My Compaq Laptop is Dead

hello there

i seem have a problem with my laptop.it cant be turn on even though i connect the adapter to the laptop.it is an old and discontinued laptop, bought in 2006,Compaq Presario M2000.went to a local pc shop.they said it might be the adapter problem or the adapter port is rosak.since the shop doesn't have stocks on the adapter, they ask me to test with my friends adapter which also happen to be a compaq laptop user.but the results is the same, still cannot be on.so the question is:

-can i repair it ?
-can i change a notebook motherboard(which the adapter port located)?
-where can i find spare parts for HP/compaq laptops ?

here is the link on how the laptop looks like:

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF...3-12090862.html

really appreciate for those who read this
thanks
