network noob question

hi simple noob question here.

ive got a 8 port switch that runs straight into my modem which auto dialups. couple of pcs share the internet connection via the switch... now i was told that the switch is causing slowish speeds because there was only one line from the switch to the modem..

is that true? S:

using my PC to recieve fax

Hi guys, just want to check if anyone knows if its possible to have my pc receive and send faxes? I've a laptop that can do just that but i dont want to leave my laptop on all the time just to receive faxes. the PC is on most of the time so that seems like a better option to me.

ANY REAL solutions/recommendations on how i can do this without buying a fax machine are appreciated..

i think my cans just gave up on me.. the left can is not producing any sound..

i've tried twisting n turning the cables to no avail. im guessing its pretty much dead. is there anywhere or anyone that can help me confirm the death of my phones? or help me fix them?

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me with this. Was running Yahoo! Widgets on my desktop when suddenly today when i turned on my pc it returned me this error.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application."

Any ideas?
