Help!...Cannot connect to the internet

My friend is using Billion Bipac 5112s modem supply by Tmnet, everything is ok for 1 computer to connect using dial up streamyx, recently he bought a notebook and a Dlink 8 ports switch using RJ-45 network cable to connect but cannot connect on both his desktop and notebook.

Help is needed. Please advice.

My bro..applied streamyx...modem received was Billion brand....but cannot login to it settings....(192.168.1.254) ...its locked......
any sifu out there......or any ppl using this modem.

I am using Dlink 714+ at my office........

all my cable network is no problem..but

my friends wifi notebook cannot access to the web ...although a network key was given to them

the router obtain for their wifi notebook will be ...169.x.x.x

but not 192.168.0.X which i set on my router......

how can i set .....on my router ...without setting a ip address on their notebook

Powerlogic powersupply
Samsung 80GB HDD
Samsung CD Rom
3D Trio 4MB Graphic Card

New HDD with Clean installed with Windows ME ...... for My childrens
Downloaded all driver from Gigabyte website (VGA/INF/IAA)
try using an add in S3virge Trio ...also hang after 5 Mins
