Posting here because now it's hardware related... I need help!!!!

I'm using Gigabyte motherboard, EX58-UD5, Crossair 6GB DDR3 rams.

Yesterday I formatted my comp, after formatted, in my comp it says "6GB (2GB usable)":

Then when I checked in dxdiag, it shows:

And finally when I use CPUZ to check, it shows:

For CPUZ I had checked all the SPD, all the modules are identical...

When I checked in my Bios, after flash it to new version and selected "Default Optimized setting", it also detect 2GB only...

Is that anything wrong with my ram? All of them remain plugged in and my windows can be started without any problem... something wrong with my bios setting, please help!!!

Today I went and re-order COD6, the price is 89.9 SGD, and it's the most basic version (aiks PC only have the most basic version).

Don't know why when taking the cash note out of my wallet, I suddenly feel very unhappy and decide to put all the cash back into the wallet, don't know why activision purposely grouped all the PC user as pariah... No am re-thinking to buying this promising game...

ok mod, after use the search engine I couldn't find any modern warfare 2 thread, so should I miss out the official discussion thread for modern warfare 2, please merge this thread into it...

Anyway just wanna share with u all, we all knew taht the game sometime bundled with some goodies right, like keyboard and mouse when purchasing C&C games, and that recycle bag i got when purchase assassin's creed...

Now look at this, this gotta be the MOST WHOOPING item bundled with a game, a fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles come with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2 Prestige Edition !!!

Alright I have no idea how much it will be, but I wonder if such item can pass through our custom? This is military gear! Anyway should it's possible, and if it's around 200 SGD I will just buy it, I don't care that google will be useful or not, may be at night can go out for some stalking...

Legacy Of Kain series

Alright, let's put a thread to discuss about this game, Legacy Of Kain series,

This game is about... ... *blah blah blah blah* (5 hours later) like this and like that.

So let's us all discuss about this game, espeacially the story. One of the most attachtive topic will be the sequel of the series, since Raziel is already 'imprisoned' into the Soul Reaver blade, people believe that the story end there.

However, we came to know that there was a sequel of this game, call "Legacy Of Kain: The Dark Prophecy", which was canceled for no reason, and the developer, Crystal Dynamic now 100% focus all their resource to develop Tomb Raider series game and no plan for Legacy Of Kain at all. There're petition out there to bring back the series but too bad Eidos just ignore it (until now).

Not too long ago there was a interview with Eidos's boss, he stated that "Not an bad idea for another LOK game" but no other information given, so it brings back all the hope of LOK fans. (Sorry I couldn't find the source of this info at the moment, will update here later)

Ok guys, for those who can read Mandarin, click on the following link and have a good laugh. This happen in another forum (Chinese forum) where a moron posting a thread telling that GTA4 is the BESTEST GOODEST WELLEST game in the world, for past, present and future, and the best point is he's not allow anyone raise a different opinion. Lots of ppl found his post funny but he still insist his opinion and tried to explain his point in some.... erm... maniac way... like a psycho or so...

I never seen such person in my life and I can't stop laughing when following the posts, I can't help but share it with anyone around me.

how to replace the dll in system 32? (Vista 64bit)

Hi guys,

I wanna use some 3rd party theme for my windows Vista.

To do so, I need to replace some files in system32 folder with the modified one, they are:

- shsvcs.dll
- themeui.dll
- uxtheme.dll

My problem is, windows don't let me do so, each time I attempted to replace it, it will ask for permission, after I gave the permission, it will pop up a message say I need admin's permission to modify the content of this folder, then the option available is Try Again, if I press it the same message will keep repeating.

Laptop cooler comparison (for 17" gaming laptop)

Hi Pros,

I am buying a laptop cooler for my 17 Inches laptops, since I use it for gaming so I will need a better perfomance one, due to this I will nto consider those funky looking, RM 20 plastic cooler.

My friend had suggest me Zalman NC 2000 while some others suggest me Cooler Master Notepal W2. I notice that NC 2000 has wider surface which can support larger laptop, but the Notepal W2 has 3 fans. Beside that, the NC 2000 which has only 2 fans cost much higher than Notepal W2...

My question is, in terms of performance, which one is better? Which one is preferred by majority pros here? Why is the Zalman NC 2000 so expensive while it has only 2 fans? Please let me know, if it's good performance I don't mind spend money for it since it's for long term.

Or if you pros has any other better suggestion please let me know as well

[Help] Unable to enable hidden folder

Hi all, please give me some tips fo this problem:

My office laptop cannot enable hidden folder, when I go to folder options, choose "show hidden files and folders" and click on "apply", then "ok, the screen (like windows> documents and setting> all user... ...) no hidden folder (like application folder) doesn't appear at all, but then I check back my folder options again, the hide/ show hidden folder become diesable again. I repeat the same multiple time but still the same...

Any idea upon this?

Small question about dreamscene

Just asking, some of the stardock's dreamscene is 140MB in size while some of them are jsut 7MB, beside the 140MB usually has mroe visual effect, does it make any different on our PC performance? Does bigger size dreamscene eat up more memory or CPU usage?

Just curious, I am a dreamscene mania anyway, I check out wincustomize for new dreamscene every 3 days for new collection~

What's wrong with my live messenger!?

Hi all, I need some help with windows live messenger, not sure if anyone encoutner such problem before...

I was playing world of warcraft, but suddenly the game crash back to windows for no reason. So I close the game. At that very moment, my Windows Live messenger (version 8.1) went offline. Then I tried connect again, it wont let me.

I tried to exit entire messenger, then re-enter again but it still showing cannot connect. This is very weird and I tied to bring up my Live Space page (the MSN space which supported by live messenger as well), it wont open ! And then I tired my hot mail, OMG anything windows live related website cannot be open!

WIth full of question marks on my head, I uninstall my live messenger, delete the windows live-related cookies in my chache, then delete my registry. Now after that I reinstall back my live messenger, it sometimes let me sign but most of the time it's not!

OMG can someone tell me which part of my connection goes wrong and how do I let my live messenger work as usual as before? Please help !!!

edit: ah forgot to mention that when I tried to use the trobleshooting tool of live messenger, it sometimes pass the "keyport" stage while sometime not...

Hi all, I need help urgently !!!

Today I went and downloaded a animated dekstop name "liquid.dream" from wincustomize and try to install it to my comp, and nwo big problem come.

This .dream is different than others, which require me to run 1 program called "newsid.exe", and show "Once the process starts, DO NOT CANCEL! you risk to loose your OS". Once I run it, it start updating all the ID in my computer. First ut update eveyr single files in my comp, included those in windws, applicaiton data, program files... then now it updating my registry, and it takes forever! I I update it from 8.00am mornign untill now 3.00pm but still there never finish. I not dare to force close the program coz it says it will lead to unstable OS.

OMG what should I do, anyone here has any idea waht can I do on this? Please help me!

Can someone instruc me how to turn on the clal blocking feature on this phone, so every call come to my phone will receive a call doesn get through message or something. What I try to means is to let ppl think taht I din't turn on my phone at all, coz if we press the button after all pl might aware that we purposely hang their call...
