help and support center error

dear forummers,

my winxp pro sp2 got funny error. in help & support center, inside the index pane is empty with only a red x on top. usually this left pane or space displays titles of os files.

also when click related topics, nothing happens.

steps i've taken:

1. updated my winxp pro sp2.

2. done win os repair.

3. updated my nod32, scanned hdd: no virus.

4. updated my adaware pro, scanned hdd: no spyware.

ayoyo, how la to solve this problem . ur help is very much appreciated & thanks in advance.

software to protect folders in Windows Xp SP2

hi again dear forummers. i hope everybody's doing fine.

wanna ask something. what's the software that guards folders & files for Windows Xp? that is when u click the folder, a rectangular box displays asking for a password. exactly like the one in Windows 2000.

i've used PC Security, Folder Guard, Magic Folders, etc.. but i discovered that it's a bit fussy. for example PC Security, when u click a folder that's protected by that software, a message displays stating **** is not accessible. Access is denied. I have to right click that folder, put the cursor on PC Security tab, click unlock then only a box displays telling me to key in the password.

No doubt, PC Security is very good & can protect folders, files & drives, even lock the whole system. It can lock or unlock anything on ur pc on scheduled times. It's so good that it even gives out an alarm sound if somebody keys in the wrong password, more number of times than u configured. It can lock the internet immediately or when surfing more than the specified time. It would even keep a history of how many times an incorrect password was used, together with the names of the incorrect passwords used for the viewing of the owner of the pc.

But i want something much simpler, yet can protect folders exactly the same manner like Windows 2000 does. hopefully, my respected friends here can enlighten me on this. thanks.

Artnet 56k internal modem

hissssss.... hi dear bros. need ur help here.

there's this Artnet internal modem fitted on mobo MSI KM 4-MV. os is windows xp sp 2. when logging to internet, it always says no dial tone. what could be the problem?

steps i've taken:

1. installed driver that came with the disc.

2. in modem properties:
a. device working properly.
b. device usage enabled.
c. query modem successful.
d. using com port 4 & irq 3
e. conflicting device list = no conflicts
f. maximum port speed = 115200. tried to lower it, same problem.

3. my internet line is ok coz i personally use external modem & it connects to internet very easy.

i checked & rechecked everything in bios & modem properties. i think everything's set correctly but why still no dial tone.

u see this modem & pc belongs to a friend. he knows pc only little. i told him his modem spoilt. so first time he went to Sri Computers where he bought the modem, he managed to get a different modem, similar model & brand. i tested it, no dial tone. he went back there twice more. he told me the staff there tested the modem & it seems to connect to internet. but when he brought it back, i tested it. same problem, no dial tone.

so i need help from u bros.

hi there my bros,

now i pulak got this problem, really need your help.

it's about my canon s200sp printer. been using it about 6 yrs, never gave me problems before. now it can't print any text or graphics, even test print also cannot.

steps i've taken:

1. use new full ink tanks. no print.

2. installed the driver that came with the printer. no print.

3. updated the driver from canon website but couldn't find compatible driver to the canon s200sp. only found drivers for canon s200, 200e & 200x. tried with those drivers, still no print.

i know my printer is cheap & old but it's still working. paper can come out but cannot print. if this problem can be solved, i can save some money from buying new printer. can use that money for other important things.

really need ur help my bros. thanks.

Audiobox A500

i'm just wondering if anybody here using Audiobox A500 speakers. it's a 2.1 setup. i bought it for rm115, more than 3 yrs ago. i'm asking this coz i didn't notice any forummers stating it in their signatures. also it seems, reviews of it are scarce & i able to find only 1 review of it in indonesian language that i understand.

if anybody here using it, what's ur comment on the speaker design & sound quality?

greetings bros,

now my pc pulak ada problem. everytime i on my pc, chkdsk auto starts on e: drive. i have 2 sata harddisk, divided into 4 partitions.

steps i've taken,

1. system restore, cannot solve.
2. last known configuration dat works, serupa jugak.
3. use ccleaner & wintools pro to scan for issues, nothing.
4. use nod32 & adaware pro & scan in safe mode, very clean.
5. let de chkdsk run till finish but next time on pc de chkdsk runs again.

when i check device manager, both hardisks no problem & is enable. but 1 of hardisk, de enable tab is blurred out & cannot change it. de other hardisk, de tab is not blurred & can be change.

is dis normal & how to stop de chkdsk from auto starting everytime i on my pc? manyak susah ini macam. tolong ya, my bros.

wanna ask from valued forummers,

1. from dis result did he pass de exam or not? coz at de end of de slip there was no grading. yet he can continue to go to form 4.

2. would my sister's son later gets a pmr certificate, u know the one with results printed on thick paper?

3. what kind of courses dat he can take next year in form 4?

4. can he get a reasonable job in future with dis kind of result?

5. is it de practice of de education ministry nowadays to allow students with such result to continue to form 4? if so, what do u think is de reason?

during my school years, dat exam was called lower certificate of education and if students gets dis kind of result during my time, de students failed.

my head's blur right now. can't lay out proper questions. hope forummers can understand. dis is sumthing sad for me to greet year 2007.

Bios corrupt

My mobo Abit Nf7-s. Dunno la what happened, bios corrupt pulak. Pc cannot boot. Never happened to me before.

Can anybody flash bios for me? I'm in KL city. I'm not asking for free, lo.. I'll pay.

Abit NF7-s problem

Hi, everyone.

My nf7-s mobo got big problem. Bios no words, only show scrambled lines & dots and stopped halfway. Never happened before, pc can't boot. Specifications as in my signature.

Tried several times pulling out power supply cable, clear cmos & took out battery but still problem.

Pls help. I love this pc so much have lots of data. Thanks.
