I realized I'm getting less than the 70% promised speeds for my package. Plus, when I do a speedtest.net in KL, I get less than what I'm suppose to get even in locally. WTF?!

Anyway, I decided to call the Customer Service (CS) to complain and have them fix it. But they have brilliantly changed their support system when you call it.

When you call 100:
1. Press 1 = BM, 2 = English ...

2. Press 1 = Telekom, 2 = Internet ...

3. Press 1 = Products, 2 = Dun remember, 3 = Technical support ...

After reaching Technical Support, you'll hear a person telling you the garbage "your call is important to us" but you'll then hear "all our support lines are busy..." and this ONLY repeats THREE (3) phreaking times!

Yes, THREE (3) times then you'll hear "we're sorry but all our lines are busy, please CALL BACK later."

Why is this system useless?
1. You want me to call back - tolerable.
2. You want me to call back again - frustrated.
3. You want me to call back again and again and again and ... until the cows come home, if they do! - RIDICULOUS!

I remember calling another number where it was automated as well. But, at least it allowed you to continue waiting over the phone in queue.

I'd wait until the cows come home but it's cause I'd get to see a cow come home later. Right now, it's become a waiting for cows to come home to Mary losing her sheep completely.

Okay, so my core components are:

E6300 (1.83) with stock hsf
Gigabyte 965P DS3 rev 3.3 (F13 firmware)
2 x 1GB Patriot 800mHz @ 667mHz

I recently found a question about the cpu clock ratio. Mine can only be set to either 6 or 7. Min: 6 and Max 7.

So I was wondering is this a firmware thing or does the mobo adjust the settings accordingly?

I'd like to be able to set the cpu clock ratio lower but raise my FSB back. Now I can't because with cpu clock ratio 6 and 400Mhz (2.00) the temp is at 70 idle and when I play Team Fortress 2, it'll surely rocket.

So again, was wondering is the limited options for the cpu clock ratio a firmware thing or does the mobo adjust the settings accordingly?

I'm on the lookout for a freelance presentation designer.

Someone with knowledge (or proficient) in:

My client is looking for someone to help him design and copywrite some of his products/services into presentations. These presentations MUST be able to launch from a CD later. Either automatic or double-click.

I'd do it myself but I've too much work in my hands already (though non-related to this job).

Hey people. I figured this'll be a good opportunity to start sharing some of my photos here. I definitely understand some don't want to pull out all their 50 images of a photoshoot and some share a few to mainly get forum readers to see the rest in their blog. Well, for me it's different. I'll be sharing all I can here - until further notice.

Will you pay for a Model Shooting Session?

The Shooting Session will have:
1. A hired model. (from a small-medium agency OR friend(s) who dun mind earning lil pocket money.)
2. An either rented / free location.
3. Minimum 4 hours of shooting time. (Maybe start at 7-8am and wrap-up by 1pm.)
4. Drinks. (Depending on the results.)

This is a poll to see if it's possible to overcome the limited seats and the 'first come, first serve' basis during arrangement of Model Shooting Sessions. No doubt I believe less photographers would mean better interaction between photographer and model, but there are too many enthusiasts here.

Therefore, I look forward to all enthusiasts taking this poll. This would help other organizers and enthusiasts have better chances of arranging and attending future shooting sessions.

Not to mention, if you paid for something it makes you want to work harder on your techniques and etc.

Ideas, suggestions and comments are welcome. This is a forum.

What is WMS about?
Websites Made Simple is a Malaysia web design blog and exists to share the experiences and knowledge of the lead writer; Danny Foo. Currently he heads a small web design and development team in a company he co-founded; Simpleet Solutions, located in Malaysia.

How long WMS has been around?
It was a personal blog in 2001-2002, then in 2003-2004 it moved to the niche of web design and development.

A Different Approach

Okie, to be honest I could've worked alot harder on this. Yes, many must be thinking "you shouldn't have said that because now they won't choose yours". Well, I guess that's what happens when you don't have enough time spent on concept development as well as the time to finish the idea you had.

My design is a partial idea to what I was trying to form with this. The idea was meant to be simple and straight forward which is my known style. However, I'm still not satisfied but since I had to rush for the submission I guess this was what I had to force myself to accept in the end.

And to be honest, it looks better on my solid black t-shirt template compared to the black t-shirt template we were suppose to use. I'm not sure why is theirs grey. Either the t-shirt will be grey-ish or it's meant to be black. Oh well..

So anyway, the initial concept for mine is the phrase in the front Think In the Box which focuses on the lifeblood or the core users in LYN. Yes, there are many other new forums but what and who really built the forum, that was the driver for my design.

It's you people, geeks, 1337 gamers and the like that gave me the inspiration to think in the box and it's because of you, the community shines.

Well, fire away if you want. I just hope my email wasn't after April 30, 2007 11:59pm.

Which Form does what?

As we know, if you're an employee then you only have Form BE to fill up. However, if you're a sole proprietor, partnership, sdn bhd and etc there are other forms for you to take. So I'd like to start this topic to collect and to provide everyone's help in defining all these forms. I'll start with..

Could someone please explain:

1. What is the difference between Business Registration (Form A & D) and a Business License?

2. Do the owner of sole proprietor / partnership fill up Form B or Form BE or both?

3. What in the world is Form J of partners / proprietors?

Mouse not detected..

I think my computer is PMSing on me.

I don't know why when my computer starts, the mouse isn't detected..at all. I need to unplug and plug the USB back in before the mouse will be detected and it'll work again.

My hunches to the problem are:
1. PSU (though it's a HEC 450W)
2. Motherboard

p/s: I'm using a Logitech G3.

Anyone with another solution? Thanks.

Since the old thread got removed, I decided to start a new one. This topic might stray or might not be in the right place for such a discussion however I'll leave that to the mods to decide. If the topic gets moved, my bad for not knowing which forum this kinda discussion should be belonged in.

Anyway, I'll start by talking about the 6 months+ i've been working on my own as a freelancer and as a business.

It's been great with freedom working from home and relaxing when I want to. But there have been stressful times of managing hard impatient clients with demanding projects. The good news is that my patience has been at a higher level so managing clients of all levels has been not too difficult.

The work has been slow which means income hasn't been great and definetely it's difficult being in a country where not everyone understands websites today and other things involving this business. However, I still believe there's light to this business and I'll no matter what work on in my line of website design and consultation even if I have to work under a company and run this business to keep married life afloat in future.

So to anyone who wants go their own way, make sure you've got a very good reason why and not just because you don't like your boss or your colleagues. If you want to work on your own, make sure it's of a higher calling like quality, exploration, experimentation, improvisation or just a time to break off from working as an employee for 10 odd years and it's time to do your own thing.

So let the questions, answers, discussions of this business get going once again.
