Folder in EXT HDD turned into File (32KB)

Hey guys, I need help here. I was just surfing the net and using the computer as usual, then windows ask me to scan disk for error for the external drive, i click ok. then scan scan scan, then it says that unrecoverable system error. blablabla.

i found out that some of my folder in the external harddisk has turned into an a file, unaccessible. if i double click it, it will ask me to choose a program to open it. the file size is only 32kb which was actually GBs of file in it. the hdd capacity is still same as before.

after googling around, i still don understand how to solve it. anybody can help?

another thing is, is it possible for me to recover my hard disk drive file?

some file are still accessible and some are not. i havent write any file to the hdd since i occur the problem yesterday. please help me.

i was thinking to buy another hdd, then recover the whole external hdd into the new hdd like i recover a formatted memory card, do you think it will work?

i did an windows update shutdown on my vista, then i turn on the pc and it just stuck at the bios screen, i cant get into boot menu or setup too, what happened? it's so sudden.

Anybody heard about this phone before? LG KS360, I just saw it in The Sun newspaper today. Selling for RM699. The price is quite interesting, though it doesn't has 3G but it will be nice for a text messaging lover, besides it has iPhone like messaging system which create message thread into speech bubbles, making it like chatting on IM.

Need a new Wireless Adapter

i am currently using the asus wireless g usb stick to connect to my home wlan, it just keep dropping and cant connect most of the time and i am quite fed up with it already. thinking of getting a new one, my linksys connected to the other computer is quite stable, use that to bt whole night also no problem, but that is wireless B very old model.

any recommendation on cheap and good wireless adapter?

Is it worth to get a N adapter? my house router is only wireless B only.

I wanna share with you what camera bag i'm using, actually i don't have a TRUE camera bag yet, but i want to see what you guys are using. so share your camera bag photo here. =)

Converse camera bag. =D Chio right? Looking for cool camera bag out there. Most of them look ugly.

Bag in a bag. The cheapo RM50 camera bag in my converse sling bag. Look good on the outside, but reaching the camera is a bit difficult.

How to Format a hard disk with OS in Window

I got an hard disk from my faulty laptop, and i put it in to the enclosure. then I try to format it in vista/xp, but it can't work. I believe, there's Windows OS file in the portable hard disk, everytime i try right click > format > Start, it always says windows can't complete your format.

any idea how to format the hard disk?

Is it OK to leave laptop on for 24/7?

Hi guys, I want to ask you that is it safe/OK to run the laptop 24/7 with power cord plug in all the time? Should I remove the battery and plug in back it when I take my battery out? If I have my battery in, will it drain my battery life?

Hi guys, I am new to photography. It's a new hobby to me so I hope to learn from you guys. I am using a Canon 400D with Kit Lens.

Hi, forumer here is from Penang? Do you guys know any good shop that gives good service and good price on buy a DSLR? Previously, I bought my cam during a camera fair at Gurney, I found out their service is only good during the fair and when walk in to their shop, the salesman is so unprofessional and service is so bad. So any camera shop you guys recommend in Penang?

Damn sigh. I drop my kodak k650 and the magnify glass thingy came out. I turn on my cam and i still see things but i think got dust go inside, help man. How much will it cost if i send to repair? Is it still usable?

How to network Vista and XP

Personal equipment
Modem: Aztech ADSL
Router: Linksys Wireless B router
Firewall used: N/A

I got a Vista PC and a XP PC at home. I don't have LAN port and Telephone port at either of the PC place. Currently, I am connected to the Internet via Wifi, the router and modem is at the living room. I got a slow router because it's a 802.11b router and 1 wifi adapter is Wireless B and the other 1 is wireless G.

I plan to file share my Vista and XP. I can't seems to access my XP file from the Vista, I saw the XP from the network there, but I am prompted for a password and username, I don't know what that for as I know I didn't set any password and username. I can access Vista from XP though.

And then I want to stream video and music over this 2 PC, so I should change to a Wireless G router and receiver in order to do so?

How to backup my files?

OK LAH. Sorry guys, I admit that I uses pirated copy of windows. I will get a original copy of windows and reformat my PC but first I have to backup some important files from my current hard disk first before I can reinstall the windows. I can't get into desktop to copy my files into DVD or Pendrive. So how can I backup the files that I want out?

My HDD has 2 partition, 1 is the OS and the other one is has all my important files and photos.

i bought a new hdd for my pc. i connected everything, the bios there shows my new hdd exist, but My Computer didnt show my new drive. at device manager there also show it exist. before that, i already got 2 partition on my previous hdd...

corrupted photo file

I took a few photos when the battery no more, it flash then the camera terus turn off, when i copy to my computer, i cannot read the file. i believe it's corrupted, is there ways i can recover that file? thanks in advance.
