CAT5e copper wire

Hi,

Are the twisted pair wires inside cat5e cables full copper? Since they're full copper, won't they be easily bent and break? I am looking to get at least 100M of cat5e and the store owner tells me that they are selling full copper wire. Anyway to check? snap it?

thanks

Hi,

Need some advise. I am currently renovating my home and wanted to get some opinion on surveillance system. I have been reading online and found out that there are 2 ways of cabling. 1 is with normal coaxial cables and the other is RJ45 LAN cables.

Coaxial
-requires power point for the cameras

CAT5 LAN with Balun converter
-can provide power and transmit video feed to DVR unit or computer via CAT5 cable
-requires a Balun converter installed.
-does not require power point for cameras

any input or recommendations?

thanks

Hi,

I wanna get and install CCTVs in my home. Are there any CCTV camera and DVR using RJ45 video inputs rather than normal coaxial cables? If only coaxial cables can be used, any generic type to get? That can be used for most or all cctv cameras in the market. And any recommendations on types of cameras to get.

Thanks.

[WTA] Consumer Brand HT Sound System

Hi,

My house is under renovation and planning to get a 42" LCD/Plasma for my living room. I need to get a 5.1ch consumer brand sound system to go with it. I intend to lay the wires through the plaster ceiling for the rear speakers and ceiling mount them...if that's possible.

My questions:

1) Recommendation for a decent consumer brand 5.1ch setup...those type of whole set shebang.
2) What sort of cable should I purchase to lay over the plaster ceiling? Can one type fits all different brands?
3) Should I also ceiling/wall mount the front speakers too...if the speakers are the tiny kind?

Thanks.

I was looking at the Aztech HomePlug networking...using wall power sockets...which seems like a good idea.

Please give some suggestions.

thanks

House Market Value

Hi,

I am currently looking into buying a house. I have met with the agent that is selling the house and has given me the final offer price...which is from what I know...below market value. Based on 2 other houses that is within the vicinity.

For instance, the other 2 houses is up for sale at RM 500-530K. And the current house that I am looking at is RM470K. I think it's a good deal. But how would we check the proper or correct market value of the house? the houses are all of the same design and are just one or 2 streets away.

Can I call off the deal if i decided not to get the house even we have come to an agreement and the 2% deposit is paid?

thanks

Like alot of other ppl that work overseas, some of us gets paid in USD. With the decreasing rate for USD to Malaysia, is there anyway to maintain our salary in USD?

Banks offers multi-currency accounts, but some requires the TT to be converted from USD to RM and back to USD to maintain in the accounts.

I hope that was clear. Any ideas from y'all?
