Artland and Ishiguro spent over a decade animating more than 100 episodes of Galactic Heroes. Longtime Studio Nue mechanical designer Kazutaka Miyatake (Macross, Orguss, Gunbuster, Eureka Seven) will work on the mechanics.

Koji Ito (Cybuster, Full Metal Panic!, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor) will collaborate with Miyatake on the mechanical designs and work as chief director under Ishiguro. Susumu Aketagawa (Legend of the Galactic Heroes: My Conquest is the Sea of Stars, Phoenix 2772 - Space Firebird, Barefoot Gen movies) will direct the sound. Sanzigen, the company best known for the 3D computer graphics in Gurren Lagann, will handle the CG.

The series will start in October on NHK's BS-2 satellite channel and run every Thursday at 11:32 p.m. Ishiguro first revealed the development of the project at Anime Expo 2003. Hiroaki Adachi of Tanaka's Wright Staff management firm then indicated that the anime was moving forward in March. Artist Guntetsu has been drawing a manga version in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine since March.

Almost the whole team from the original SDF macross is here except Shouji Kawamori himself who's probably busy with Frontier. And Tanaka who did the LoGH....this anime has big potential to be epic win. Can't wait.

I personally think that this guy's just ranting and troll baiting. Fansubber ARE NOT professional translators....period. All the points he makes, most viewers these day don't evencare about them IMHO. Granted some points were made but i felt he took the worse examples of bad fansubs and showcased them in this mockumentary.

Just like I suspected, aisp@ce is planned to be an online interactive community service in the fashion of Second Life, except it will feature bishojo game characters in 3D! So far the game titles involved in the project are: CLANNAD, Shuffle, and Da Capo II.

The basic idea of aisp@ce is you spend a virtual life with your favorite heroine in the world that looks just like the games. For example, the town of Da Capo is full of sakura trees. Each person participating will have a partner girl who you can dress the way you like and eventually a house to decrate. The girl wil follow you around giving reactions to what you do. They are even working on an set of scripts so they can talk as if they have an AI.

After the preparations are done, it's time to go out to the town to communicate with the other players online! The methods of interacting with the characters and other players are still under development, but they said they want to intergrate as much ideas the fans want. But the graphics of the game is seriously looking nice and smooth, especially the virtual town of Akihabara!

Other than the game companies, Visual Arts, Navel, and Circus, there are several companies who are leading the project. Those companies are Dwango, who made the Nico Nico video website, Headlock, one of the few Japanese companies that made successful original MMORPGs, and trading card game company, Bushiroad. If there is anyone who can make this project happen, it must be those 3 companies who knows about communication tools uniting people!

Some of the other noteworthy news is that the theme song will be sung by the queen of bishojo game songs (personal opinion), KOTOKO. Everything else is pretty much still under development, including the cost of the game. It maybe monthly fee based or free to just log in. The items in the world may cost money or maybe achieved through mini-games. The virtual world of Akiba might show advertisments or sell actual goods.

Here are more snapshots from the annoucement session. But too bad at the Q&A time, people were asking boring and realistic questions like, "do you have plans for security measures against cheaters and selling in-game items in real life?"
