as the title shows. i am looking for a 50mm lens and i cant find enough info on this, hope anyone with information n experience can share with me n all the readers here.

i have a 40d and i am looking or a 50mm lens, on a budget though, so i might only be able to afford a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II. i heard there is an old lens, the Takumar 50mm f/1.4. i need to find out more on this.

wats the mount? i know i need a adapter. there are m42 and bayonet mounts. which one would work on my 40d? which one is recomended?

can autofocus work with an adapter that has circuits?

operational wise, any extra things need to do? manual aperture, for example?

hi there hardware wizards

need help here

i am funding for a powerful dekstop to do some 3D work - modelling, animation, some graphic work as well

mostly i am going to run autocad, revit, 3dsMAX, and rendering engine v-ray

and i have little idea on what kind of spec to get. so now i come here for some guidance. hope u all can help

the question is:

what kind of processor?

how much ram is enough?

and what kind of graphics do i need?
i hear for the graphics, the GPU is going to take over rendering work away from the processor right? in that case i will need a good graphic card?

budget is for cpu only and got around 4-5k to spare

raindrop chime
this chime simulates the behavior of raindrops. it has 5 chime pipes inside that will make 5 types of different tones when hit by the small balls. refer to the pics attached. basically it has a sticker at the bottom of the 'roof'. to use, just turn the chime upside down, the little balls will stick to the sticker, when you put it back to its original orientation, the balls will slowly fall one by one due to gravity. on average 10 ballls per minute hitting one (of few chimes) in random. the chime has a wooden frame, very solid. the sound is very clear (very good quality chime pipe) and can be heard from a distance. nice for relaxation and fits into your home's interior deco concept just nicely.
