Well everyone, I am a freelance designer. 2 days ago, there's been one person from a company named TRUSOS, had contacted me and offered me an assignment to redesign a brochure(consists of 2 A4) layout. All the information and photos are provided by her. I charged her RM 200, and she was delighted with the price. The deadline was on X'mas Eve.

Despite of the exhaustion due to long journey travelling from Penang to KL to Cyberjaya, I rushed the work and managed to complete it by 1 AM today (X'mas Eve) after I reached home. Before that, she'd agreed on to the deposit on 23rd. However, she apologized that she didn't do the deposit and stated that she was busy. It's alright that there's times when people are busy, so I forgave her.

Today, 11 AM, I urged her to do the deposit and so that everything could be finalized. The next thing is she started to bargain, straight away asked me to charge her just RM 100. I believe my work doesn't cost only RM 100. I believe, to every designer and artist, our work is always priceless in the bottom of our heart. What I am trying to say here is I believe my work cost more than RM 100. I ain't trying to boast, but you'd differentiate my work and the work by other "designer" later on.

Hence, I stayed firm with my price, then, she said, there's a designer that did something good and impressive and charged her only RM 50. Now, that topic intrigued me. So I'd requested to see his work after I sent her a copy of my work in screen resolution(since she has not done the payment).

After seeing my design, she said she doesn't love my design and won't pay me for that, saying that dark background doesn't suit Information Technology, but saying that my design is more towards fashion and would be interesting if it's for advertisement. So, I asked her back, isn't the main aim of redesigning the brochure is to be eye-catching, grabbing audience's attention, and promoting the services that TRUSOS offers in a better way? She kept quiet. Then, I said the usage of dark background is to create a better readability instead of what she said which I somehow think irrelevant(she's bullshitting). She gave a short reply - Oh, ok. Later on, I even explained to her about how human eyes work and hence I split the text in a way that human would read more instead of skimming through. Then, I believe she'd blocked me, or appear offline on msn. I tried contacting her but she refused to answer.

I am not trying to say that my design is good, but at least, at here, comparing mine with the other design, I'd believe my design would be better. In my opinion, the other design doesn't even fit to be called as design, I believe even a 5 years old kid would do that out.

Last but not least, something that upsets me utmost is that most people in Malaysia still opt a cheaper price than a better quality of design. Well, trying to be frank, her behavior disappoints me as well To me, if she isnt intended to ask me to design a better, attractive and effective layout, no matter how much is the price, she should not offer me the assignment at first. It doesn't feel good working intensively whilst having a bad fever, cough and flu.

It's just being unfair to me...What a great present on x'mas eve...

Jquery Horizontal Navigation

HI folks, I'd browsed thru the net and found this interesting topic - Horizontal Navigation

And I tried to use it, however, I found out that if I placed my content at lower hemisphere under the middle of the screen, and needed to scroll down to reach the content, the page will tilted up to top of the page after pressed Next Page, how can I fix the view at the context without tilting up to the top page when the effect is going on?

Font rendered in Firefox and IE

Why is it the font rendered in firefox is so damn ugly compare to IE when I am building the web thru CSS? The font in firefox looks so thin and cacat compare to IE, though both also using Times New Roman.

Hi all, I am currently going to work on my final assignment in this trimester in MMU. I'd been advised by the lecturer to do metal sculpture for tornado and butterflies. However, currently Im in a dilemma to know which kind of metal suits sculpture the most? And where could I buy them in cyberjaya or nearest to cyberjaya?

What's happening on my SMTP?

My company needs to send newsletter to 10k members monthly, i'd seek for others' advises in using bulk mail softwares such as atomic mail sender, maxbulk mailer and 1st mass mailer. I was trying to use my own domain as a mailer as gmail doesnt allow others to send more than 1k in a day's time.

I set the smtp and pop settings for each software to my domain smtp and pop - mail.the-feathers.com(the port was automatically used as 25), username and password(Im keeping t to myself). Authentication I selected ESMTP, while TLS I got no idea what to set, so I let it be defaut(none), basically the softwares should work right? In fact, 2 days ago, the Atomic mail sender works when I was online in school library, it sent to 5 emails I tested, but the next day, with the same settings, when I was trying it in the same spot again, it doesnt work anymore. May someone guide me out? I logged into my domain and look for any clues to alter, but seriously, none.

Or is there any other better way to do it? They wanna send those 10k mails in a day's time. It's kinda pressure. And we don't want to waste money to buy others' services.

Further info :
I checked the log file when I was sending the mails using maxbulk mailer, at first it succesfully logged into mail.the-feathers.com, then in the next second, it said logged out, and the connection was stopped / Connection times out.

While 1st mass mailer and atomic mail sender, they're currently displaying "Cannot Access to The Internet". However I could online in my school library.

However, I'd been seeing other website developers have the ability to skip navigation as well, but moving fastly from top to bottom, and when press top, it will like scrolling damn fast from bottom to top again. Hi there, I would like to know how to, for eg. i've given a box of 200px width x 50px height in a website, and I would like to make a whole list, perhaps bout 8~10 anchors with html links to automatically scroll from right to left end, and non-stop rolling again from left end to right, how can I make it? Is it thru Jquery? or JS?
