Yes, we all know how bad our broadband (wired, wimax,3g) services is in malaysia. Question is, how can we, as users lobby the govt/providers to improve?

Personally, i had the privilege to try a lot of broadband services in Asia :
Msia-Maxis 3G, Streamyx, P1,
HK-3G 1010, 3G PCCW (HK)
AUST - OPTUS 3G
NZ - VODAFONE 3G

AND i cant understand why our broadband service,bandwith,connection is so bad. Are there anyone from the Msian ISP providers in this forum that can give us some insight?

im using the abit AX78 mainboard and am looking to upgrade to a faster CPU- I looked at the manual and online and it says it supports CPU

Hello SIFUS/MASTERS
i would like to get your feedback(s)

Im going to start work @ plaza sentral soon (kl sentral/lrt/ kl hilton) and currently im renting at sunway parkville, townhouse @ sunway damansara/kota damansara. This place now is getting too noisy and i really need to move soon

What is my best option to move closer to kl sentral and finding a place within my budget (not more than 1.2k per month rental)?
My requirement ? just a normal basic unit will do with pool and security la....

Maybe im in damansara for too long and the best option so far i have come up with is metropolitan square..... perhaps there are better options in kl / bangsar / pj ? ?

What is Project 1000?

Project 1k was designed as a social project to gauge how the general public response to
1) taking pics with a stranger's baby
2) going to a blog to register their name (IT know how)

The rules of this project is that i will not
1) will not take pics with frens and families
2) only take pics with people whom APPROACH my baby. i wont approach any tom,d*** or harry to take pic with my baby lah...

so far...the response has been positive, which surprised even myself! Lot of people are receptive to the idea and also a lot of people log on to my blog to see if their friends are in the list...hehehe.... also a lot of guys log in to see the pretty gals in the project list im sure

of course...1k is a HUGE TARGET i have to say myself. im not sure if and when i will be able to hit it but im just doing the best i can la...and hopefully one day my son will say....wow ....cool project dad!

Lately, ive been getting a lot of 1 liner comments on my blogs such as great blog! keep working! or other generics types. Some of these get caught in the spam filter and some dont. so i wonder are these real actual comments or are these bots or people spamming to advertise their site or blog?

Open and illegal burning is always a hot issue, regardless of whether its during the haze season or not. Hackwire already setup a blog as a community project to help spot and eradicate these illegal burnings : http://smokechaser.wordpress.com/

Currently there are a few good samaritans doing this on their own in the field but i feel that everyone should chip in, using the internet as a resources to share, report and combat these illegal open burnings.

Why should you participate?
1)Do remember, air pollution affects everyone not just the environment

2)State govt have already started to prosecute land owners and not just the culprit. So this makes fighthing air pollution everyone’s job (see below)

How can you help ?
If you spot any illegal open burning,
1)snap a pic of the place (as close as you can), culprit (if you can) and crime scene

2) Provide specific time,place and date

Email all to hackwire and he will post it up to his blog. We hope that this blog not only will raise the awareness but also get the community chip in to fight AIR pollution.

Things to take note of :
Most culprits will start burning at night, where smoke is hard to detect. This is especially true when they pour in petrol so the smoke is not white but black.

Some illegal burnings occur in private land: Please do not enter as these people would intimidate you with lawsuits or worst, shoot you on sight. Just snap a pic as close as you can.

Easy to spot places: Construction sites, kampong and also jungle area (yes. Its true)

A downpour helped quash much of a fire that had been ranging in Dengkil, Selangor, since early this month. However, that will not save the owner of a 658-hectare piece of land from being charged in court for open burning.

"We've given the green light to the state Department of Environment (DOE) for PPNS to be taken to court," she told reporters yesterday when met at the site where the fires have been raging since early this month. Despite the heavy rain, the surrounding trees and bush were still smoldering yesterday.

"This will send a clear message that this sort of thing cannot be done to the detriment of the environment and public health," Wong added.

Workers for PPNS allegedly started the fires to facilitate clearance works to make way for a palm oil plantation project.

When contacted, Selangor DOE director Che Asmah Ibrahim said the suit was registered at the Klang Sessions Court yesterday.

"It will take about two weeks for the court to fix a date for mention," said Che Asmah.

Danger of fires spreading

Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson Zaki Omar, meanwhile, said fires have been detected on a total of 65.97 hectares of land in seven different parts of the area since early this month.

Problem description: Now this is very strange....i never had this problem before but since yesterdayi realise my net connection keep getting DC and redialing in by itself. so this morning i decided to stop bitcomet and voila! everything is fine, even direct downloads from websites. WHEN I START BITCOMET HOWEVER, MY MODEM WILL DC and then redial in again. Is this a software or TM issue?

Also i have a interesting question . 2 days ago i was shopping at Tesco Damansara and somehow i managed to checkout with some unpaid merchandise. The unpaid merchandise in question is a box of gillete shaver blades

Of course, i plan on returning this unpaid merchandise the next few days and then it hit me, what and how will those folks at TESCO react/respond? Call in the cops? do a huge PR exercise? give me a RMXXX shopping spree? Well, my wife says that all im gonna get is just a THANK YOU. We will see

DumB Question on mouse

This is probably a strange thread to most people. Since we always get HELP ME TO CHOOSE a notebook, im asking you guys to help me to convince my friend not to BUY THE HP TABLET NOTEBOOK!

My friend ( IT newbie) WANTED to buy a HP Tablet PC due to its price (RM2999) and always bcos its "touch screen tablet pc. I went to demo the machine and true enough, it was really hard to use ( touch screen) and not to mention it was slow (AMD 64 & turion config with 2gb ram on vista). Still, my friend wanted it bcos it was CHEAP.

anyone have any ideas? i know he will regret for sure....
