being a fanatic of AiC over the past decade, i was surprised to discover that they have released a new album. how can AiC function without Layne Staley? would the abscence of the trademark harmony vocals of Staley and Jerry Cantrell affect their music?

i think they still sound like the old AiC. William DuVall, the new vocalist, still carries Layne Staley's style and high pitched drawl. Dude looks like Lenny Kravitz some may say that he's merely impersonating Staley and sings in an AiC karaoke band, but i honestly love the album. can't have lots of changes to the classic AiC style or it wouldn't sound like them. my favourite song from the album would be the slow Private Hell. the song could fit right in the album Jar of Flies.

Guitar Luthier (handmade) in SS15

I don't have the exact address, but if you are familiar with SS15, near Taylor's? there's a mini shopping mall in there. The store is on the second floor. Its not a big mall, so ur sure to find it. The shop also sells SXs, second hands, and does repairs. Its opened rather late, around 12 ish and the owner is simon. Check it out!

"Just dropping in to say how happy I am to have found an absolute gem. My guy has been talking non-stop about his friend who was a luthier, right. And this guy was an apprentice of some big nob in Canada or sumthin. So, he has returned to Malaysia and is currently producing ABSOLUTELY BLOODY BRILLIANT ACOUSTIC GUITARS!!! My friend took in 4 of 'em to help him sell them. There was also a second hand min Takamine on sale at his shop. I triep the Takamine first, great sound, deep bass and so on. But I wasn't gonna expect what happened next. I strummed an E' on this locally made guitar and I was shocked. It was georgeous. I felt like I was playing a RM5000 Taylor. The neck was smooth (slim), it was slightly small and light but the bass and tone was out of this world. I'm not really good at describig how guitars sound like. But once you play this baby, you'd know immediately that it was first class hand made sh*t..

The guitar goes by the name Free Man (the surname of his master I think - Freeman)
it retails at around RM1800 <--- worth every penny

Silent - here's one of mine. it sounds fine on my pc, but crap when played on my hi-fi. i need to learn how to properly mix and master recordings. a lot of the parts in this song was lifted from various songs coz i lack the creativity
Filtered Sense - an old song. crap sound... but i loved the drum beats. sadly i lost the fruityloops file and have no time to re-create it. forgive the fret-wanking.
Fearful Solution - another old song, remade. No solos, coz i'm trying to focus on the overall sound. i think this is the best sounding song i have ever made. heavy guitars, heavy drums.
