I got a 250gb 3.5" SATAII Hitachi Deskstar, (I think is SATA II is because it says SATA 3.0Gb/s RPM 7200) and i wish i want to use it as an external hd since i'm using laptop.

I buy 1 CLIPtec IDE/SATA Model ZE-355 external casing, which said can support up to 500gb hd. but the problem is when i put the hd in and plug into my laptop, the hd can be use only for a few mins then it missing, then it show up again, n missing after a few mins later. it keep doing like that for few times and lastly the window says that the usb is not recognized.

at first i tot maybe the case are not ok, so i buy a new 1, external case SATA with 2.0usb. but its still the same.

n now i wonder if SATAII cant be use with SATA external casing. Is it true? Any other way that i can use my 250hd as an external hd?
