bah. office internet connection too slow. cannot even download any price list. sad.

my current rig is
june 2005 dell rig.
single core intel pentium 4 3.0ghz 800mb fsb 2mb L2 cache
3.5gb ddr 2 ram
sapphire ati hd 4670 gddr4 ram

with the following new rig, the l2 cache is same, the fsb is higher, the clock speed is same, but 4 cores instead of one core + ht.
performance will increase, yes?

for purpose of modest gaming.
as long as average frame per second can be 30-40 ++ on 1280 x 1024 / 1024 x 768 i will be happy.

scroll all the way down, frame per second difference for games not really that significant.

so, the above combination, got problem or not? compatible? athlon ii x2 250 processor okay or not? long lasting if no over lock it? the stock processor fan / cooler / heat sink okay oh?

based on:

single core P4 3.0ghz with HT 800mhz FSB 2MB L2 cache
3.5GB ddr2 ram mobo capped at 533mhz
sapphire ati hd 4670 512 mb gddr4 ram

Dragon Age: Origins - new game
- fast loading time
(with no intro movies, less than 10 seconds to access main menu)
(load save game, mostly less than 30 seconds, depends on area size, smaller area loads much faster, can be less than 10 seconds)
- acceptable fps (30++ average)
(1280 x 1024, high textures, high details, no AA, vsync on)

Mass Effect - somewhat old game
- very slow loading time
(intro movies cannot disable, 2 minutes to access main menu, with demon tools uninstalled)
(load game, the first area takes 40++ seconds)
- unacceptable fps (10++ average)
(640 x 480, low particles, low textures)

bah! those who played mass effect on PC, what specs is your rigs?

today, i discovered some post of mine, the image html tag became faulty on its on for dunno what reason.

broken link checker plugin picked up some "broken links" so i checked and found out the .jpg extension is missing from the img src tags.

when i click on the [insert number] Replies from the main page to jump to the comment section of the post, a pop up window by linkbucks.com will appear.

i experienced this 2 times liao, 1 at home pc, 1 at office pc.

is my home / office pc infected, or my wordpress blog ?

i just auto updated my wordpress blog to latest version 2.8.5

got updated some plugins, removed some too.

could anyone check if they got linkbucks pop ups opening up if they browse my blog, so i will know if my blog or my home / office pc is infected.

then i google for fable 2, realized that it was released last year 2008 on xbox 360.

then saw some article stating that lionhead will not release fable 2 to pc.

so now it is oct 2009. almost a year has passed liao.

will there be fable 2 for pc?

GEORGE TOWN: Credit card debtors are now seeking the aid of “collusive merchants” to help them pay off their fully utilised credit limit to save on overdue interest.

State Commercial Crime chief Asst Comm Roslee Chik said there have been four such cases in the state over the past three months alone.

He said, through this tactic, credit card debtors save between 6% and 14% on overdue interest imposed by banks.

“Banks usually charge 18% per annum on the principal amount but still allow you to continue using your card if you pay the minimum charges monthly.

“In this case, if the debtor fully utilises the credit limit of RM10,000, the ‘collusive merchant’ will help them clear the payment in one sum.

“The credit card holder will have to pay the ‘merchant’ RM1,800 (18%) in cash,” he said.

ACP Roslee said the “merchants” would then pretend to be electrical companies and “create” a transaction for the purchase of electrical goods worth RM10,000 in an easy payment plan, to be paid in instalments between one and three years.

“For Easy Payment, banks charge card holders only 4% interest per year.

“So if you pay in one year, you’re paying only 4% interest instead of 18%, plus you can pay the RM10,000 in monthly instalments.

“If you’re paying via Easy Payment for three years, you’re paying only 12% (3x4%) instead of 54% (3x18%) interest,” he said, adding that the “merchant” earned RM1,800 per transaction.

ACP Roslee said the “merchants” could be charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code with fraud while the card holder could be charged under the same Act for abetting the merchant.
