Car ownership transfers

Anyone has a similar experience?

My story...

Early May, my cousin has sold his car to me, but he made his loan at a bank branch in Penang (I'm staying in KL). I went to the same branch thinking it would make the loan and ownership transfer process easier. Anyway, the loan was promptly given, and since I'm staying in KL, I've requested the bank to arrange for the ownership transfer and roadtax also (which was expiring in mid-May). I've sent the car for puspakom inspection and then paid all the necessary insurance, roadtax, ownership transfers fees on 16th May. The officer ask me whether to do the fast transfer or the normal transfer...the fast transfer I myself have got to go to JPJ in Penang. I opt for the normal transfer because I'm working in KL and cannot come. Anyway the officer told me the normal transfer is slow, maybe a couple of weeks.

Anyway, made several call after 2 weeks have gone, to ask about my roadtax...but officer said the roadtax not ready yet. Last week also enquired but said maybe in a week or two weeks . However, last week friday, the officer call me up and said the roadtax is ready for collection. I've collected it yesterday but only its only six months instead of 1 year...the officer said because the the ownership late transfer, so insurance (made earlier by bank in May) not enough to cover 1 year . I've check up the copy of the car reg card..the date of ownership transfer is 7/06 and roadtax 8/06. Officer said it's late because queue at JPJ..and its normal.

My query is...does it really take that long to process the car ownership transfer? I've paid up on 16/5 and the ownership transfer completed on 7/06. Is the bank's runner walking or is it normal (as the bank officer said)?

I got a Pentax Optio WP as a gift from my bro in japan, but the charger blew up already. so I'm looking for any dealer/shop/anyone who can supply me the camera charger for it .Does anyone know where I could find one in Penang/BW area? PM me please if u know. Thanks
