How to block sound

How to disable/block music from mp3 player or background music from loading? I opened some websites and blogs simultaneously and suddenly, one of the site plow me a loud song. Cannot find the sauce of the song, I X'ed my Firefox, and because of that I lost my vid streaming. The drill,

I use an amplifier and some 2.5 ft speakers, and the volume is at 50. I checked around and I found there are soem cracks at my window.

So, any Firefox add-on or extension to suggest?

WTB Spek

I snapped my 750W spek into two. Now I can't see my own penor (seriously), and to type this I need to literally kiss the LCD.

Now, where is the cheapest spek shop in town? Preferably around Setapak, Datuk Keramat, Ampang Park, KLCC or maybe Great Eastern Mall. Spek is not a fashion statement apparel for me, so the cheaper, the better.

Seriously, I hate it when my spek failed on me.

Unlock a TV

I have this problem. I'm playing PS2 on chapalang GC brand TV with my siblings, accidentally I stepped on the remote. BAM! Display turned blue with lock icon appear.

Now all buttons are not working, except turn off button. And the damn TV is locked even after restart. I clicked all the buttons, tried possible unlock combinations 7711, 6688 all failed.

TV brand GC. When google GC, Google returns GameCube. Dayum.

I want to play my PS2! Any idea to unlock this faggit?

WARNING! 50-50. This external hard disk gives me headache. Hardly used because cannot be detected by my linux netbook. Windows can detect and use this hard disk. However, I won't guarantee it'll work on your system. Seriously.

WARNING! Hence the base RM55 price.

WARNING! Again, the condition of the hard disk is unknown. My netbook (running Ubuntu and Fedora) most of the time cannot detect the hard disk properly.

WARNING! Tested on Windows two times, formatted NTFS and ran 5-phase Chkdsk. Found no error whatsoever.

WARNING! The hard disk may contain up to 40GB worth of data. Most of them (about 30-35GB) are debmirror of intrepid i386 repositories, 2-3 links to erotic sites, 5-6 random MP3 files and passworded Yua Aida's photobook/scenes.

Wasted. I'd love to use it, but as a paper weight. If you want to try your luck, take it for RM55. If it's working, you should try Russian Roulette. If it's not, don't poke me. Return to SRI Computers Sdn. Bhd. or Maxtor for replacement. If you are like me who prefer to buy a new set instead of dealing with warranty and replacement, kindly stay away from this sales.

PC dies on me

I'd like to pinpoint the exact problem.

1. My rig is two years old.
2. Last two days, the displays suddenly turned light brownish white.
3. After reset, no signal.

My initial assumption is, my graphic card is dead. The basis is,

1. Both monitors (I'm running dual-monitor) turned light brownish white simultaneously.
2. I can hear Windows' log on sound when I turn the rig on long enough.
3. Unfortunately, with no signal on my both monitors.

What happen?

1. I'm running Windows 7 on the rig.
2. Neither install anything nor touch the hardware, prior to this problem.
3. This is the 1st time case.

Note:

1. I don't have other rig to test the graphic card.
2. Both monitors (LCD) are 6-7 years old.
3. One of the monitors has fuzzy problem; I change the refresh rate to correct it.

Kindly suggest steps to pinpoint/solve the problem. Buying another monitors/graphic card/other is the last option.

Macam Mana Buang Lumut

Today, I just bought a wireless router (Linksys WRT54GL) intended to connect 2 laptops wireless-ly to the already available P1 Wimax wireless broadband. My current setup is as above.

Computer 1 and 2 connect to Internet (with cable X and Y respectively), and both computer can go online. However, laptop 3 and 4 cannot surf Internet. They can connect to WRT54GL (with connection status at notification area - Local and Internet access).

I'm using computer 1, I tried to get into WRT54GL admin settings, failed. My computer can't connect to it.

Kindly advice to get all four computers and laptops online. Further details are available upon troubleshooting request.

Three Long Beeps

Hi gaise,
Today I build a new pc after my four years old pc died yesterday. Unfortunately, the pc give me three long beeps during POST. I did some googling, found that it is caused by takde keyboard. I do have a ps2 keyboard, but my new mobo don't support ps2 keyboard because there is no ps2 port at all. Lulz. Only USB and FireWire.

I do have a microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse, but somehow the mobo is unable to detect the keyboard receiver. Lulz again.

So is there any workaround for this problem? Maybe some keystrokes or lulz?

I want to disable this confirmation dialog. After some google, still couldn't find the answer. Maybe I google not hard enough. But anyway, please help me on this. Thanks!

How You Backup CDs?

hi my fellow friends,
i stand here today starting a topic to discuss about an aspect of music appreciation. the topic in interest today is, "how we, music lover dudes backup our CDs". im not sure either the topic is available here or not, so thousand apologies if there is such.

currently, im collecting (rent) original audio CDs from my fellow friends in my campus for RM5 per album. i rip them with EAC by following the steps from this site: http://tinyurl.com/28pghp and so on. well, i love to keep them in their purest digital form (.wav) but the size of them are gargantuan. so i decided to encode them to .flac and enjoy the possibility of tagging them. i know the fact that .flac is liek zip. you can always get back the .wav.

im going to burn them in DVDs, the .flacs and their covers only. the naming of the albums in the DVD are %artist% - %album% %year% for example Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing (2007). i do fill up the genre, year, and so on in their tags.

my questions are:
1. how you guys backup the CDs? almost the same liek me?
2. is it necessary to include the .cue files?
3. how you name the album folder?
4. what's the DVD brand you use to backup them? any specific?

or you dont give much damn to the details, do you? well, i hope i could preserve the collections for years, maybe until i die. lulz.

How To Mass Delete

hay all,

in my phone SE W610i, there are 100 installed games. all gameloft and glu games. hehe. so i want to ask, how to mass delete them because i want to install another 1000+ into my M2. thanks a lot.

p/s: there is no mark option to mass delete them. to delete them 1 by 1, that's not practical.
