Can't share files over lan with router

I have two computer, both computer are Windows XP Professional and connecting to a router to access internet.

I am able to ping each other but cannot see another computer on My Network Places.

What should I do?

Problem details
I replaced my old modem with the new router to make my new computer can connect to internet.

On my old modem, I was able to get the correct speed, 1mbps at most of the time. On this new router, I tried to reconnect and restart it many times, but still I can't get the speed at 1mbps, what's the problem?

I just come back from my kampung and found my RM88 streamyx has return to original 1mbps but not 1.5mbps anymore

Anyone got the same situation?
