Pidgin in Ubuntu 8.04

Hi guys, generally i need linux and ubuntu expertises to help with my problem.

previously i'm using ubuntu version 7 and last night i managed to upgrade it into version 8.04 and by default pidgin was version 2.4.1. then i uninstall it (for version 2.4.1) n tried to upgrade my pidgin by following this method suggested by pidgin website - http://pidgin.im/download/ubuntu/ . done by running 2 commands and then run update manager (Walla, my pidgin already been update but in synaptic shown my pidgin is a version 2.6.1 instead of 2.6.2).

Then i try to install it through synaptic or through terminal but i'm facing with this problem;

pidgin: Depends: libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.20.5) but 1.20.1-1 is to be installed
Depends: libpurple0 (>= 1:2.6.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: perl (>= 5.8.8-12ubuntu0.4) but 5.8.8-12 is to be installed

does anybody know how to fix this issue?

p/s: i'm a newbie in linux world. step by step solution really appreciate it.

redirect 301 from non www to www

Hi, i'm looking for a help from you guys who know this matter. I've setup my wordpress 2.7. my url was mysite.com. then i tried to redirect it from mysite.com to www.mysite.com using cpanel redirect function then i tried to enter my site by typing mysite.com, i got an error - page load error ( direct loop ). i checked the header and seems like it already moved permanently successful (same when i tried to hand code in .htaccess for redirect function).

yes, i know in wordpress we can set the url blog by adding www but the problem is in adsense ads. without www, my ads containing relevant ads with the articles but with www, in index page the ads was not containing relevant ads instead of ads of wordpress and themes but other pages which in article pages got a relevant ads.

anybody know why i got this error for my redirect function?

hi, i'm facing this problem. my shortut in all program after click the glob already gone. (glob > all programs) all of it. how to make it appear back? please help me

i'm using vista ultimate. for those who confused what i'm saying, here the pic :

this happen when i tried to uninstall 1 program. the process was successful but the program folder with all the shortcuts still there. after restart, this is happen. how to retrieve all the program shortcuts back. help me

Computer Keep Restart

Need some expert advise. When i'm booting my pc, 1 window will appear and said lsass.exe System error. Object name not found. Then when after clicked enter, the computer will restart. Already hit to safe mode. Also appear this message. How can i fix this problem without need to reformat? at least if still need to reformat i still can access my windows and make a backup file. help me plz.

p/s : happened after update antivirus definition. Windows XP SP2

Personalise window wont appear after click it

hello, i dunno if u all facing this problem or not but i do. when i load my computer, personalise window (can be done in desktop > right click and click on personalise) wont appear after i click on it. same also when i click computer properties and games and aero. need to reboot and set it to 'last good configuration' and then it will work but this make me irritate. this thing happen rarely. any solution can be fix this problem?

facing this problem after i shut down my pc by pressing alt+f4. try to boot up, and going to windows, but all i can see is blue screen with mouse cruser. try in safe mode also have same problem but now in black screen with same mouse cruser. cant see the desktop i'm using

problem with modem & router

hello. i'm having a problem with my torrent. here my specifiacation :

- Utorrent v1.6
- Aztech 600EU
- Pentium 4
- ZoneAlarm Security Suite (b4 facing this problem, i still can dl with ZASS enabled)
- Not using pear guardian

For portforwarding, i'm setting it like below,

the problem is, when i've setup my portforwarding and try to check wheater my portforwarding working or not i'm shock that i show me an error just like below :

i've choose several port from range 10000 to 60000 and get the same result.

this is not my 1st time make a portforward but for this scenario, yes it is a 1st time.

i've also already reset back my modem and also add and delete for portfowarding several times. can anybody help me to solve my problem?

is that any posibble that my router is dead?
