I have tried streaming from RTM's website, it failed on me today. http://www.rtm.gov.my/streaming/tv2live.php?lang=eng I tried it last week and it worked well. Does this link work on your side? I have tried on FF, IE and Opera but not working at all.

I desperately need it to be worked today because my friend takes up in Penyampai Ikon, she made it to the final. Tonight's is the final it will be a live broadcast.

My house has a TV set but too bad all channels are working well except for RTM 2 that cannot receive any signal at all.

Please suggest me free TV online streaming, for RTM 2. Or any alternative...

Port Dickson or PD to locals is a beach and holiday destination situated about 32 km from Seremban and 90 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is located in the state of Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia. It takes just over an hour by car to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Port Dickson along the North-South Expressway.

History

This small town used to produce charcoal, but it was later developed as a small port by the British during the Strait Settlement period. Port Dickson was also known as Tanjung. In Malay language that means "cape". The oldest shophouses were the four situated presently at Jalan Lama. There was also a carbon mine at the first mile of the coast road (Jalan Pantai), and therefore Port Dickson was also called "Arang" (charcoal) in the Malay language.

Tin ore was plentiful in Lukut, an area within the Port Dickson district, during the 1820's, and it attracted Chinese immigrant miners. The British considered the area to have great potential as a harbour. It was intended to supersede the port in Pengkalan Kempas. The in-charge officer's name was Dickson, and thereafter the town was named Port Dickson. Others claim that Sir John Frederick Dickson founded Port Dickson and Pulau Arang in 1889.

Port Dickson evolved into a busy trading centre. Railways were constructed to facilitate the growth and development of Port Dickson. Although Port Dickson experienced rapid development, the beautiful beaches are fairly well preserved. Now, Port Dickson has become not only a beautiful tourist destination, but a large municipality with about 89,000 residents.

Recent developments

The 18 km extent of beach from Tanjung Gemuk to Tanjung Tuan is a popular holiday destination for visitors coming as far as those from Kuala Lumpur itself. Many Singaporeans have invested in holiday homes in and around Port Dickson.

Back in the late 1990s, Port Dickson went through a boom of hotels and resorts. Some of these projects never took off the ground and the unfinished construction projects can still be seen along the tourist town. However, today, with the economy improving and tourism booming in Malaysia, the projects are being revived.

A new project in Port Dickson is underway to construct the first Hard Rock Hotel in Malaysia.

Attractions:

Beaches

There are many beaches coast along Port Dickson. Leisure activities which are available such as water-skiing, canoeing, snorkeling and wind surfing. Please ask at your hotel reception for arrangements to utilise these facilities. If you enjoy sailing, arrange to have temporary membership at the Yacht Club. One of the best things you can do here in Port Dickson is fishing. But due to pollution and development, the fish stocks in Port Dickson has severely depleted. Fishing is now best done of in a boat or in the kelong. Beach fishing is not recommended unless your are looking for Ikan Keli or catch fish.This is great fun!!

5th Mile(Batu 5) Beach
Beach area that is covered by 4 hotels and chalet and also accessible by public

Si-Rusa Beaches
3 beaches here,first is at Bayu Beach Resort and second is public beach in front of Petronas, there is Seri Malaysia and Avillion on northside and one more beach is nelayan beach.

Bagan Pinang Beach The beach is located at 2nd Mile, after the Corus Paradise Hotel from PD Town.

Telok Kemang Beach
The longest beach area in Port Dickson is divided into 3 sections,Beach 1, Beach 2 & Beach 3

Tanjung Tuan Beach
Its a cape, so it has 2 beaches.

Small Beaches
Pantai Dickson 12th Mile. Telok Pelandok.

Telok Kubur, Kampung Sungai Sekawang - accessible using Eagle Ranch road.

Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon lies about 15 km from Port Dickson town which provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding greenery and the blue open sea and having fun in the sun. The lagoon is an excellent spot for swimming, boating, wind surfing and water skiing. Accommodation is easily available as many hotels and resortss are located here.

Cape Rachardo (Tanjung Tuan)

The Portuguese built the Cape Rachardo lighthouse in the 16th century. The lighthouse guided ships to the Port of Malacca. It is still operatoinal today. Gong up the narrow spiral staircase and see the panaromic view of the coastline of Sumatra, 38 km across the Straits. The cape is also the stopover point for migratory birds. From September to March, flocks of sparrows, honey buzzards and swifts can be seen here together with hawks and eagles. Walk down the 63 steps next to the lighthouse and follow the jungle trek to a secluded beach. The footprint embedded in a rock, about 50 metre to the right of the track, is said to be that of Hang Tuah, the legendary Malay warrior of the 15th century. Legend has it that upon acquiring innate strength and knowledge, Hang Tuah chose to meditate here. The footprint marks the spot where he first landed at Tanjung Tuan. A well close by whose cool chilled water is a haven for the tired and thirsty, is also said to have been dug by him. Local devotees have known to pay their homage at this spot.

Muzium Tentera Darat @ Army Museum

Located near next to a Malaysian Army Camp Port Dickson Based. This Museum is the latest attraction in Port Dickson. Some vehicles and aircraft previously used by Royal Malaysian Army are on display. There is also a mock Communist Tunnel.

Fort Lukut

Fort Raja Jumaat is about 7 km from Port Dickson. He was a 19th century Bugis warrior. The fort was built in 1847 to control the lucrative tin trade in the area. Today the muzzle loading guns used to defend the fort can be seen within the grounds of the District Officer’s residence and outside the Police Station in town. In the area of the fort are also the remains of the foundation of an old palace and a royal burial ground.

Fort Kempas

About 23 km from the lighthouse, there is a small village called Keramat Ujung Pasir. Here you will find a 15th century tomb of a leading historical personality, Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Makhtum, with its famous carved megalith. Next his grave are the famous stone inscriptions or "Batu Bersurat" which depict his struggle and victory. The enigma surrounding the stone remains unsolved to this day. Of special interest is the ‘ordeal stone’, an ancient lie-detector, through which a person puts his arm when answering questions. If he lies, the stone tightens like a vice.

Restaurants

For those who are into gastronomic activities, one can get the taste of the hot and spicy local cuisine. There’s fish cooked in thick gravy of coconut milk and the killer's cili padi’s- guaranteed to make your mouth and eyes smart. One can try the rendang (beef cooked with coconut milk and a rich assortment of spices). This is normally eaten with ‘Lemang’ - glutinous rice cooked in bamboo. Few famous restaurants are 'Seaview' along Jalan Pantai, 'Curry house' along Jalan Pantai as well. 'Mak Mah' next to Shell gate entrance, 'Restaurant SN Mohhamad' in Port Dickson town area next to the post office and many more. Every first Saturday of the month, there is a night market in Port Dickson Town, which is full of different variety food and fruits.Beside that,'Country home' also a very famous restaurant in Lukut which famous with its delicious foods.The Famous PD Eating Point is popular with Chinese and western delicious.In Port Dickson also you all cannot miss to try Nasi Lemak stall known as 'Wak Rahman' consider as one of the most famous nasi lemak stall there.If you go to town side there is a bunch or restaurants choices waiting such as Restoran Abu Bakar, SN Mohammad and a lot out there. Marketplace is another interesting food festival in Port Dickson at which you are exposed to variety of foods ranging from Chinese, Indian, Malay and international cuisine. Among the famous and well known is home made Putu Mayam sold by Abdul Rahman bin K. Ismail, the founder and owner of Bismi Putu Mayam. Don't miss to try out the delicious homemade Putu Mayam by Bismi Putu Mayam. These Putu Mayam are also available for orders for many functions and gathering.The famous fish head curry restaurant, the popular restaurant and number one in Negeri Sembilan "Restoran Deen Berjaya" by Alaudin bin Samad, it's located in Port Dickson town, so don't miss to try it out.

Got this SMS about a big radiation wave tonight

I just got this SMS from my sister, not sure if it is true. It reads:

"Please switch off all your mobile phones tonight. According to Metro TV and international news, there will be a big radiation wave tonight at 11.00 p.m. which is very dangerous to humans. Please inform your friends not to keep their phones near to them."

Anybody gets this SMS too? Or anybody can confirm the authenticity of this SMS?

Food in KL Sentral

I'm currently working at the opposite of KL Sentral and noticed that food in KL Sentral isn't that cheap, it costs me nearly RM 10.00 per meal. Is there any other cheaper alternative of food excluding fast food? Please suggest and also tell me the location, by walking distance only because I only have 1 hour lunch break every day. Thank you.

Blackberry, Smartphones and Windows Mobile

I can see that Blackberry is getting more popular in Malaysia, not forgetting the popular phone makers are more into Smartphones nowadays too.

I am currently using SE P1i, an UIQ based smartphone. Quite a good phone, in my opinion but flaws still can be found.

My friend is using a Blackberry and I got attracted with that, asked her which functions she uses on her Blackberry. She told me only for calls and SMS. I know a Blackberry can do more than that.

Nokia-Siemens already signed my confirmation letter and I will join the team soon in its tower, not sure if I'll be given any staff priced or free phones from Nokia, hopefully it does. I'm eyeing on its Nokia E75.

After looking at my friend's Bold, I'm in love with that too.

This thread doesn't suit into model vs. model thread because it is a general discussion on these two different platforms and no any specific model is used as comparison.

Blackberry or Smartphones?

What are the things can be done on Blackberry but not on Smartphones? What about the other way? Let's discuss.

Blackberry is popular for its instant email, smartphones are customisable. Both are having about the same price. Your choice? As for me, I can't decide! Both look equally attractive!

[WFR] A single room {Found!}

Hi guys, I'll be doing my internship in KL Sentral soon, precisely in June 2009. My internship will start from June to October 2009, however during the first few weeks in June I'll be stationed at Siemens Tower PJ SS16, thus I might not be around for the whole June but I can rent the room for June 2009, or half a month for June?

From end of June onwards, I'll be shifted to Nokia-Siemens building in KL Sentral and this will last until I complete my internship in early October 2009. Therefore, my requirements will be as near as possible to KL Sentral and must be accessible via convenient public transports. I don't mind some walking distance to these stations (bus, LRT or KTM).

Fully furnished unit will be prioritised, strict security, adequate facilities and Chinese tenants only. I'm a female by the way.
My budget is as reasonable as possible, depends on the location and the condition of the room. Salak South area is fine with me, Bandar Sri Permaisuri is well-liked. Anyway, I open my offers to other places too but must be equipped with convenient transports to KL Sentral. Hopefully the suggested places will have a reasonable access to foods and some groceries shopping (within walking distance).

To add on, I might extend my internship to December 2009, I'm still considering and can only be confirmed by October. However, for now, it is June to October 2009.

PM me shall you have any relevant offer for me, or just leave your offer here. Please don't just leave me your contact number at this thread, at least give me some descriptions of your place.

Units with photos will be appreciated and preferred.

I may drop by to visit the selected units next month because I'm tied with super hectic schedule at the moment.

p/s.: Places near to KTM Komuter station are highly preferred as sometimes I need to travel back to my hometown in Port Dickson via Seremban KTM Komuter station.

How do you utilise your cell phone?

Cell phone is no longer only a necessity but also an accessory to us. Almost everyone owns one nowadays, be it a cheap or expensive set. Previously, it was used only solely for communication purpose but with the assistance of high technology, it plays more roles compared to the past.

So, do tell us how do you utilise your phone? Also, what do you dislike about your phone?

I'll start off with mine first. By the way, please kindly state out the model of your phone.

I'm using SE P1i at the moment, it works on the obsolete UIQ platform. Nevertheless, the softwares are still circulating and available on the Internet. Thank God. Besides doing the traditional calling and SMS texting, I can take pictures using its built-in camera, listening to music by utilising Walkman 3.0 software, watching drama and Youtubing using Core Player and play some light games too. I also use it to online as it has built-in WiFi. Although it is with 3G capability, neither I use it as a modem nor I have chance to utilise the video call as I'm a DiGi user. My phone is also my personal organiser as my appointments, birthday reminders and short notes are stored in it. Sometimes, I use it to listen to local radio stations too.

As for the flaw, it is sad to see UIQ platform has came to an end. That means, no development will be done to it. Besides this, I can't think of any other things that I dislike about my phone.

Hotels in Cyberjaya

I'll be in Cyberjaya during the first week of November to conduct a research and I need a place to stay for few nights. Not need to be luxurious, just as long as it is conducive and comfortable for two persons is already sufficient.
I have searched from Google and the price is too much for students like us.

So, is there any other budget hotels in Cyberjaya? Or any other place at KL or anywhere as long it is easily accessible to MMU Cyberjaya. Both of us are from outstation, one from Port Dickson and one from Kuching, so we have no car there. Solely depend on public transport. Please advise.

Budget for hotels.... Err. Can't think of a range now but as cheap as possible.

So, ever heard of DiGi Campus? It is a new prepaid plan introduced by DiGi.

Basically, this plan consists of two wonderful deals which are Talk4FREE and Surf4FREE.

Talk4FREE

Once you have spent RM 2.00 of voice calls/SMS/Data every day, you will get to enjoy FREE calls to all DiGi numbers for unlimited talktime and call as many times as you want at anywhere, anytime!
Every day's 12.00 a.m., your account will be reset and you will need to spend RM 2.00 again to enjoy the free calls. Every cycle lasts for 24 hours.
Once you have reached RM 2.00 of usage, you will get an SMS notification immediately from DiGi telling your tariff tier has changed. Upon receiving that SMS, it means you can start making free DiGi phone calls!
The call rates are as below:
Besides, you get to SMS to your 11 FnF DiGi number for FREE!
SMS rates are the same regardless inzone or offzone.

Surf4FREE
Regardless inzone or offzone, D' Campus charges 10sen/10kb for data usage BUT... The maximum charge rate is only RM 30, that means once your usage reaches RM 30, DiGi will not charge for your usage anymore. In a short and compact explanation, instead of paying RM 66 for the usual unlimited EDGE data line, you will be paying only RM 30 for D' Campus package.

But...
Surf4FREE is counted from the 1st of the month and lasts for 1 month. Thus, even for e.g. if you start using it on 28th and have spent RM 30.00, you will only enjoy the remaining free data line for 3 days for that particular month.

I don't want to buy a new SIM card but I want to convert my current DiGi prepaid to DiGi Campus, is that possible? Yes, it is possible but only during the roadshows and this service is not available at those outlets. No activation fee will be charged but the plan will only be activated within 2 weeks time.
I noticed that DiGi Campus doesn't suit me, I want to get back my old DiGi Prepaid I Like, is that possible? Yes, you may switch to other plan but bear in mind, once you have switched to other plan; you won't be allowed to get back to DiGi Campus plan.
I have canceled my DiGi Campus plan but I want to get a new DiGi Campus SIM card now, is that possible? Unlikely because your student ID and I.C. are already in their database as one I.C and student ID is only eligible for one DiGi Campus SIM card.
Do I still get to enjoy FnF rate? Yes, but only free SMS and not call rate because it is RM 0.15/minute regardless to any network or anywhere.

Any free gifts?

Free one survival kit for every new customer or plan conversion customer. It consists of a magnetic paper folder, Maggi Mee, Nescafe and notepad (While stocks last and may vary for every university/college).

It shows no display on my blog, co-incidentally I can't access to Feedjit Website, I keep getting "Page Load Error" on Firefox 3.

My friend's laptop is facing auto shutdown

Hello all. I'm posting this on behalf of my friend, she is using a laptop but starting from yesterday, her laptop has this auto shutdown problem. She told me her laptop will shutdown within 30 minutes upon turn on.

May I know what is the problem with it? The first time she encountered was when she was doing her disk clean up and second time when watching downloaded video. Everything just went "poof" like that.

I hope anyone with experience can help me/her on this matter. With attached is the screenshot of her laptop's specification. Shall you can't see it clearly, feel free to tell me and I shall extract the information out to be posted here.
