[Bulk] Trung Nguyen Coffee

Trung Nguyen is read as "Chung Nguen"

Hi guys, i've tried the Vietnamese coffee and fell in love with it, and i want to share this fabulous coffee here. Try once and you love it !!!

History of Trung Nguyen

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Coffee was introduced to Vietnam by the French. At first, the emphasis was on producing top quality coffee as the Highland region of Vietnam is one of the world's best environments for coffee cultivation, combining the right altitudes, soils, natural drying conditions and temperatures. By 1996, Vietnam's coffee industry had been rebuilt from the ravages of war, and had become the worlds second largest. Apart from small roasters serving local needs, however, the crop was exported all over the world as unprocessed green beans. In that year, four enterprising university students led by Dang Le Nguyen Vu, set up a small roasting plant in Buon Me Thuot city. Buon Me Thuot is located in the central highlands, where rich volcanic soils produce some of the worlds best coffee.

Trung Nguyen Cafe
When Dang Le Nguyen Vu and his friends started Trung Nguyen coffee in 1996, they soon realised that they needed to reach the public with their new brand. Borrowing money from family and friends, they set up a coffee shop in a busy commercial area of Saigon. Now the company boasts a network of more than 1000 company owned or franchised shops in a number of countries, and the signboard of a Trung Nguyen cafe is one of the most prominent features in the streetscape of every Vietnamese city. Every Trung Nguyen Cafe offers customers a wide choice of coffee blends that served in Saigon Style.

From that small beginning, Trung Nguyen Coffee Company has become the dominant producer of branded gourmet coffee in the country. At the centre of Trung Nguyen's core philosophy is a desire to improve the lives of the people of the highlands. As a result, Trung Nguyen does not purchase green coffee beans as a commodity. All beans for Trung Nguyen's world class production facilities come from contract growers. In turn for Trung Nguyen purchasing the crop, at well above commodity traders prices, each grower must meet all the protocols set down by EurepGAP, a Swiss based standard for socially and environmentally sustainable agriculture.

Brewing guide - Recommended formula=70ml water, 30ml condensed milk, 25gram powder

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

These filters are great for people who don't have room for a coffee machine or who like to make a single cup at a time. All you need is hot water and this filter kit. Some people prefer a glass mug or cup because they can watch the progress of the brewing.
This method takes about 4-6 minutes from start to finish, about the same as brewing in a coffee machine, but it is more fun and guarantees incredible flavor.

Trung Nguyen coffee is a little coarser than most ground coffee. It is made for this method, although it still works fine in most coffeemakers.Measure out 3 slightly rounded teaspoons or one rounded tablespoon of coffee and place into the filter chamber.
You can adjust the quantity somewhat for your taste, but if the coffee is too loose it will brew too fast and lose flavor, and if packed too tight, it will brew too slowly and get cold, so don't vary too much from the 3 teaspoons recommended.

Tap the chamber a little to settle it so it will drain evenly.

Place the filter onto cup/mug

Wet the coffee using about 20 ml of hot water... which makes the water level rise just above the filter insert. Wait 20 seconds for the water to sink into the coffee.

Now pour hot water in till it is almost to the top of the filter chamber. Don't worry if some grounds float loose; they will not affect anything.
It doesn't matter if it all sinks in; after 20 seconds, pour the rest of the water in as shown in the next step. Use the hottest water you can. Water from a hot water (tea) machine is fine, or boiling water.

The brewing takes about 4-5 minutes typically. If brewing is too fast or too slow, you may want to use more or less coffee next time, respectively. We suggest pre-heating the cup with hot water before you put it together, as it helps keep the coffee hotter.
If you want to use sweetened condensed milk, add the milk to the cup BEFORE brewing for the most authentic experience.

If you are using a glass cup or mug it is easier to see when the brewing is done. If not, then after 4 minutes lift the cap and see if the water has drained.

CAUTION: Filter parts can get hot to the touch, so be careful handling them while they are still in contact with the hot water. The stainless steel filter has cool-touch handles, so use them to move the filter for improved comfort and safety.

Item 1

Description:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Robusta is relatively high in caffeine and acid, with a definite hint of chocolate flavour in the bean. Robusta is the "Dark Chocolate" of coffee - rich and strong and broad in its flavors.Using only 'culi', (the smaller. more-intense single pea-shaped coffee beans also known as 'peaberries') - these small, intense beans yield a bolder, "gourmet" version of Robusta. TN Culi Robusta is the essence of this variety grown in ideal circumstances. You may never taste a better Robusta coffee. It is an extremely full-bodied coffee and fills the room with superior aroma. The Culi Robusta is a popular choice for the first cup in the morning because of its aroma and robust flavor (and caffeine wake-up!)

Taste: Very strong, rich, thick, and smooth coffee taste, strong aroma, slight bitter. Culi is the Vietnamese word for a phenomenon that we usually call Peaberry in America. Normally, inside each coffee cherry there are two beans, but in about 5% of the crop there is only one. Because the plant puts more energy into the single bean, it develops a stronger and more intense flavor. This single bean is called Culi, and they are highly prized for their intensity of flavor.

The trademark Arabica’s flavor which is lighter, more acidic blended with Culi beans to give the fragrance of this coffee which is immediately obvious, as its gentle, mild acidy sharpness with slight chocolate taste.
