Changing Car Battery

Just now while i was changing my car battery, when i put the red connector back to the battery, the car alarm starts to make noise as soon as the red connector touches the battery. Is it normal or am i doing something wrong?

either way i connect, it causes the alarm to make noise and produce sparks..

Hi..

I want to ask..Anyone here had a combined wedding function?Meaning that both the girls and boys side rented a hall and settled the function at one go rather than 2 separate functions? How did it go? Also if the bride and groom are from different race but same religion, will a combined wedding function work for them? As the culture of both sides are different..

Anyone know where to buy cottage cheese? I am thinking of trying it out..

I was looking for it just now at cold storage in ikano. Found 1 which was around rm19. I was checking the nutrition facts and noticed it just provides 9g of protein per 100g of cheese if i am not mistaken. I wasnt sure whether that was the correct cottage cheese that is always being mentioned in this forum..

Anyone who has purchased it before, please specify from where u purchased it..

Hi,

When purchasing PS3, does it come with wireless controller or is it wired? If there is a wireless controller, is the signal strong? as the PS3 will be placed behind/next to the sofa.

The same goes for the remote. Does it have a strong signal?

Hi,

I am curious about the maybank easy payment scheme. Lets say I have a card with the limit rm5000. And I purchase an item worth rm5000 via the credit card using the 12 month easy payment scheme.Meaning I have to pay around rm417 a month for 12 months.

My question here is will I be able to purchase other items after this or I would have to wait till I finish the payment of rm5000?

Hi All,

I guess its my turn to start the HT thread...So here goes...

My aim is to have my own home theater at my living room in my new house (11th Floor Condo). This thread will be my so called logs/updates of the task that has been done to date..

Item's List

1. Projector - Optoma HD65 - Purchased from htkaki (LYN) (friendly and polite guy..100% recommended)
2. HDMI cable - 10meter - Purchased from ngbh (LYN) (no comments on this guy coz duno whether he sold it to me or subordinate. The person who sold it to me was friendly)
3. A/V Receiver - Yamaha V663 - Purchased from Legend SS2 and collected from Legend Sri Petaling
4. Speakers - Mordaunt Short - Bought from the HIFI Shop at One U. Complete!
5. Speaker Cables - Complete!
5. Gaming - XBOX - Purchased from Djinn (LYN - Gamershideout) long time back
6. Gaming/Bluray - PS3 - Complete!

Current Status (April 9 2008)

Purchased the projector from htkaki today. Tried to test it around 5pm today..But was unable to do so because of the sun lighte. Was unable to see the output clearly..However, I tried it around 7pm..it was a WOW! Quality was great! I placed the projector 3 feet from the floor and projected it to the white wall in the living room. The length of the picture stretched to the whole wall..I tested it with animatrix, terminator and moonlight through my laptop connecting via S-Video cable. 100% satisfied with it. Did not take any pix..Will try again tomorrow and grab some pix and post it here

Issues Arising:

1. Sun light is high..Need to figure out how to reduce it so that I can watch during the day as well..Probably tinting the sliding door in at the balconay
2. How to mount the projector to the ceiling Using the pipe tube?

Future

Tomorrow, the contractor will come and do the electrical wiring at the ceiling for the living room (lighting's,fan, projector power point). Not forgetting, the main door grill..that will be done tomorrow too..I am gonna ask the guy to pull the HDMI cable through the ceiling. I will be extending the living room wall with extra 2 feet..That's when the placement of the projector will be decided.

Currently I am looking to buy a projector screen..but if I am unable to find a suitable one, I plan to DIY. From what I understand, I need a blackout cloth. Anyone know where to find it in KL? also, what is the correct word for blackout cloth in malay? I assume the shop staff wouldnt know bout it if I say blackout cloth..
