the RamOrbs need a space between them to fit, so use here is limited to two memory sticks.
Beside that problem,as you can see from the pic,the Noctua fan is suck from right to left while the RamOrb is sucking from left to right,so this is one big problem too,and for those GC slot is near to ram slot,u can only install the RamOrb to top side.

Basically,i think this is an actived cooled OCZ Reaper
and we really need a fan like that to cool down the ram?
and if i have the chance,i will just take them off and sell it and put 4 sticks of ram and use Allngap Custom Ram Cooler

Today I facing some problem and it's quite

Before i start to tell what's the problem,this is the spec of the pc.

AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core
MSI K9A2 Platinum
2x1GB Aeneon DDR2 667MHz
MSI nVidia 9600GT Red PCB
Cooler Master Extreme Power 500W
WD 500GB Green SATA
LG DVD Writer SATA

The pc will black out and hang when my friend playing games,the screen will be totally black and hang,i can confirm it's hang cause the numlock has no respone and the sound of the game is keep repeating,so i took off the gc and clean the dust which make me cause the dust is fully loaded on the heat sink there.then i apply AS5 on the core to improve its cooling.
so i decided to run ati tool artifact scanning and this si the problem that pop up.Well,pls refer to the attachment of the screenshot.

The 9600GT is installed onto the mobo,before i format the pc,i've tried:
1:Change DVI port
2:Tested with CRT
3:Change PCIE slot (tested all 4 slot on the mobo)
4:Clear CMOS
5:Change from Vista to XP
6:Reinstall all those games that faced the black out and hang problem

After i formatted,the problem still the same,i wanna find out what is the real problem,so i didnt install any driver except the latest 178.24 with physic X driver from nvidia.but when i try to run atitool artifact scanning again,the problem come back again which is what u see in the attachment.

SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY?

*I tried to install the card to my office rig and it has no problem running atitool artifact scanning for more than 3 hours,and the temp checked by rivatuner and it never exceed more than 55c.so this is not overheat problem.but once i put it back to the AMD rig,it pop up that thing which make the artifact scanning failed.
**So i doubt this is the problem that cause the games to black out and hang.
