dry cabinet question

I bought a dry cabinet from my friends( he is upgrading to larger capacity). I notice after I set turn the knob to medium, the humidity is at 40-50% at first. However after few days my camera inside the dry cabinet, the humidity will increase from 40-50 to 60-70 or more. I need to open the dry cabinet door and close it agiain, the humidity will go up to like 80% at first, after few hours it will going back 40-50%

Is the dry cabinet already spoil? How come the humidity will increase after few days my camera inside the dry cabinet. Currently i only put 2 lens and 1 camera body inside the dry cabinet.

PS: the dry cabinet brand is AM-Pro
