whenever i turn on my bitcomet, this particular PC's network connection just can't move
but other PCs in this same network can surf without any disturbance
why is that so?

my office has 7 PCs, and all of them connect to an 8-port switch (d-link DES1008D) using RJ45 & motherboard built-in NIC port
the problem now is whenever we access to other's pc, it tends to be lagging (it takes a while to load)
but this one only happen for the first time only until next restart/shutdown
no more this problem when accessing the same PC for the 2nd time

all my 7 PCs have to set static IP, otherwise we can't detect each other's PC and it won't automatically assign by DHCP
i never encounter such problem with router before... this is the first time and experience of fixing a switch
may i know what's the problem, and how to solve this?
please help... thank you

My scenario:
I've learnt VB6.0 in college. That was 5 years ago. Now, I would like to pick up the knowledge again, but I've forgotten most of them. I still remember some, but not all, especially database (MS Access). So is there any book/reference guide to recommend me?

I am dealing with a window application. I use treeview for my main menu. When I press on the child node, I will get to the page I set but, when I go back to my main menu treeview, I couldn't get to the page again when pressing on the same child node. It can only work when I press the parent node then press the same child node.

*btw, i'm on VB in VS 2005, doing window application for VB

PCMCIA-to-PCI

okie, i've got maxis 3g connect (data card) ready and PCMCIA-to-PCI card
i tried to plug them both on my PC (desktop), follow the instructions given by maxis carefully and correctly
but whenever i plug in my data card, my windows will hang for 3 secs, and a blue screen pops up
so i wonder, anyone of you guys using the same way with mine to get connected to 3g?
what's the problem anyway?

my router modem always hang when i BT
if i off my BT, the speed of surfing returns to normal
i intend to buy a wireless router (Linksys WRT54GL flash with DD-WRT) to connect to my router modem (Linksys AG241V2 as modem) to solve this problem
do you think this will solve or do you think there's any other solution?

mobo burnt

i set the front panel connector of my PC, then try to turn on without RAM, HDD, FDD and DVD-ROM
i've installed my CPU and GC on mobo too
when i try to connect to power, i turn on and smell something burning
i saw sparks coming out from mobo
i quickly turned off my PC and saw the mobo is slightly burnt

so may i know the wrong set of front panel connector will result in spark?
otherwise, what makes it resulted in spark?

btw, it's socket 939 (amd)
mobo is MSI neo2-fx

i've 2 comparisons here:

1. amd sempron 2600+ socket 754 vs amd athlon xp 2600+ socket A
both with 1gb ram ddr400, both factory default settings (no OC)
which one will be faster?

2. xfx geforce 7600gs agp 8x vs nvidia geforce 6800gt
7600gs is using ddr2 while 6800gt is using ddr3
which one is better?

i've a fujitsu laptop, model s6311
the problem now is "my computer" window automatically starts when i login into windows
so how can i disable it?
i've checked "startup" folder, but no luck
this problem exists after i installed maxis 3g card
tried to find all the settings, but no luck too
