I'm currently planning to preorder the Evangelion 2.22 Blu-Ray, set to be released on May 26th, from Amazon.jp. Since ordering by myself is a bit too expensive with the delivery cost, I'm looking for people who are interested to buy the Blu-Ray or DVD as well.

FAQ

So how much is the DVD/Blu-Ray?

The DVD edition is 4387yen while the Blu-Ray edition is 4464yen.

Got what in it?

Basically this should be the same as the first Evangelion movie Limited Edition release, that comes with filmstrip and commentary booklet, etc. etc. according to the description at the Amazon JP listings. Obviously, this is also owning a piece of otaku history, ヽ( >∀<)ﾉ AHAHA AHAHA AHAHAHAHA

What's the delivery cost then?

Amazon JP has a fixed shipment cost of 1400yen for one shipment + 300 yen per item shipped. This equates to about minimum of 2100 yen if I order alone, but conversely, if I share with n number of people, the shipment cost will drastically go down by 300 + 1400/n yen per item shipped. That's why I am looking for interested people who want to preorder it.

This one got English sub/dub arr??

No. It's an R2 release. I'm not buying it to watch, I'm buying it for collection. I already own the 1.01 LE release, you see.

How to pay/collect the item?

Will determine it after I reach enough numbers or by April. Best if everyone is living around Klang Valley or Cyberjaya area so we can meet up and share our goods!

Which LCD should I buy?

Hi everyone. My CRT monitor just kaput and I've decided to buy a new LCD. After scouting around Low Yat Plaza today, I've narrowed my choices down to this three models:

1. AOC 2236VW
2. Samsung 2243SW
3. BenQ G2200HD

My budget is around RM 500 and those three nicely fit in to my budget. I am wondering in terms of how "tahan" the product is and warranty, which one of those three should I choose? I'm kinda leaning towards AOC since the salesperson in LYP claim it has 3-years onsite warranty service, but can anyone confirm how true is that? I've heard Samsung has terrible after-sales too and I don't have any idea about BenQ after-sales at all. If there are any other better models I can get instead of those three, I'm open to hearing them too.

So to all the owners of these LCD models, mind sharing your experience using them with me? Anything, whether good, bad, ugly, exceptional about the screen, please share with me. It's pretty much my first time buying an LCD (yes i'm a dinosaur lol) and I really want it to be a good one.

Crazy one-day Eva 2.0 trip to Singapore

Kinda planning a short one day trip to Singapore on September 17th or so to go watch Evangelion 2.0 which is airing there from 17/09/2009. Since I no money for accomodation, I plan to leave LCCT at 6:45am AirAsia flight and come back the same day at 11:20pm (according to AirAsia website schedule). Total cost of the return trip is RM 95 per person (so says the AirAsia website). I don't know how much the movie tickets are gonna be though, but prepare at least 50 SGD spending money I guess.

Anyone else mau ikut me there?

I own a Sapphire HD3870, using single slot cooling, and i find that the noise generated by the cooler on the card is simply unacceptable on idle (Ironically, i can't hear a thing from it on load because the game noises drown it out). It's not exactly loud, but it's very noticeable.

So, I'd like to look at my options for 3rd party coolers for it. I roughly have a budget of RM 150 (max RM200) for buying one, can any sifu recommend me some HD3870 coolers within that price range

Colorful HD3870 512 DDR4

I saw a Colorful HD3870 512MB DDR4 card for sale at PC Zone today at RM680, which is really quite cheap, so i'm tempted to buy it

But I've never really heard of the brand before, so I'd like to have some opinions on that brand? It is good or not? Will it last long? Is it worth the savings in the long run, because the price of that card is at least 100 less than a brand name 3870, which is really, really tempting.

In conjunction with their Concourse Sales event, Borders @ The Curve will be organizing an Anime/Manga Drawing Competiton on the 26th of August, Sunday, from 5pm to 7pm. Participants will have to design an original character of their choice in the competition.

The competition will be divided in to two categories, Group A for 7-15 year olds and Group B for 16 year olds and above. Enclosed herewith are the Rules and Regulations of the competition.

Terms and conditions:
1. This competition is open to ALL. Participants will compete in either one of the following categories: Group A: 7 to 15 years old; Group B: 16 years old & above.
2. For participants who are below 18 years old, co - signature by parents / guardian is required.
3. All contestants are required to bring their own drawing materials (dry medium only). Borders will only provide the drawing paper.
4. Registration for the competition will only be opened from 8th to 25th August. Latecomers will not be entertained.

I hope I'm not in the wrong sub-forum, if so, sorry mods!

I would like to ask where can I find poster printing services for image files. I would like to print some hires pictures out in a poster form to decorate my room, but I dunno where to get this service since I'm pretty sure photostat shops wont't do this.

Anyone knows where to find such service? I'm not looking for bulk printing, by the way, just want to print 2-3 posters out for fun. Thanks a lot.

Good Routers for heavy P2P traffic

I'm going to buy a new router(wired only, no wireless) for use in my new house where the connection is shared between 3 people including me. I'll be using it heavily for P2P, mainly BT and I'd like to ask which router is the best to use for it.

Currently I'm thinking of buying D-Link DI-604, izzit a good router for P2P? BTW, I have a modem already so I don't need routermodems.

Reading values from a text file

I need some help with a coding assignment. My assignment requires me to design a POS system and I need help on the part where I have to read the current product stocks and prices from a text file and do operations on them.

I am thinking of using a CSV style file to store the values in this format:

How to code the program to read the file and put the prices and amount in to different variables?
