Buying Second Hand Car

Hi brothers and sisters,

I am planning to buy a second hand Kelisa or Kenari for myself. I have RM10,000 that is available for D/P, and am looking for price around RM20,000. From my research, I found that with my budget, I can get Kelisa from year 2000-2002, while for Kenari is from year 2000-2003. So I would say they are from the same range. OK, my question is:

1) What mileage range should I expect from cars that is around those years? Assume normal driving around the city.

2) What should I check when I go and see the car? Any documents that I need to demand?

3) Should I buy from private owner or dealer? Do you have any good record dealer that you can recommend me?

4) If the place is too far from me, how can I meet up with the owner? Can I ask the owner to drive to my area? I want to ask here first so that I won't look like an idiot when talking to the owner.

5) Any other suggestions that you can give me?

6) I have heard that you should bring your own mechanic to test the car if you don't know much about car. I think I am this kind of people. Have any of you invite a mechanic to test the second hand car with you before and what is the rate that they charge?

don't know if this has been posted before or not. it's not actually dreamscene, but this trick gives us exactly what we want.

1. download VLC media player, play any video file that you want to make into desktop background.

2. right click on the player and select wallpaper. you get the movie to actually played on your desktop!!

3. in setting -> preference, select playlist, then click repeat all.

4. go into preference again, select interface -> main interface -> wxWidgets. uncheck Taskbar and check Systray.

there you go. a nice little dreamscene and it doesn't need much resources to run. enjoy.

Question bout warranty

my Altec Lansing ATP3 volume controller is spoiled. just a little touch and it can get very loud. the sound kept on soft and loud when it's being turned. does the warranty cover this? i bought it on august last year.
another question..can i bring it to any Altec Lansing dealer for repair? i bought it in PC fair, and i don't know where is the company. i got its address, but i don't know how to get there. the warranty card has the Altec Lansing name on it, and also the company name. if i can take it to other dealers place, can i know where got? preferably in shopping centre.
