Anyone know are there any download manager with web access and multi user support? its ok if its a web script as long it works~~

I need it to share my premium account with my friend,all with different user name/password and their own folder. Rapidleech is good but I cant stop it once it started, or view the download % after I close the progress page...

[WTB]SSH Tunnel Service

My uni blocked VPN(those using phonebook or OpenVPN) but SSH Tunnel works(the one using putty.exe).

I am looking for anyone who can offer me SSH Tunnel Service. I can see mostly VPN provider in LYN is using OpenVPN, but I cant connect using that.

Game Server ping issues

I got 2 LAN game server in my uni hostel.

Server 1:
OS : Linux ubuntu server edition(no GUI).
CPU : Pentium 4 1.6Ghz, 1GB ram total, 30GB Hdd,100Mbps on board LAN
Game hosted : Counter-Strike 1.6 32 slots Non-Steam
Ping when 32 slots all full : 20-30ms for every player
Normal average ping : 5-15ms
Average ping result (cmd) : 1ms

Server 2:
OS : Window XP SP3
CPU : AMDx2 3800+, 1.5GB ram total, 160GH hdd, 100Mbps on board LAN
Game hosted : Counter Strike 1.6 Zombie MOD 32 slots non-steam
Ping when server at peak(16 players) : 60-100ms for every player
Ping when server at normal( 5 to 6 players) : 20-40ms
Average ping result (cmd) : 2ms

I know ZOmbie Mod consume more resource but even running normal CS server on the window machine,it seems the ping will never hit like the one running on linux. I got Idle apache, mysql and filezilla ftp on the 2nd server and even I disable all,it still like that.

May I know any other factors that will affect my ping? My window machine had a better spec compare to the linux machine but when more player enters, window machine seems not be able to perform very well(from the ping).

window media player problem

I added a window media player and direct it to play a file located in the server in my LAN. everything works fine for window vista but window xp will keep display connecting...and unable to view it.

Later on todae,I uploaded more movie(mythbuster) and found out vista and xp oso cant play them.But my pc can play them(i mean before i upload the file to server). I try to encode them to wmv and it works. WMV format solve both my problem(the 1st n 2nd). So anyone know how to fix this problem?I got 40GB avi files in my media server and i dun wan to encode them 1 by 1

Problem with phpmyadmin/apache(xampp)

I got a pc running on Win XP Pro Service Pack 3...i installed xampp win32 1.7.2..

For the 1st dae everything is running fine. But now, the phpmyadmin keep pop up error. After restart,the phpmyadmin page load very slow. Later on, the pc itself cant browse internet or localhost, but I still can monitor the pc thru TeamViewer(LAN connection).

Sometimes after restart, when i try to login to phpmyadmin,it will pop up PHP error. I google it and mostly said need to run as admin but mine is window xp,not window vista.

Got any idea regarding to this?I reinstall xampp alot of time edi, this afternoon everything seems to be ok until i restart the pc and everything goes back again.

I tried to retrieve the URL for a movie selected in a listbox using this code in VB 2008 but I got some error where it stated "unknown column where clause"

VB 2008 express and ms access(.accd)

Im taking foundation in IT and the lecturer want us to submit a VB project by end of this semester. I planned to make a video/music streaming program(like ppstream) but only works in intranet aka my hostel network(MMu cyberjaya)

I got 1 form which display the video list where u can choose which video to play.When u click that,it will open another form and run WMP in full screen.

Now I had prepared a ms access 2008 database with 1 table which consists 3fields (ID,movie,url) <ID not important anw>

What I planned to do is, we(server admin) will update the ms access which is located in my server and the client will access the db and display the "movie" field in their client. Something like we update the movie list and url,the client also get the update without update the whole client. How to show the field "movie" in a list in vb and then when user clicks on it,it will set the wmp.url = "<url field in ms access>".

Streamyx going to cap bandwidth

I heard from 1 of the TM staff, TMNET going to cap our bandwidth(just like wat p1 wimax or other bb provider do) starting this september(not sure abt the date as he dun wan to reveal it)

He stated so far,TMNET never ever cap anyone bandwidth unlike what some say TMNET is capping their bandwidth...

OMG,download fast ppl!!!!!!

You also cant use ur streamyx account on other streamyx registered line after spetember too.
(Example:Your account is registered to 03-12345678.You only can use tat account using this number.You cant use it on ur fren number like 03-87654321)

Gaming using wireless broadband

My uni throttle the gaming port which results my flying spaghetti monster ping to be 1000-2000ms....Im staying in the hostel

Is there any wireless bb tat can give me ping with ard 100ms so I can play DoTA or other online games like rakion,gunbound etc?the uni blocked some ports too..

I was considering to get intel e5200 but just now I saw one of the thread, they were suggesting PhenomII 550BE instead..I plan to get chapalang PSU if I go for higher spec(save $$) but a better PSU if lower spec ones...budget is +- 1k

This rig will be 24/7(depends) running in my hostel room..use it as game server(support another game server in my room),surfing web,watch movie,burn dvd etc..light gaming which i tink the internal graphic shud be good enuf..play Counter Strike oni..sometimes dota..
[Purpose to replace my lappie amdx2 turion 2Ghz,2gb ram,250GB..it tends to get very very hot)

So I plan to save some $$ then grab a better gc later on..if i use cheap PSU,then by tat time i might need to chg it..

any suggestion?

My uni line throttle gaming port where I get 2000+ms in Counter Strike and also suddenattacksea. The network is not congested as I can get 6ms ping to lowyat.net while my ftp speed is ard 1MB/s. So now what I try to do is to redirect all my traffic thru port 80(they give priority to web surfing so I assume port80 will be the one given the priority) so I can play my games smoothly at least..

A fella suggested me to use proxifier, target the proxy server to my own and send the packet out thru port80..I also got another suggestion of using squid but it's hard for newbie like me to configure it...

I tried my lan ipv4 and localhost for the proxy server in proxifier but it couldnt connect to it...

Using port 80 for online gaming?

As above...my uni(MMU to be specific) throttle online gaming..been getting 1800+ms ping for CS while red ping in suddenattackSEA..

is there anyway i can use port 80 to play my games?They give priority to port80(they state web surfing will be given priority)...and my ftp port 21 oso working fine(been getting 1MB/s) from WebUI server...

Can you guys give me some advise on the uni/college I listed?

1) MMU [Foundation in IT+Degree in Networking](1st yr in Cyber,rest in Melaka)

2) TARC [Diploma in Information System Engineering+adv.diploma+degree)

Well financial is not a problem for me. I like TARC coz of the enviroment of study..like I can enjoy my college life...while MMU in cyberjaya is kinda dull(everydae the canteen food and night time duno where to go oso)..

But my parents would prefer MMU coz to them TARC is like a cheapskate kinda college..while MMU is more like a proper university to study...

FYI, I will be getting a US cert in TARC compare to a MMU cert if I study in MMU...

So any advise?I reli need to make the decision now as TARC is going to start their classes this coming Mondae..I just like the place TARC is situated,food,friends....and I am taking my favourite subject, so I will put my best in it =)

btw,how much will I need to study in APIIT?just asking...
