THIS year the Kuala Lumpur Japan Club will not only be making Japanese handicrafts for sale but also introducing its popular summer festival, Ennichi to Malaysians at its Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar on Nov 9 at Nikko Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

“Ennichi is a happy event in Japan.People celebrate it by playing games and prominent roads will be filled with stalls selling different kinds of food,” said organising chairman Fumiko Kudo. “We want to bring the same atmosphere to not only the Japanese living in Kuala Lumpur but also to all Malaysians,” she aded.

Kudo added that besides games and food, visitors can also buy Japanese cartoon character masks, Japanese snacks and also a chance to be dressed in a Kimono at their photo corner.

The bazaar, which is in its 36th year, is known to attract those who love handicrafts as more than 1,700 pieces of neatly stitched items made by Japanese expatriates and members of the club would be put on sale during the bazaar. Kudo said visitors could also buy selected electrical appliances from Japanese manufacturers as well as gift and food vouchers at a discounted price.

The public can also try their hands at making personal calendars, photo portraits and learning the right way to prepare tea in true Japanese style.

“Besides 30 commercial participants at the bazaar, we also have about 14 charitable organisations joining us,” said Kudo.

They include Rumah Hope, Rumah Charis, Selangor Cheshire Home, Tasputra Perkim and Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled.

“Like in the previous years, proceeds from this charity bazaar will go to several Malaysian charities, and we hope the public will assist us in raising more money this year,” said Kudo.

Last year the club raised RM160,000 and the money was channelled to 24 welfare organisations in the country. The bazaar will be from 11am to 3pm at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

Admission to the bazaar is by donation of RM12 (if purchased before Nov 9) and RM15 (purchase at the door).

Children below 12 can enter at no charge.

Tickets are available at information counters of Jaya Jusco Stores (Mid Valley and One Utama), Isetan (KLCC, Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, Gardens Mid Valley) and the Japan Club Kuala Lumpur.

Safe Mode

hello. Im facing problem when i wanna run my OS in safe mode. Normally, we press F8 if we wanted to run in safe mode. The previous owner said the same thing to me, when imasking him. But every time I press F8, the boot menu will appeared instead of safe mode. Im using ASUS A8N-SLI mobo fyi.Anybody can help me?

My 80g doesnt recognized by windows XP

my WD 80g was not recognised by windows XP when im trying to install it. i formated it several times, but the result is still the same. but it works well as slave hdd. i wabt to make it as master since my master hdd was crashed last week.anybody can help me on this, i even used WD dianostic tools to format it..TQ
