I've just got a list from my son for PS/3 games that he wanted, but I'm looking for a good second hand PS3 games only. The list I've:

1. Oblivion (GOTY if possible)
2. Little Big Planet
3. Resistance 2 (Got it from xentova)
4. Need for Speed or any racing games

COD in PJ/Sg Buloh/Kepong or reasonable postage .. TIA..

Building NAS

Hi all,

I'm thinking of building a NAS (network access storage) aka Home Server. I know that I could get one for around RM500 (Dlink barebone) or RM600 (Buffalo with 1TB). But I would like to build a new one from scratch based on off the shelf parts. Anybody has done this? I'm thinking of building a low power one if I could source a low power PSU too.

What I've in my mind:

1. HTPC/miniATX casing - Silverstone SG05/LianLi V351 - Any other case that can take more than 2 3.5" HD?
2. Atom based mobo - Is there anything that can take more than 2 SATAs?
3. Low power PSU - Anyone know where I could source 150W PSU? - a bit of confusion here.. if I put in 350W and my rig only need probably 100W, will I wasted energy here?

On the sw side, I'm thinking of putting Debian/Lenny.. shouldn't be a problem there with SAMBA, and torrent thing..

All suggestions are welcomed.

I'm urgently looking for the best shop that could give me the best price for Nikon D80 kit .. I've been scouring about in LowYat and SgWang, but still couldn't find a shop that could give me less than RM4250 for the kit.. Other saying that they could get D80 below RM4K price ..

Blood pressure meter

Had a small accident and managed to crack my back (lumber 1) during the last raya holiday.. and somehow, my blood pressure goes up and this is not normal. I need to monitor my blood pressure .. is there any good and affordable blood pressure meter out there? Panasonic or Omron? Which one is good .. and if someone could give one that is less than RM300 with memories would be appreciated.

VMWare Fusion vs Parallels 3.0

Hi guys,

I'm currently on Parallels 2.0 and contemplating on either upgrading to 3.0 or go for the new kid in the block, VMware Fusion. Anyone has tried both? Parallels 2.0 has worked well for me for sure, just one or two problems with unexpected shutdown on the virtual machine .. but since the upgraded version is out and there is a new competitor .. might want to give them a go. Pricewise I believe to be the same for now.. saw a lot of those Parallels 3.0 boxes at Machine .. (could I get a discount if I upgrade?? Still have the original box and proof of purchase).

MBP battery - going yo yo ..

Hi all,

My 8 months old MBP battery is now going yo-yo. Sometime the capacity goes up to 90-91% (which I guess is normal for the age) but some other times, it goes down to 60%. I called up Apple support and my battery is not under their recall list.

The best I guess is to bring it to Apple Service Centre to get it checked. Anybody knows where is the nearest service centres to Ampang? Does battery included in the one year warranty (I've got an extended 3-year warranty courtesy of UK Higher Ed. plan when I bought my unit in the UK last year).

Macbook Pro & ants problem

I thought it was me spilled some sweet drink on my MBPro .. but to my surprise, the problem seems to be global ..

There are lot of ants going in and out of those little speakers holes .. and I googled this morning .. and wallah ..

Hi all,

Thinking of building my own HTPC which let me do recording from Astro. I found Terence's blog to be helpful but I need to build my own now. I will connect the HTPC to Astro decoder & Samsung S71 32" LCD tv.

Budget will be around RM3K but flexible.

I've the following in mind, but any suggestion is most welcomed:

1. HTPC casing - Silverstone LC14M (looking for a full size ATX case)
2. Processor - AMD AM2 3800+
3. Motherboard - ????
4. Video card - ??? is it alright if I use a DVI card with DVI->HDMI connector?
5. Tuner card - Hauppage PVR-150
6. Power supply - Any silent one which could produce 300W at least???
7. Wireless keyboard/trackball/mouse - Any wireless keyboard with built-in trackball??
8. Windows XP MCE or Vista????

Got a nice spanking new 32" TFT from htkaki yesterday .. now, I need to get Astro. I missed the Giant promotion (free decoder/installation).. now, is there any such promotion still going on? Or is the RM199 + RM80 rebate promotion still the best one in town?

Got myself a broadband last week .. finally .. but stupid TMNet has connected me at 512Kbps rather than 1Mbps. It has been a week since I reported it and nothing seems to be done as of today. The CS told me that the case has been escalated to the another department but yet to see any action taken. Should I call them again and be very very mean to them to get action done?

I know it is not the latest phone, nor the greatest phone ever.. but I got it for cheap in the UK. Now, I need to debrand it, don't like the Vodafone branding and menus. I've gone from website to the others and it seems that it is not possible yet to debrand my phone for free (CID=49, color=Brown). Just wondering where at Low Yat could I find a shop that sell this so-called crusier or service cable? TIA.

I'm going back for good by mid of this month and wondering what broadband services are available at Tmn Mulia, Bkt Antarabangsa, Ampang. I'll be working for home, so a good broadband service is really needed. Is Streamyx available? Is there any other alternatives? Could I get a wireless broadband too? Maxis HSDPA/3G or Celcom 3G as backup? Anyone who lives at Bkt Antarabangsa could give me some hands here?
