hi all, I just started to work in this comp for 2 days, but now i got a better offer which I plan to work there instead. My question is, can I just leave like that? Coz the offer letter didnt state any notice period I should gv during probation period. I did ask the HR, the HR told me 2weeks. Since nothing is written in the contract, can I just leave? advice is needed. thanks.

I've got a long time friend or leech in other term. I call him as L here. He always constantly asking me to buy him dinner or lunch, whether as a joke or not. Even one time when I refused of buying him a "GREAT" dinner a.k.a not-ur-usual-dinner (when i graduated and landed myself with my first job), he blasted me with an email scolding me of being stingy, have no sense of friendship, and it is A MUST to belanja upon getting a new job ...etc. It isnt that i dont want to treat him a dinner, i like to but he insist of expensive restaurant which easily cost more than RM200 jz the 2 of us. We stopped talking and i even blocked him from my instant messaging.

I feel so nice then, but when we have a meet with a group of other friends in cafe, he always make those unpleasant sound when we all starting to pay the bill. Usually im the one who pay all as i'm the one working then, the rest was still students including L.

It was not long when my other friends keep asking me what have i done with L? I have no idea what happened. I didnt waste my time investigate of what L told my surrounding friends but I know it isnt something nice. Months after that, we get nice to each other again automatically and what happened then was; one day, he came and visit me in KL from Penang. After buying him a cup of Grande Frappuccino in the morning, on the afternoon after having a short visit and shop in midvalley, he cheated me of buying him a lunch in Tony Romas which he initially told me that he will pay his part for himself.

the incident above happened more than a year ago and ever since then, i tried to buy him some drinks to make him stop of asking me to "belanja" this and that.

I get so annoyed with his attitude, even before I started working, when I was a student (I loan frm ptptpn as my family is very poor). L always cheated me of buying him drinks and internet cafe fees every time we came out. giving reasons like he dont have money now, i'll give back to u later...etc. His family is rich, well not that rich, but with both mum and dad working in insurance company with decent pay. while my mum is the only sole breadwinner which earns less than what fresh grad gets, with a family of 7 to take care.

He likes to leech, and yet he rarely give back in return. So far, i can only remember of 2 occasion of him buying me. Some more at a place (restaurant) which cost just a fraction of the cost I buy him. he gv a reason like this ' come on la, it got "heart" to belanja u, u still wanna complain? '. ok, i cant complain that. But now he is working more than a year already, even when im being jobless now, when came out to have a drink, he didnt take the initiative to pay the bill and will always wait me to take out my wallet and pay all of it. In some cases recently, in hawker center, he only order himself some food and eat for himself while I eat and drink nothing and just sit there looking at him enjoying the food as im trying to save money. and by the way, he is the one who ask me out all the time and I'll be the driver. fetching him here and there.

I dont know how to be friend or stop from friending with L. being a friend with him, im losing money fast, but if i stop being friend with him, he will pollute my name among my friends. ( we are friends since secondary school ). I need to know what to do, advice is needed badly.

And by the way, L is a male.

just saw the newspaper on The Sun yesterday. it seems that two private university produce poor quality doctors, and there are more which still under investigation.

this is roughly what is written on the newspaper:
" two private universities are being watched following complaints that they produced poor quality doctors. The complains were that the universities were training too many medical students and not sticking to the fixed teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6 or 1:8. the private university however, had one teacher for 20 students.

University Malaya, which set up its medical faculty a long time ago, produces only 200 medical officers a year, but there 2 universities produce 300 although they were set up about 10 years ago........."

well, from what it says here, it seems that some private uni/college, which advertise how good they are, is more or less just a lie. and people pay exorbitant fees to study these colleges/universities? gosh...............

walau, my torrent download is the fastest i've ever seen, since last week, my torrent speed reach 0kbps. like what Tmnuts say, "download ur favourite movies, mp3s....in no time" ----------->>

the worst part is, i cant even connect to some p2p network like gnutella. anyone facing the same problem as me? or is it that TMnuts begin to block p2p, torrent in some area?or maybe they track my downloaded data, and begin to block my p2p, torrent once i reach that limit?

my ip address is 60.52.1XX.XXX maybe this is the ip range they start to block? anyone facing similar problem, plz share.

my usb wifi 802.1g WL-5460USB ovislink LED isnt blinking. the manual said that after the driver installation and the USB wifi is plugged in, the LED will start blinking indicating that it is searching for nearby wifi signal. and the LED light will be established when it is connected to an access point.

anyone know how to fix this problem, sending back to the shop for a replacement is a last resort (as i bought it from KL, and im staying in penang, gosh...)

this is a good news for Ipoh lyn folks, this project is started actually,it was planned to cover the whole Ipoh with wifi. newspaper report that there are signal in Ipoh city centre. anyone using this service here? im just 1-2km away from city centre (jusco there) but cant get any signal here

my old modem just struck by lighting 2 days ago, very unfortunate. so i buy this modem DSL600ER and use in conjunction with an 8 port D-Link switch to share the internet, the problem i face now is, the pc connected through the D-Link port cant connect to the internet, i suspect tat i didn set the router mode. anyone here know how to do the settings?

high speed fan = cooler?

just want to seek an answer here, how many degree celcius can a high speed fan for cpu heatsink cold a cpu? my heatsink fan is currently running at 3000rpm, i decided to get a maybe 6000rpm fan to make it cooler, since my cpu is running at 50 degree celcius. can it work actually? and usually cold by how much?

AMD hypertransport multiplier, useless?

im using socket 754 sempron 2500 @ 2.1ghz, the supported multiplier for the hypertransport is 1-5X. therefore if i overclock to 2.1ghz, i have to raise the hypertransport to 300MHz, the multiplier which i can savely boot into windows is 2.5X. which is a total of 750MHz. i benchmark it using super PI, pcmark 04, 3d mark 05. then i lower the multiplier to 1X (total 300MHz hypertransport speed) i benchmark again using the same utitlities, the marks are the same. i try many times and still the same result between 750MHz HT and 300MHz HT.

so the question is, the HT multiplier is nothing? HT is just a marketing strategy from AMD? maybe the upcoming AM3 with HT 3.0 will perform the same as AM2 HT 2.0? i guess so.

what torrent client u guys using now?is it the fastest client? i heard that bitcomet is the fastest. is it true? i use azurues b4, but i slow like hell and it eat memory and my cpu resource fast. so, whats the best client?
