Dell Inspiron 1420 Having Partition Problem

hi,

wonder if someone can help me solve this urgent issue.
i just bought a dell inspiron 1420 about a month ago, running windows vista home basic. standard package.
i wasn't quite like the original partitioning, so, i took the original windows cd provided and reformatted it to only two partitions, namely drive 'C' & 'D'. drive 'C' was mainly for O/S and program files where drive 'D' keeps all my important data files. and the media direct partition was 'totally removed' as far as i could see from my computer properties.

today morning, out of sudden, the drive 'D' went missing.. no error messages, no warning, and guess what, the 3GB media direct partition had replaced the drive 'D'. i checked from disk partition manager and found out there are now three partitions, the 'C', media direct and my original drive 'D' but without any drive letter. i can reactivate or make this 'invisible' partition visible.. the only option i have is to format.

called dell customer services but they are not working over weekend (perhaps, my warranty terms).
really need some guidances as how to resolve this issue, i can reformat everything which may help but my data...

Dopod D810 WM6 Upgrade Post-Mortom

Perhaps, it would be good to have a new thread for all the post-mortom stuffs discussed here, specifically dedicated for Dopod D810 aka HTC Trinity owner who has yet to flash the new rom, in the midst of flashing, or already upgraded to new rom.

Significant Improvement
1. Windows booting up faster (well, i'm satisfied with the speed as compared to wm5)
2. Office Mobile
3. Least application clashing (I used to have frequent clash for some application, perhaps, it was due to the .net cf version i had)
4. Battery draining issue seem improved.
5. HSDPA switch? (not try yet)

Application that working fine with both WM5 & WM6
1. Mapking 2007 (build 0131)
2. TCPMP
3. GSFinder+
4. PHM RegEdit
5. Resco Photo Viewer Pro
6. Pocket e-Sword
7. SKTools
8. HTCustom 1.7
9. CE Star 2.8r2
10. Wifi connection

Application that working fine with WM5 but not WM6
1. GSPlayer - able to play song, not able to browse to other file folder such as up/down a level
2. Outlook email sycn to Storage Card - registry tweak to specify email and attachment location (i.e. PropertyPath & AttachPath) no longer working, even with existing "Save attachments to this Storage Card" option turned on.
3. MSN Messenger (now Windows Live Mesenger) crashed with CE-Star 2.8 r2/r3, not able to login with WIFI/GPRS connection.

Application that not working fine with WM5 but WM6
1. Change of Default Input Method - previously with WM5, the registry tweak doesn't works, need to apply 3rd party program load at startup.

"Irritating" Improvement (well, for me)
1. Windows Live Messenger requires you to import all msn contacts into PPC Contacts, otherwise, you can't connect to msn. wtf?? I saw someone complaint that if you removed them from your PPC, it may ended up removing your msn contacts too.

After all, it is still a good upgrade. What say you?

as we need to see WM's Today screen everytime we power up our device, i think i would be interesting if we can share it with LYN forumers.

tell us wut software/tools you had loaded on today's screen if you don't mind.

plugin: rlToday. check this out if you are adventurous!
skin: spider3 theme

programs (from left to right, top to bottom)

6. Games (shortcut link to Games folder, still failed to configure this shortcut)
