How to make transparent shape in Photoshop?

Hi,

In windows paint, you can just select whatever shape you want like circle, rectangular click, and you can select the shape to have a see thru background. the colour of your shape outline is the colour you set. How to do the same thing in photoshop?

I tried making new layer, then tried modiying the opacity, and fill and layer properties, does not work. What I got was a circle, but black colour line which I presume is the orange colour but 1pixel in thickness so appears black.

I wanna make a simple elipse shape with the ouline colour the same as the colour I chose. How to make that?

I don't want to make in paint and import in photoshop if possible.

How to make gridlines as a layer in photoshop?

Hi,

I know in photoshop CS4, if you go to View>Grid you will see the gridlines.

My question is how to make the gridlines as a layer? Is it possible to lock the grids in place and modify other images ontop of it?

The other way I can do is by printscreen the grid though this is a easy but dumb solution as the grid dimensions can vary easily.

Free Template for image upload on on website?

Hi,

I am lazy to install my Dreamweaver CS3 and go to thru setting images and icon sizes for each image and linking it all just to make the website work. I want to host images with icons on my website. Simply dragging the images only gives a link wthout the icons to how it looks like. Is there a photobucket/imageshack template of some sort or 3rd party software which I can log into it like filezilla which I can use for uploading pics to mywebsite whenever I choose? Because I have deleted all my web contents, and I don't really want to use imageshack/photobucket/flckr or any other sites.

Thanks

Hi,

I made a photoshop action, and it works. But when I made another action but I just wanted to change the images to B&W the action works, I can save it. But when I play it, I get popup boxes saying all kinds of instructions about layers etc, I just click ok to all. How to remove the popup boxes from ever coming out so that its all automated. I've included the 2 action files. Test 3 works without popping out but then that is just making the picture darker, test 5 works in grey scale, but it has the box popups which I want to remove. I want a functioning test5 file without the popup boxes.

Help

Photoshop actions

Hi,

Does anyone know a good method of highlighting wrinkles on the face? Most tutorial's out there focus on removing skin wrinkles. I want to enhance wrinkles which are already there.

One method I know is to make another layer behind, then just put any colour you want, change the layers into overlay or any kind of light (depending on colour), then your colour you choose will highlight the wrinkles better. Lastly manually trace the wrinkle's in another layer.

Here is a sample image of captain star-trek

Here is the jpg after I modified it:

This is the photoshop modified image of that jpg
http://s3.filesdump.com/file/5efd82cef3b8/...tewart.psd.html

Thanks for the help

Weird CF card output. From 8gb > 2gb

Hi,

I just bought a 8gb peak CF card http://www.peakhardware.com/products/produ...il.asp?PAID=276

When I first slot it into the machine, it says error reading/saving file. Tried few times then no idea what happend it worked. I saw a 7056mb or something like that on the screen (I think, since I was not paying attention at that time). After few shots, I decided to format the card (I did not format it before) inside the EOS D30, then I noticed that the capacity went down to 2048mb (this one I noticed). I have no idea why does this happen. I checked with my card reader, and it says 2gb FAT format CF on my pc. Where is the other 6gb? How to find out if the card really has 8gb or 2gb? The CF card shows 8. Maybe an error in printing there?

Thanks

Is there a ceiling tripod?

Hi,

I am looking for a ceiling tripod as I need to capture things going on at the table from a perpendicular view. I could not bring the lens nearer, as it will distort the view. (It has been shown that below 2m distance from object, the object will morph and will not show its true size due to this error. I have thought of using macro, then I would not need to mount it on the roof, but the morphing of the object is something I would like to avoid).

Does anyone know any tripod or anyway I can hook my camera and video camera (up to 1.5kg in weigh) on the ceiling looking down without me duct tapping the camera?

Any ground tripod, ladder, etc will not work as the room is small and people are moving everywhere. Must mount it from above.

Thanks
