TVB GM Stephen Chan arrested for alleged corruption

HONG KONG : TVB general manager and host of popular talk show "Be My Guest", Stephen Chan, has been arrested along with four others by Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Thursday for alleged corruption, said Hong Kong media.

Chan, who turns 50 this year, was taken into custody along with TVB's head of business development Wilson Chan Wing-suen; variety department executive producer Wilson Chin Kwok-wai; actor Ning Jin; and the director of an advertising firm.

Chan was rumoured to have abused his position in TVB to enrich a shell company that he owned. The shell company allegedly made about HK$10 million (S$1.8 million) over the years.

TVB's external affairs division assistant controller Tsang Sing Ming announced on the same day that the company has suspended Chan and the other three arrested TVB employees from their duties, adding that the television station will fully cooperate with ICAC investigations.

Production of Chan's popular talk show "Be My Guest", which counts Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang and disgraced star Edison Chen among its previous guests, has also been suspended. However, a pre-recorded episode will apparently be broadcast as scheduled.

Tsang claimed that he cannot give any details as the anti-graft body's investigation was still under way but said that the matter would not affect TVB's daily operations.

Veteran TVB artiste Eric Tsang told Hong Kong media that he did not know the details of the matter but believed Chan was probably not involved in corrupt practices.

I want to put a "Working.. please wait" sort of loading screen, that will overlay the entire page, its AJAX based. It doesn't need to show the exact progress at all, just a plain, simple thing to show that it is working background.

I have seen some examples on the true progress bar, but I don't want to make it too complicated, its just for aesthetic purpose for my case.

this is a simple registration form, using just ASP.net textbox control

can anyone show the ways of implementing a validation control that check if the password length selected is less than 8, then it will return an error

Log in view provides 2 templates, each for logged in, and logged out

the problem is, after placing the controls into each templates, the compiler cannot detect the controls anymore, it shows the errror "the <control name> does not exist in current context"
