Err...I don't usually see banner cause I uses adblock. Today, I am testing using google chrome and saw some sort of adult site related banner.

I can't really read chinese but some of those words seems like playboy, and the pictures of naked women.

Isn't lowyat a family friendly website? LOL...se7en or whoever handling the banner ads could specify not to have adult contents in those banners.

Details of the complaint :

First of all, I am complaining here to warn others about this lousy businessman. He does not take his sales seriously. From what I read in his sales thread, this is not the first time he delaying people's order.

Anyway, I bought the item from him and paid on 23/10/09. His replies was prompt and fast before payment. After payment no news from him until I waited for 1 week and still no item yet. Therefore, I posted on his sales thread about it.

He then said item returned to him cause I didn't give him my full name. FYI, I have been using my initials (kfliong) to trade for a lot of times already and no problems so far for around 8 years.

Then I gave him my full name and full address again. He did not reply again until I posted in his sales thread again saying I am still waiting. Pos express dijamin sampai esok.

Then only I get PM from him saying item send Friday (30/10/09) with tracking number LX525525507MY.

But tracking number does not exist in pos express site. Plus pos express jamin sampai esok. No way it get delayed for 1 week as my area is not some middle of nowhere. It's in KL kepong and an easy to find location.

If seller want to clear his name. He can refund or else I am not bothered. This is an irresponsible seller.

BTW, you said first shipment was bounced back to you. Can scan me the proof?

If no response from seller in 3 days, I will post his personal details here. PM to seller already.

Car tyre puncture problem

My car had a puncture a month back. Luckily I saw it in time and manage to see a piece metal stuck inside. As big as a nail.

Then I manage to pump air at petrol station and drive to a workshop. I didn't give much though when I drove up to the workshop because that workshop looks more like a simple service and repair. Whole shop is empty and not even a tyre shop. I asked that worker whether they can fix my tyre puncture and that guy said ok. So I drove up and this guy proceeded to take out my tyre for sealing the hole. He took out the metal which is quite long. But then when he try to put in the seal for puncture (a piece of soft rubber compound commonly used for sealing puncture), I think he plug into wrong hole. I think it ended up making the puncture even bigger. So the compound doesn't work even after his "sifu" came and tried. So they changed my tyre to spare one. The sifu said to go to proper tyre shop and ask them to "repair" the tyre.

After that, I drove my car to my regular mechanic (a proper tyre shop) and they manage to seal the puncture with a bigger piece of seal which is used for lorries. But after driving for 1 month, air is still leaking out of the tyre. Every week I need to pump air for the tyre because it will drop to around 120psi (or is it 120kpa). Usual is around 210. I called my regular mechanic and he said must change the tyre. No such thing as "repair" the tyre.

So, any idea guys? No point keeping this as spare because by the time when I really need to use the spare tyre, all air already leaked.

If there really such thing as repairing the tyre?

how does a cdrom/dvdrom eject tray go faulty?

I have this client office where majority of their cdrom/dvdrom/cdrw/dvdrw (basically optical drives) eject button not working. Around 6 PCs out of 10.

That means when press eject button, the tray will not eject. Have to use pin to press the pin hole only the tray will eject. But other function seems to be working fine.

It is totally random with brands spreading like samsung, liteon, hitachi, sony and so on. Some are few months old and some are few years old.

This is really baffling to me. I have my own optical drives used like 10 units already but never had one with such a problem.

Anyone have any idea how this can happen? This is really really strange.

What is mod's take on user gender?

I would like to know what is the mod's opinion and enforcement on users putting opposite gender in their nick.

Actually, I only see guys doing it. Some of them are clearly male but put as female. Their motive, I am sure something like being able to post in female section or trying to get some attention. Or other things that I do not want to elaborate.

Anyway, this has been a long time issue, I do not see mods doing much on this. I personally dislike people doing this. Especially in kopitiam where they are posting like mad and you see all female posting there but majority of them are male. I guess not all have hidden agenda with selecting as female. But some does have their hidden agenda for this.

They can't use excuse such as sharing account with girlfriend and so on. According to RnR you are not allowed to share accounts.

Maybe mods doesn't see this as something serious that need to be enforced. I am fine if they think so. Just want to know what their take on this.

Dispute over resignation

Ok, here is my case. Need advice from HR experts.

I joined this company on Sep 08. The contract is six month with 30 days notice for resignation. Days goes by until the contract end on Mar 09. Contract expired and waiting for confirmation from them. But nothing. Talked to boss, she said ok can confirm. Waiting for management to issue confirmation. Waited like a month still no news. Then heard from HR said waiting for big big boss to confirm only.

Waited and waited then only confirm on Jul 09. By the time already too late. I already got plans. I mean, you don't confirm me, maybe I think you don't need me...waiting for me to resign or something. I have to look for my own alternative mah...can't wait forever. At first the confirmation is no increment. Made me even more mad. Then later only back date increase around 3.5%. Okay fine..I didn't sign any confirmation letter. Cause I already want to resign. Did not sign anything.

I resigned 24 hour notice. Give resignation letter stating I am not bound to any contract and resigning on this date and bla bla.

They asked me to pay them back the extra 3.5% they back dated to me. Cause they already bank in the money end of Jul 09. That's 4 month worth of 3.5% extra. Wrote me a letter saying something like I need to pay them back and if not they can sue me. Of course I did not sign the letter. I will pay them back only if they pay my remaining salary.

Anyway, I already left now. And the big boss said I had to give 1 month notice as in previous contract. But the thing is, that contract already ended. As far as I am concerned, I am not bound to any form of employment contract.

So, what the deal now? Any expert can comment?
