2 weeks ago, my teacher, Kim Teoh came over to Kuching for his 3rd batch of photography class. I was the 2nd batch. We went for a 2 day photography trip to Sematang. God did we take lots of photos. To what extent you ask? We all went into the ladies toilet to take photos of a palm-sized grasshopper.

All the shots are shot using my good ol Nikon D40 + 18-55mm kit lens + 55-200mm VR + a Hoya CPL fitted on

Cant connect to MSN network

First of all, I am posting this in the network and broadband section because I believe that this is related to TMNet streamyx instead of a technical problem on my computer. Allow me to further elaborate.

Last night, I had problems connecting to WLM at around 10pm. The internet was working fine. I then decided to use ebuddy while waiting for the WLM to recover by itself hopefully the next morning. Today, I tried. For the WHOLE DAY I couldnt connect. I troubleshooted. It says that its the Host file problem. Easy. I have encountered this problem before. All I do is just restart my computer. It didnt work. Never mind.

I reinstalled the whole thing properly and cleanly using CCleaner then again and again using Zap messenger and the same error keeps on coming out. Then after I tried to replace the HOST file with a fresh one, NEW ERROR came out.

Once you click on the sign in button, the error pops up immediately saying that the service is temporarily unavailable. Error code was 80040154 (I googled so much til I cant even remember this code in my head). I tried all the solutions provided and it worked for all of em on the net. I did not give up.

I uninstalled it AGAIN and decided to install it with the previous version, Windows Messenger 7.5. This time, it TRIED to sign in buy still failed. I troubleshoot it and this time it passed all ticks except for the Key Ports. By then, I start to suspect its TMNet (how stupid was I to not have realized that in the first place before starting to destroy my whole computer). I then pinged msn.com and hotmail.com. I couldnt connect to the whole MSN network.

Still not done yet, I flushed the DNS in hope it will work. At first, yes it enabled me to log on to msn.com for a while only. However, my MSN msger wasnt solved. I am now at wits end. I have killed the last nerve cell in my brain trying to figure out what went wrong. I called up 100 and 1300889515, they were all "busy" which I think is just sheer b***s***. I waited for at least 10 minutes.

If anyone of you have encountered such problem and know a way or even the cause of it please leave your footprint here. MSN messenger is very important to me. I need to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Some shots of the new Sony Skinny T. It was slim, but IMO its just "cukup makan" wont say its very thin though.

All the shots here are taken using 2xNissin Di622 Flash triggered via optical trigger. A small reflector was used to bounce back some of the light to make it even. I wasnt good at it. Trust me, it isnt as easy as you think it is.

i received a msg from my friend saying that 2009 form 5 students can check their PLKN status via msg by sending "PLKN SEMAK ic number" to 15888 and saying that 20 sen will be deducted. How reliable is this?

I got the chance to shoot my relative just before I headed over to the Penang International Airport on the 23rd of Dec 08. I had to use flash for the first shot as it was pretty dark inside.

Connection type changed?

I just realised that from my router, it was previously connected as PPPoE since the first day I installed streamyx. Now it has changed to Dynamic. Why is this so? Have they changed smth somehow? I have to restart router a few times a day now. Always have hang session. Last time i can go on for a week without touching the modem.

A "one-bump-for all" function

I find it hard for sellers to bump a lot of threads at once, having to open 10 tabs. Is it possible for the admin to implement smth like a "bump all" button? This will save time for those in a hurry and also for those whos computer cannot open too many tabs at once. Since all threads from the same user will be spread out a gap of 5 threads i dont find this too difficult to implement. thanks very much

My neighbor "donated" me a Canon Selphy DS810 so i went out to buy the ink for it. when i print out test shots of it, it seems to have a "white tint", in other words the color become less vibrant after it has dried. when i just take it out of the paper tray just after printing it looks fine but after 5 mins or so when its dry the picture looks very "sucky" any idea why this is happenin? I tried it on Canon photo paper plus glossy and another chapalang photo paper also same thing

i made a dumb mistake by using a lil bit of vulgarities in the kopitiam section during the 1st . I am happy that the mods are very fast to response because today i just realised that i was warned 10%. That isnt my main point. the point is why wasnt i informed about the warning. If were for me having nbtd and clicked on my own profile i wouldnt even know i got a warning 3 days ago.
