Freaking ABNORMAL connections

So today around early evening, my internet got dc-ed, and to confirm it was not only me, I checked with my friends, their internet down too.

After I called cs [lol bs cs], they said my account "session hang" but, actually I can ping the gateway, but not dns [with ping more than 150ms]

After restarts and reconnect [after waits ~5 mins], still the same results, can't surf to any websites at all.

But after 1/2 hour everything back to normal, but I found out certain sites I'll unable to login or surf to, such as photobucket.com

Until now I still unable to logins to photobucket.com...and it's getting annoying that even certain websites that I usually can surf on to smoothly turns to be unable to access today.

Also I unable to view any pictures from wikipedia as well and this getting damn annoying.

Called cs, blah, they never ends with their bs.

So anyone having the same problem today? Especially from East Malaysia? Or perhaps other places as well?

Just received my bill <<...meh...so slow one, and so now my phone bill + streamyx bill combined into 1 bill.

But the problem now how come my bill becomes rm3xx ++ Dx?

I subscribed to RM66 streamyx package, normal home fixed line.

Last nite I went to my mom's friend with my mom for the "Raya-visits"...

And their kids opened channel RTM 1, and at that time, they're airing Sousei no Aquarion...in ->BM dubbed<-

And the "voices"...ah..crap... the main character, Apollo ...his voice...sounds like...uh...the ah pek next door? Soul-less and...and when I heard the commander shouts "Inilah Sousei Gattai!" ....I just...wtf-ed o_o??? no-life sound and its kinda...weird...lol...

RTM just "killed" another good anime series :/ ...they should at least "do-some-practice" or hires some "good-with-voice-over" people to dub it , and not some cheap "ah-pek/ah-ma" "so-called-seiyuus"

There's few animes -> BM dubbed in local tv...so far, if for me to say...Doraemon and Shincan...are only "at-least" acceptable BM dubbed version ._.

Is it just me ...or

Is it just me or...recently [especially yesterday and weekends], I can't access to LYN, always got timed out error.

Just now too, can't login to LYN, but my internet connection is fine, other sites are ok, only LYN.

Any others experiences the same problem like me?

Ok..fine...here's my situation today.

Ok, I've subscribed to tmnut's screamyx...thats 22nd June ago btw...and today they gonna install it...ok, they called my hp..."Hi, I want to install your SCREAMYX, so when you've time...etc...etc"

NOTE:-
- they told me that RM 66 is 1mpbs...fine..they keep insisted that is 1mbps...I don't know..for the god sake, I take that package ._.##?
- 2nd, I'm using my friend's modem and account [1mb package and same model], and speedtest can reach 13xxkbps aka ddl is >195kb/s
- speaks in chinese, but I translate it to english in here... ._.

He told me this... "that cannot be trusted one, use speedometer instead"

so he told me "restart the modem and try again...."

Fine, I really feel fed up a bit...so I asked him..."hey, is this 1mbps or 512k? why I got 512k speed only leh, last time you said during registration already 1mbps oh..."

Then, he use the mouse...and point to LAN icon...and click on STATUS...

but my speed all < 70kbps...and CALCULATE for him to see....and I told him..."hey, this is 512k speed....its not 1mbps..."

then he said this to me, "actually 512k and 1mpbs not really far difference leh"

ok...I'm really unsatisfied...I paused the flashget, plug off my modem, and took the other modem that have my friend's REAL 1mbps account in it...

I told him this "this one is my friend's modem and 1mpbs account inside, you said mine also 1mbps...so I should be get the same speed like him...right"

He said, "ya...1mpbs..."

fine, I connect the modem...and start flashget again...but this time I can get >195kbps dl speed...

And I said this to him "eh, why his 1mbps connection and mine not same leh...mine is 512k la...not 1mpbs...[/b]

He said.."maybe server got problem just now mah..."

._.#??WHATS WITH THAT REPLY?...FIne.....I do the same thing...switch back to my account...and I got speed lower < 70k...but when I switch back to my friend I got >195kbps

Automated Backup

Hi...

I got this scenario:-

- I want to backup Linux A[192.168.0.254] to backup server Linux B[192.168.0.253]
- I've tried to use rsync and use crond to schedule my backup on every 4pm

CODE

00 16 * * * rsync -av -e ssh 192.168.0.254:/home/mail /home/backup

and tried to schedule it in crond...but my problem now is:-

- how to make sure it won't ask for password when it access to the server? Coz, I'ved tried to schedule it, restart the crond service, but after it passes the schedule time, nothing happens...I suspecting the backup server can't access the target server because of the password?
- is there any other way beside using rsync?

Oh, another...why my nagios reported that my http service is "HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden", but when I type the domain name, I can see the Fedora Core Test Page...

[Urgent]Can't login to desktop

Helo...I've some problem with this computer.

I can't login to desktop, and it keep displaying "Welcome" screen and stuck there, CRTL + ALT + DEL is not working, but the mouse cursor is working...it just stuck there..and no hdd activities.

But when access to safe mode [same account], it works normally, I've ran all the virus checking tools, spyware checking tools [yes, I've done some research in this thread :/]. I've tried disable all startup items in msconfig, but when restart to normal mode, it still the same, it will stay at the "Welcome" screen, and thats it...stuck there :/

Any helps? Thanks!

How to subscribe and setup?:-
- Go to your nearest DiGi center, ask them that you want to subscribe to unlimited data plan [RM 99 per month]
- You'll need at least 21 y.o and above [lol, I didn't know this until the DiGi spokesman told me about this when I want to sign up..[of coz, I'm 21+../sweats../old]
- After you sign up, you'll need wait for the activation, normally half in hour or within 2 days [thanks mumeichan for told me this "/]
- Just make sure you have EDGE enabled phone, I'm using Nokia 6230i as the modem.
- Whats the configurations? It's same with GPRS configuration settings, just dial *128#, select Mobile Services-> GPRS-> Unlimited Plan-> Settings.
- After you got the settings and activated it, you're ready to go ^^".

Connecting to your computerp:-
- Install Nokia PC Suite.
- Connect your phone to your computer, and open Nokia PC Suite, and select Connect to the Internet, then select DiGi Malaysia and click Connect.
- Or alternatively, you can always create a new connection with dialing number is: *99#, with blank username and password.

Download Speed: Up to 29.5kb/s or 236kbps
Upload Speed: 5kb/s or 40kbps

Slow response after startup

Hi...I wanted to ask something regarding my notebook:-

- The problem is that, after boot up, entering the desktop, two icons [wireless networking and local area network] will not shows up, until at least 5 minutes, then it will shows.
- This causing me can't do any works before those two icons shows up...

Failed starting up windows after installations

Hi...

I wanted to ask something..

the case is like this:-

- My friend's computer being infected by viruses, which caused his I.E corrupted and also corrupted some windows file system, which caused the system becomes unstable, and always hang.

- So we decided to reinstall ther OS using the repair function, because he doesn't want to reformat his windows, and since he still got his data inside

- But after the repair procedure was completed, we're unable to login into the windows, the loading bar doesn't even showing up. But when pressing the F8 button, and using the "Disable restart upon error"[uh, something like that]..it will shows the BSOD with the error code:

STOP: 0x0000007B(0xFA330528, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

Can any sifu help me? Thanks

[TUTORIAL]How to capture voice or sound from other application.

Do you have any favourite sound, music or voice from your favourite application or game but can't found any of the soundtrack of it? Don't worry. This tutorial will teach you on how to capture the voice, music or sound from other application without make you headache to find the soundtrack .

Level: Beginner~Intermediate
Difficulty: Easy, don't worry, you doesn't need any sound mastery skills.

1. First, download Audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.net

2. Install to your computer.

3. Run Audacity. [If you don't know how to run the application after it's already installed in your computer, just bang your head to the monitor..baka >_<!!!]

4. Go to File -> Preferences...

5. On the Audacity Preference window, please select Audio I/O tab, on the Playback section, and on the Device, please select your audio output device.

6. On the Recording section, please choose your audio device too.

7. On the Channels, select Stereo.

8. Select Quality tab, and on the Default Sample Rate, select 48000 Hz.

9. On the Real-time sample rate converted, select [b]High-quality Sinc Interpolation.

10. Select File Formats tab, and MP3 Export Setup, select the Bit Rate to 192 or more, depends on you .

11. Then, click on Find Library button, then click on Yes if a message box pops out.
