USB 2.0 Transfer Rate

Guys,

I'm always having this problem in which the USB2.0 rate drops to 1MB/sec after a few sec whenever i'll do large data transfer from my PC HDD to my mobile HDD backup. Any recommendations to speed it up back?

HD DVD - Counting the days...

Warner Bros had announced that they will no longer support HD DVD in the future and now New Line did the same thing. Just wondering how long HD DVD can maintain its existence with these blows one after another... Adoiii!

"Las Vegas (NV) - New Line Cinema, a sister company of Warner Bros, has confirmed that it will follow the move to go exclusively to Blu-ray Disc.

At last night's Blu-ray CES press conference, Warner Home Video president Ron Sanders said that, although Warner Bros decided to no longer support HD DVD, other Time Warner entertainment companies would be making their own decisions.

A representative for New Line told us that it has officially stopped producing HD DVD titles, effective immediately.

The move is likely to make Pan's Labyrinth a rare HD DVD. The movie was released on both formats late last year, and it will be moved off the HD DVD production line with all of Warner's titles. It will live in infamy as the only New Line title to be released on HD DVD."

Wifi Antenna

guys,

My PC wifi signal is quite weak (around 1/5 to 2/5) as the PC located downstair while the wifi router is placed at the first floor of my house. I'm using Aztech 600EW (b/g) wifi router and Netgear wrt311v3 PCI (b/g) wifi adapter. No issues with the Aztech as i can get full bar if i'm using laptop at the first floor. So need recommendation as below:

1. Need to change the antenna to higher dB (7db?). Which brand is good and how much?
2. Which is more cost efficient - change antenna at Wifi Router or at Wifi Adapter? .... Or change BOTH?

I bought Asus Vento casing from you guys 4 weeks ago. Last weekend the USB port located at the front panel is broken. It is two port with top-bottom arrangement. Do you have replacement for that USB port? Please quote me the price as well.

Wifi PCI Adapter Problem

Guys,

Need help here. My wifi adapter keep 'missing' from being detected by Vista. When i boot the PC and vista starting up, the wifi icon dissappear from the bottom-right bar. I check with the 'Device Manager' and it mentioned that the device is having problems.

Resolution at this moment is to re-boot the PC again and wallaa.... Vista can detect back the wifi adapter!!! The 'Device Manager' mentioned that the device is working properly. And this thing keep happening from time to time.

So need help : whether the wifi PCI card, wifi driver, Vista issue or the mobo itself??

Any advice on buying GBA SP from the game shop? anything for me to look on the the built quality or things that i should avoid. I'm buying for my kid's birthday this month. There is price difference from shops to shops - some offer low price with lotsa extras and some offer quite high price for the equipment only - that made me wonder and request help here. thanks for the help.

Replacing Harddisk

Guys,

I really need to replace my current notebook HDD due to its limited capacity and old age. I couldn't afford to lose any of the data and the software applications installed in the current HDD. All the software installed is original but most of the installation cd is nowhere to be find ..including the XP Professional . Any solution that can replicate the current HDD into the new one so that i can install the new HDD without re-installing all the software back.

Any help is appreciated.

Even the mobile operators are thinking of throttling the bandling to minimise bandwidth hogging by P2P 'enthusiasts'. Nokia has already a solution for mobile operators. Taken fron The Star:

"KUALA LUMPUR: Nokia is introducing a network solution that lets operators control the use of network resources by bandwidth hungry applications such as file sharing and Voice over IP telephony.

The solution gives operators the tools to maintain better control over their networks, the company said.

The Nokia Peer-to-peer Traffic Control is an integrated solution to allow mobile operators to profitably manage the bandwidth available for peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic, and thus balance the allocation of network resources, it added.

The centralised solution is implemented as a software upgrade to the Nokia Flexi Intelligent Service Node (ISN) and will be commercially available during the first half of 2007. "With the explosion of affordable high-speed mobile data access, operators are now being challenged to make the best possible use of their networks, especially when peer-to-peer applications increase their traffic load and compete with their own services," said Roberto Loiola, vice president, marketing and sales networks at Nokia."
