acer aspire 4520 boot problem

hi there. i need help.
last night, i cant boot up my laptop. the power button stays green for like 3 secs, then it shut downs, with nothing on screen.

some history:
1. the laptop was difficult to boot for the past 3 months ago. it stays green but nothing on screen. i have to press on and off quite a lot of times before it can be boot up. and last night it wont boot at all.
2. the dvd rom cannot be detected in both bios and windows for the past 3 months.
3. the soundcard also cannot be detected (i had to buy a usb soundcard)

i've googled but there are still no solution found. tried everything from ram removal, ac power and battery thing, pressing power for 30 secs, but still failed.

now, is there anyone here facing the same problem with acer laptops, and did solve this problem?
and, is there any way to convert the laptop internal harddisk into external?

penang megamall arcade

penang people. i have a question.

in penang megamall there were 2 arcades. one is CYC, another one is TKA. i went there just now and wtf TKA closed. all the cabs r gone, and there are like some wiring and shits inside. now my question is, is TKA closed or moved to another place? TKA is my favourite because of the 'dodonpachi daioujou' cab there, so far ive found only 1.

anyone knows?

wierd display stripes (photo included)

got these stripes couple of weeks ago. i believe the problem is monitor (not display card) because the stripes appears right after powering the computer. if i tilted the monitor towards me, the stripes disappear like 1 sec. then appear again. tried playing with cable, no luck.

monitor is samsung 795mb.
display card is 8800gt.

hi there.
im looking for shoot em up(shmup) games in arcade. can anyone give me a short list of shmups games which available in malaysia. doesnt matter in KL, JB, perlis etc etc.

shmup : not to be confused with first person shooter like quake, counterstrike, half life, doom etc. shmups games are like raiden, gradius.
specifically im looking for these games : ketsui, mushihimesama futari, deathsmiles, raiden 4 and espgaluda 2.

{URGENT} Partition

before format, i use norton partition magic and repartition some of my hdisk.
i have 2 hdisk. lets say, A and B. both 80gigs.

A- 3 partition, B- 1 partition.

after format the C drive located in disk A, and reinstall winxp, i cant see disk B.

my question is, is my drive completely clean after creating partition using win partition? i dont want it to be clean, got loads of stuff there!

please help.

i got this annoying email scanning from symantec scanner. this occurs right after i connect to internet.

when symantec scans the mail, it means that there IS an email that r going to be sent. but what kinda email is it? this thing didnt happen before, UNTIL i installed a VPN program (didnt remember what program though).

anyone can help?

Problem details
First occurence of problem: today
Problem frequency: every 10 mins
Problem description: the line was ok (not blinking), got connected as usual. but after ten minutes or so, the connection seems hang, cant receive and sending anything over net. switch off the modem and reconnect, ok, then ten mins later, same shits. any idea? or anyone who can solve this, link me to the thread (if available).

ok. i format my pc today. before format, i usually connect thru dial up within windows xp networking. but after format, the modem auto connect right after logon to windows. theres no notification at all. and when i logon to modem (192.168.1.1), i see that my connection is already connected (which means auto connect via modem). so, how to disable it?

scandisk at startup

last night, i accidentaly switch off the comp plug. at that time, the comp was at the 'welcome' screen. after re-on the comp, there was a scandisk at drive E (not OS drive) right before welcome screen. after that, normal.

but just now i switch on the comp, there still a scandisk for E before welcome screen. how to skip this once and for all?

yes, u CAN use streamyx with tm prepaid and the best part is, when your prepaid is expired, U STILL CAN USE STREAMYX, like mine right now.

and, with this, u can save a lot, i mean a lot of money. tm fixed line = rm25 just for sewa , not including how much u talk. tm prepaid= rm20/month and just like prepaid u use in hp. so i recommend this method for everyone (not 4 ppl who like to sembang2 over phone of coz).
