Just like to ask,

For example if you wanna carry a super sensitive data in a external hard disk drive,

How would you do it?

For me, I would do:

1. Create a new folder and drag all the existing folders and individual files into this folder.

2. Use KGB archiver to super compress this folder till very small size. But this would require a very powerful computer.

3. Then use WinRar to encrypt all the file names and files, and create a password which uses numbers, alphabets, general symbols, less used symbols, and foreign language left-to-right character e.g. hindi character. probably [hﺷpqown108~`*jwhØ]ﺷỹﻁ

4. Then use one of the function in WinRar to split the one single file into many multiple parts.

5. Take a few of these parts and store it elsewhere, probably online.

6. Group the remaining parts and archive it into another single file with another different set of password similar to the above. Maybe this time with completely left-to-right characters from a different language system.

7. Use another software that gives industry standard highest encryption system to encrypt the file. Then password protect it using this software only can open.

8. Delete the file. But do not write anything to the harddisk after doing that. So the harddisk actually seems to be empty.

9. When finally you want to use the file, you have to use a file recovery software first.

Script to edit files

Hey guys,

Just had an idea..

I need to help a group of people (approx 50 people) to amend a particular html file on their respective computers.

Getting them to change and teaching them to edit will not be viable.

Was wondering if there's an existing script where it will locate the particular html lines in the html file, remove it, and inject a new line, and subsequently save the file again?

Or if that doesn't work, then maybe a script that will find and replace a particular file with a new one. Much like how cracks/patches work in pirated software.

Hey guys please put forward your ideas on the fo9llowing:

I have educational related materials/newsletters/company related advertisements /etc that kind of workplace related materials that would like to be sent out to hundreds of employees worldwide.

The key issues:

If it's a plain text email, or probably html formatted email, employees will just delete it before even reading, as there are plenty of emails to read everyday and so little time to spare.

What do you think will be a great solution to get more people to read or absorb such materials?

I've thought of podcasts, or flash videos, etc. Currently having a mental block, anyone have any ideas?

Hi I have a CD, which is a phonebook directory.

It plays in through some sort of flash interface..

For example,

on the left section, there's a selection of A-Z. Clicking on it will show a list of names under that particular alphabet.
To get the address & other details of a particular name, just click on it, and it'll show on the right section.

How do I extract all the data at once, for example, export it into Excel.

Within the CD, there are a few file types: osx, dll, dir, vzd

Need to know how, because it is too tedious and time consuming to do manual data entry. Coz, can't even copy&paste, and it's all shown separately.

Improving Spoken Mandarin

Hi all,

I have a good base in spoken mandarin, with some basic knowledge of simplified Chinese writing.

However, I am not really fluent in speaking/listening in Mandarin, and I wish to improve myself further.

Any suggestions as to how I may do this? Probably there are Business Mandarin classes around KL?

And I've tried reading online chinese newspapers, e.g. those from China. Although I am able to read most characters, but I'm quite slow at comprehending and can take quite long to finish one article. I'm just too comfortable with English.

Suggestion guys? Perhaps someone who's facing the same dilemma as me..?

Record Sound

Hi all i've noticed some software stating "if u can hear it, you can record it". Meaning I will be able to record anything that's played over the speakers.

But upon trying many of the popular free software mentioned that are supposed to work, I couldn't seem to record anything.

All I can get from the device selection is my Audio Input (microphone, line-in). There's no Audio Output selection as I imagined there to be.

Any advice? As I would like to record audio from a swf file located on a website.
