I'm not sure if this has been posted before, since it's a blog post dated back to October 2008. If it has been posted before, it doesn't really matter because he definitely worth an annual mention. I'm left with no words seeing someone driving such an expensive car to not know how to read the handicap symbol, let alone read the "orang kurang upaya". Parking a space allocated for the handicapped. Wrong. Parking on two parking spaces allocated for the handicapped, with just one car, and you're not handicapped. What else can I say?

Scanner to digitize old photos

AIO Canon MP145 is at around RM190, CanoScan LiDE 100 at RM260. I'm not sure if these AIO scanner is good enough for me to scan old printed photos, or I need something more dedicated like the LiDE 100, which has a lot of positive reviews. It's more expensive though, and without a printer.

I have opened similar thread in /k/'s Q&A and the photography section, but response are not encouraging, so I thought I should open one here.

Which scanner is is good at digitizing old photos? Most of them doesn't comes with their negative (god knows where they went), so I only need a scanner to scan the photo directly. Need something that is not too expensive, at most around 400 maybe?

Also, what other tools do I need? Can I use the cloth that comes with my spectacles to clear the dust on the photos before scanning? Or I need a dedicated tool for that?

Is there any old photo digitizing service provider around KL area? Those who will do all the dirty work to scan all the old photos and compile them nicely in a DVD or something, so that you could store them on your computer or upload it?

Toshiba Laptop Won't Start

If I'm not mistaken, it's a Toshiba Satellite M50 (laptop not mine, unsure). Pressing the "power" button equals to nothing. There is no response at all. The led did light up when I plug the AC, but that's all.

My mom use it for dramas. The night before, my mom use it as usual, then shutdown and went to bed. My aunt says there are still light from the laptop but I didn't bother her (lol). Any chances that my mom didn't shut it down properly and it overheats? It's placed in an aircond room anyways.

Portable 3G Wifi Modem

Here's the situation. Say I were to subscribe to Celcom's Home, Hop & Away, I will receive a data-only simcard. There is no way to integrate the Celcom BB into my existing Celcom prepaid (UOX) simcard, meaning I cannot enjoy the broadband on my phone unless I swap the simcard.

The thing is, I want to get online using my phone on the go, without the need of swapping simcard.

What I'm thinking is, to get a 3G modem that will create a Wi-Fi hotspot. Sort of a Wi-Fi modem, for 3G broadband, and portable too (powered by battery perhaps).

What products in the market currently that comes closest to my imagination?

P/s: Perhaps an external 3G modem that can connect to my phone? The closest thing I can think about is to get an S60 phone and install Joikuspot on it, but the phone would probably cost too much, and not that portable (2 phones in one pocket doesn't sound comfortable).

Having random muscle twitch all over my body for quite some time, months if not a year or two, can't really remember. It gets more frequent now. Not sure if it's related but there are 2 or 3 times where I have bad head posture and I feel the pain like the nerves are getting puleed or something.

I'd need quite a large sum of money for education purpose soon, and I'm wondering how this home refinancing thing works. I get pretty confused as in some threads, some claims that their BLR are around 1.8%, while other threads it's around 5.55%. I guess these both are totally different thing, but I just couldn't understand.

My house is at least 20 years old. How do they determine the market value of it, and how much will the banks be willing to borrow? How do I calculate the interest rate and installments per month?

Say I'd like to borrow RM240k, in 20 years term, how much would be the monthly installments, roughly?

Hello there, I need some help here to clear my doubts on this interest thing. I need around RM200k, but for education loan, bank will only approve a maximum of RM100k. Is it possible or ideal to borrow RM100k from each bank? If yes, when do I start paying them back? I heard that for the first 18 months, I will only need to pay for the interest, is that true?
