LOOKING FOR FRESH GOAT MILK

Dear All Kopitiamers,

This topic of WTF (want to find, not the other one) is meant to locate place where I can find fresh goat's milk. Any super market, mini market or mamak stall within Klang Valley will be more than welcome.

I've tried online search and the nearest is Shah Alam which is out of reach. Furthermore, I need it during weekdays, not weekend. I've been to this website Teguh Ternak mentioned that they are selling fresh goat's milk at Pasar Tani Mega PJ Seksyen 17 but turns out tht they aren't there anymore, but at Shah Alam Seksyen 17 instead over the weekend.

Please, I beg you all, if you know of a place within area such as PJ or KL city itself, please reply to me ASAP.

Thanks you all!!!

[addedon]July 31, 2008, 1:16 am[/addedon]15 read counts and still nobody can help?

Office 2007: File locked for editing by ...

I've been facing this problem ever since an upgrade from 2003 to 2007 was done.

The situation is like this: while 2 or more user accessing to a same Microsoft Office documents/spreadsheet/powerpoint simultaneously, there are NO WARNING on the file is locked for editing, opt for read-only or notify.

The very same file, when accessed using Microsoft Office 2003 works and the warning did appear so that the user will be acknowledged of someone is performing some amendment and he is not suppose to perform any amendment until the other user is done (provided that got no glitches and it's really being editted).

All PC/Workstation are connected to a Windows Server 2003 Standard with the File server role installed and running. The functionality is fine and every user on Office 2003 don't seems to have such problem at all. But not the same for Office 2007.

98% of workstation here are WinXP Pro based while 2% are mixture of Vista Business and Win98SE. I doubt that it got to do with the OS as the problem replicates itself on any of this platform (except for Win98SE).

Anyone encountered the same problem?

Any solutions on to click on what switch, radio button to REENABLE back this warning notification?

I did a check online and most of it point to Microsoft Sharepoint Server or Microsoft Sharepoint Services; I have neither of this installation or services running at all and it worked fine previously. Especially for Office 2003.

The server is not installed with Microsoft Office 2003 and running BitDefender.

Please shed some lights on this, sifu, pro, master!

Nintendo DS Lite / PSP Slim / MP3 Player

I'm not sure whether this is a thread belongs to this section but having a query on 2 popular handheld gaming devices, I couldn't be wrong...

I haven't have a good MP3 player for quite sometime and have to deal with crappy compression to stuff as much song as possible into my 256MB player...seriously sucks.

Considering the price, it seems like these Nintendo DS Lite and PSP Slim Lite also comes with MP3 playback as well as what they are meant for, GAMING !!!

Eventhough I'm not into handheld or console gaming, having this feature would be nice... I can't lug around a laptop for gaming while on the run

I'm pretty sure both got their pros and cons, but PSP is top of the list due to the memory storage is Memory Stick where I can still get from major shops and games are widely available, the MP3 playback is software based in comparison with the Nintendo DS Lite which requires for the additional MP3 player cartridges and SD card for storage. More modular but more money as well.

Somehow the Nintendo DS got touchscreen (not that important, but an adv compare to PSP).

I haven't tested the Nintendo but I have definitely have a hands-on on the PSP (old version), the graphic is superb but ain't sure the Slim Lite version now would be better. I find that their RRP at RM799 is quite reasonable and I believe some store might be selling it at a lower price and comes with freebies.

But my primary concern is still MP3 playback; have any owner of the PSP Lite uses it as an MP3 player while on the run? How portable-friendly it goes? Would it be more advisable to get a dedicated MP3 player instead of PSP/Nintendo if gaming is not my aim?

Please advise

My primary MP3 player of choice is the Sansa View.

Double-clik IE icon keeps on create shortcut

Hi all,

Before coming to a common conclusion of virus infection and suggesting a thorough format, I would like to know if you pro/expert had faced this problem before.

On the desktop, the default IE icon where right-clicking it and click on properties would bring up the Internet Properties, is not really responding to double-click or ENTER when highlighted. Whenever I double-click it, a shortcut to IE is created. But when I double-click on the new shortcut created, it won't start the IE at all.

I tried the shortcut from the All Programs in Start Menu as well as using RUN on iexplore but it seems like even by removing the icon from the desktop and reenable it by customizing the desktop brings back the same problematic IE icon.

I wonder what seems to be the problem. Need meddling with registry?

BTW it's Win XP Pro SP2 with IE6...

If you guys faced this problem before n found non-formatting solution, please post it here and share it.

At the moment, I removed the original IE icon from the desktop and created one manually which works with double-click but when click on Properties will only brings out shortcut properties, no Internet Properties.

Thanks in advance.
In fact, I brought it for photographic moment at Taman Negara, rigourous movement, scenic environment... u name it...

Will reserve to post some photo later.

Anyway, I kinda got a question here regarding the shutter priority mode of that digicam thought. At Taman Negara, armed with a tripod, at ISO 100 in shutter priority with Aperture fully opened at F7.6, the maximum shutter time is 8". Actually I wanted to snap the beautiful night sky of stars and moon, but it seems like the time for the shutter is not long enough.

According to my friend, most Canon Powershot can delay up to a few minutes !!!

Do you think it's a locked feature or hardware limitation? If locked, do you think a firmware upgrades will rectifiy it?

Need help with dhcp6s and dhcp6c

To all OSS experts, especially Fedora Core 5 user, I've got some problem with the setting up of a simple DHCPv6 server using the built-in dhcp6s service package on my PC.

Here are some of the problems that I encounter:

1# After installing the package, tested the service status with the diagnostic syntax as in the HOWTO manual, I manage to assign my eth0 (an NIC, not onboard) as the dhcp6s broadcast port.

However, my client, already with the dhcp6c installed, even with it's NIC set for use for DHCP and 'Enable IPv6 interface' ticked, it still can't receive any HELLO packet from my server.

2# The setting for my dhcpv6 server's eth0, even after save, always CHANGES. I got no idea why it always changed to something that I never assigned, as if it assigned by themselves. Is there any files, like a rc.conf (as in FreeBSD) that I can modify and save it, permanently, so that the settings for my NIC (eth0 or eth'whatever') will not change over time?

3# I believe the simplest way to confirm that my DHCPv6 server is fully functional when my client were able to receive a set of IPv6 address from the DHCPv6 server, am I right with this? Are there any better way to confirm this?

4# Besides dhcp6c, what else must the client have in order to work with the DHCPv6 server?

I really appreciate help from those who are used to working with Linux and IPv6 (this one will be rather hard)...

I'm a n00b with Linux and more so with the IPv6.

Please guide me, it's one of my Final Year Project in Uni. Thank you.

Your help is much appreciated

With regards to the topic above, I tried to access MY FM website which happened to be http://www.my.com.my as indicated by Google search.

When I keyed-in the URL and tried to access it, it can load and there's no 404 Error, but it just say that that website doesn't exist.

Then I thought it might be the browser, and I switched from Opera to Firefox and then to IE but still, problem persist.

Then I tried with some Malaysia's Proxy Server and the page still can't loaded.

I tried to ping the site but nothing returned. Request not found.

I expect the site is down or invalid.

But I MSN my friend, staying at Bangi, using Streamyx as well, she can access MY FM website !?

I was like wtf????? How come she can do it at Bangi (without proxy) while I can't from Cheras, Pandan Perdana, KL???

Perhaps I should reset my connection and wait for new IP before reattempt accessing the page?

What could be the culprit?

Please shed some lights...

I'd even Wikipedia...

I'd tried Rabuan Pit, M Jegathesan, Sejarah Olahraga, Olahragawan, Olahragawati, Sejarah Sukan Malaysia, Malaya, Tanahair...

Please, shed some idea, assignment due on Monday.

I thank in advance for relevant sources or ideas on how to search more useful results.
I love those caps and tech.

My 2cents, if u got an uber rig, losing a few fps with a nice soundcard like this won't hurt... nice showoffs piece if u got a window on your rig... the midas touch for HTPC setup...

This piece of monster is set to replace the SE90 and SE150

Source: AKIHABARANEWS.com

Of 3G, WCDMA, UMTS & FOMA

It seems like it's been a while Malaysia got their 3G services made available in Malaysia through Celcom and Maxis, both for cellular mobile access while an unlikely contender in media, miTV.

Well, let's focus on Celcom & Maxis 3G. It seems like major 3G cellphone that are backward compatible with the current GSM standard of 900 and 1800 MHz standard are UMTS-based cellphone.

UMTS is based on WCDMA technology, developed by NTT DoCoMo in their effort on 3G.

Now, NTT DoCoMo 3G got their services preped on WCDMA, we followed their standard but instead of calling it WCDMA, they name it FOMA (Freedom of Mobile Access).

Who cares what the name is about, right?

Now, we used to heard that no cellphone of GSM-based can be used, let aside roaming in the Land of The Rising Sun during the pre-3G era. Now, any UMTS based phone, be it capable or not capable of making video-calls, support roaming in most part of Japan and some part of South Korea.

Kinda cool.

My actual question is, if I got hold of a FOMA cellphone, that works on WCDMA, and slot in a Celcom or Maxis 3G SIMCARD, now, will it be usable locally?
Longer Phone Line or CAT5 UTP Cable?

Hey guys, need to seek some opinion after some research over the web on this.

Last time, my PC is situated almost next to the service point; the phone line enters from external pole outside of my house, through the lightning arrestor than straight split into 2 by an ADLS microfilter with one enters the modem and to the entire house.

Soon, my brother got married and I've gotta move out of that room and the phone line was extended from upstair to the ground floor. It was kinda okay that time for the line quality and speed. I love streamyx that time It was the fastest 512kbps without any modem package.

Now my connection is shitty at 1Mbps; my communication knowledge shows that at higher data rate, it's more susceptible to noise and line quality drop almost instantaneously as i'm reaching towards the end of the 5km range from the exchange.

Attenuation goes up to a whopping 60dB and SNR is single digit, 3~4 dB only. This is really bad from the technical point of view, data packet drops is so high and the line as suffers from frequent disconnection.

+_+_+_+ UPSTAIR REVISITED +_+_+_+_+

Now after 2 years of moving downstairs, i decided to try my ADSL connection back at the upstairs. UNBELIEVABLE, the line is rocksteady, SNR shoots up back to 25dB and Attenuation discounted to 35dB !!! That was cool.

But the thing is I can't go online in my brother's room now. Private Space.

I thought of putting the modem as close as possible to the service point & microfilter then pull CAT5 instead around the house.

The phone line would be the easier way but I doubt signal entering my house after countless insertion of wall plugs, i believe the quality would be pretty bad. But I lacked a phone line tester to back my claims on this.

I got a hypothesis that If the path between the service line and the ADSL modem is closer, the phone line would be less susceptible to noise. Then from the ADSL, I've got Internet streams AMPLIFIED by the ADSL and transferred via CAT5 throughout the house (typically the CAT5 could run 100m and my house size is just a fraction of it).

But, would CAT5 really make a difference here? I donno. I can't afford a FLUKE to test it.

I plan to DIY all this but I need some input here:

1) How much per metre of good quality (2 cores) phone line vs good quality CAT5 UTP cable?
2) Which one is more feasible or suitable?

BTW, at present, I've already got phone lines laid from upstairs to downstairs then reroute back to the entire house.

Thanks in advance

TOTALLY INACCESIBLE (Streamyx)

This situation had been bugging my PC since I changed my modem.

-SITUATION-

The problem used to be no connection from the Streamyx eventhough the SHOWTIME on my then 305EU is showing a nice 1024/384 speed.

But PPP was never succeed. Complain after complain, they send a technician here and listen to the phone for some noise and immediately say that I should change to a new modem for it might have aged.

I discounted that but since nothing works, I end up buying a DLINK DSL-500T.

Thanks God, I got back my connection but the connection never as good as before.

-PROBLEM 1#-

In fact, it post-up a status reading of (DOWN/UP):

SNR: 1 / 5 (dB)
Att: 51 / 43 (dB)

Worse huh? The line was so crappy that all of a sudden, the connection fails...

And the funny part is status page sometimes display:

SNR: 2147569978 / 5 (dB)
Att: 51 / 43 (dB)

What kinda shit is that? SNR at that level? So resilient to noise with an alcheapo modem?

I wonder what's wrong with the modem, I'd even flashed with the latest Firmware from DLINK but the problem still persist despite added a few improvement.

So what's wrong with my settings? Any idea?

-PROBLEM 2#-

I know that Streamyx recently posted something like an upgrade/maintenance that prolonged from 5th to 19th Sept. I don't expect any healthy connection to the international sites.

But the problem is all my other friend who've got Streamyx were able to access to sites that I can't. I tried using a proxy and it works but too bad certain sites can't allowed me to login.

Some of the sites are (local + international):

Friendster
webmail.tm.net.my
Streamyx POP3 server (pop.streamyx.com)
webmessenger.msn.com
www.msn.com
www.microsoft.com
www.time.net.my
www.time.com.my
www.hotmail.com

There's more but this are the important one that I can't access to, anyway to solve it? I would have accept it with open hearted if the problem got to do with the upgrading thingy but all my friends with Streamyx can access to it without any problem at all !!!

-PROBLEM 3#-
Since my Windows Live Messenger (I participated in the BETA testing of the Yahoo! interchat thingy) couldn't login and that infamous two error popup, I resort to use Yahoo! Messenger with Voice instead to counter the problem.

But some of my contact is still with WLM Hotmail passport, so I tried to log into that webmessenger thingy but it fails to work (suspect it's international connection issue).

But again my friends were not having any of this problems that I encounter.

Any idea what I should do?

Is it the time for me to give a call to the Streamyx there to rectify the problem?

Or was it a problem based on my personal settings? I really need some idea what sort of thing that I do will causes such problem.

-QUESTION-
Where can I get those phone copper line (2 strands) for wiring? I plan to rewire the present wiring works because I'm afraid it's the phone line quality.

Any gadget that can test the quality of the phone line end-to-end? I won't afford a state-of-art Network Tester like those FLUKE type.

How to complain to the Streamyx there to make them check my last mile connection from my house to the exchange? They don't seems to layan me because of one complainant only, don't expect me to do a petition on this

Thanks in advance...
[WTFind] SPALDING Sportwears

I used to have a pair of Spalding shorts, for both sports and daily wear. Compare with other local brands like Antioni (uncomfortable fabric), Forest (lousy fabric), Cheetah (uncomfortable fabric and thin), it seems like this pair of Spalding lasted a good 5 years before showing signs of fading and worn off.

Anybody know where to get it? Nike/adidas/Reebok apparel is so out of reach, Spalding price had been quite reasonable. It seems like the brand hardly appears in sport stuffs shop, only the basketball left... perhaps no more distro?
