Swing Application Framework

Hi,

I've installed Netbeans 6.0.1 and created a project (Java > Java Desktop Application > Basic Shell).
By default, it'll create a frame [extends a FrameView class] (with menu bar, content panel and status bar together with a progress bar) and an about box.
My question is, how do I change the minimum size of the frame? I can't find the properties and using setMinimumSize(new Dimension(640,480)); doesn't seem to help either (like it does nothing).
The frame size is not restored when it is reopened (after closing down the application). Instead the last size is used.
All I need is to actually make the minimum size of the frame.

The API isn't much help. Is there some code I don't know of (of course there is but then this should be simple)?

Okay, now I know where I should put the setMinimumSize thingee.
For those who need the answers, you should place it in the Java source which extends SingleFrameApplication at function configureWindow(java.awt.Window root).

Programming on Windows Vista

Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade to Windows Vista. But before I do that, I would like to know if Vista is stable (no crashes) to do programming (lets just say I don't trust Vista yet). Can Vista support these programming languages IDEs:

Java (Netbeans, Eclipse)
C++ (Codeblocks, Dev C++, MinGW)
VRML

Or do I need to check the IDEs' developers website about it being stable on Vista or not?

Okay, lets say I have two PSPs and I want to play LAN game. But one is a room and another one is another room where the two can't really do ad-hocs. Is this kind of configuration possible?

Please bear in mind that there is no internet connection.
The two wireless APs are not giving out IP address. They are merely intermediaries.
Only the router in the wall is giving out the IP address.

I have a few questions regarding Xbox 360 and PC. Hope you guys could help me.
First of all, is it possible to play Xbox 360 and PC using LAN or System Link? Not using Live, don't want to involve the Internet.

If yes, what are the games available which is capable of doing this? I heard Shadowrun can be played LAN between Xbox 360 and PC. Is this true?

Hi,

I've been frantically googling around on how to get the data from a web service which returns arrayOfAnyType (XML) with no luck.

Okay, let's say the function is something like below

ws.getNameByFame() returns ArrayOfAnyType

Golden Key

Hi, first of all, any of you forumers know anything about Golden Key Honour Society?

From what I know, you can't simply grab a form and join. It is by invitation only. And to get the invitation, you need to excel in your studies. Only the best 15% students (in any university which is associated with GoldenKey, I think) will be chosen. And it's an international NGO and not-for profit society.

What do they do? And if I am a member, what do I need to do? Do I have to attend courses or examinations or what?

I really want to know what are the benefits and purposes of joining Golden Key Honour Society? (I mean, besides getting scholarships and making new contacts)

Has anyone lucky (or should I say good) enough to join them? If yes, what do you think of the society? Please, share your experience.
