[WTS] Edifier R1900-T3

Item(s):As per topic, Edifier R1900-TIII with modification..

Package includes:The amp itself, say a chapalang 3.5mm to RCA then.

Price:Sumwhere around RM250-ish, negotiable though.

Warranty:1 week then.

Dealing method:COD i guess, or if in SARAWAK then can do CARGO.

Location of seller:Sibu & Kuching, SARAWAK

Contact method/details:PM, shahrizan@gmail.com, 0128822011

Age of item:2 years ++

---

Item(s) conditions:Cosmetically, 8/10, one of the grill broken abit, made of MDF wood, what to expect.

Picture:Will be updated upon request.

Reason for sale:Have no use for it.

This particular EDIFIER R1900-TIII has been modified and the list quite long, but to make them short. It is way way more musical and much more better inq uality compared to stock, listen to believe. Modification cost more than RM100 in part cost alone.

- Upgraded decoupling capacitor with 3.3uF polyester instead of lousy ceramic+chapalang electrolyic before.

- Removed the functionality of BASS CONTROL since it colors and degrades the sound quality.

- Replaced the volume controller pot with ALPS RK097 (from japan). Significantly increased audio quality and removed the resistor noise from the chapalang volume control pot.

- Upgraded the power filter capcaitor to ELNA capacitors, bypassed with 0.47uF WIMA germany capacitor.

- Removed redudant and unnecessary filters in signal path which is to me, useless and very poorly designed.

- Introduced ac line regulator in the speaker for better quality supply and reduced interference from AC line spike.

- Replaced all resistors with 1% metail film resistors instead of 5% carbon type in stock speaker.

- Replaced power decoupling capacitors with ELNA RFJ (Previous SILMIC line of capacitors).

- Disabled the B input to remove induced noise from the conection and their unnecessary filters.

GainClone

Okay, starting a topic on this since I think I am going to dip my leg into the air sejuk of HiFi..but low end HiFi for me la, saja2 since bookshelves are rather SEXY compared to multimedia speakers now duncha think?

So, the GainClone, very famous, very easy, dirt cheap..just a matter of sourcing material and enclosure. I haf other chipamp 100W BurrBrown high power opamp, but rather tos tick to the cheap LM3876 gainclone, its only RM18 at farnell, definitely cheaper at other places, concept of building a very simple CMOY class amp with a BIG heatsink and BIG tranny, but much less part. Anyonestarted anything on this? Seriously need to source for sum EXTRA KEWL casing...

Also, I think in 1-2 weeks time ill try to make a PCB out of it, single layer PCB, as small as it gets, 2 chips on 1 board to reduce wiring, after I'm done wit that, I think ill ship them to sum ppl who are willing to test them out. Of course, hopefully sifoo bsl555 whould chip on advice for the PCB then.

So...shoot!

A friends IM716 came in such condition, unused and kept in the im716 case. They are more than the above cuts and these are mild compared to the others. So borrowed it for a day and plug it in to my setup..i dun haf a portable amp, shipped to a buyer xd thus..

EMU-1212m > PPA V1.1

Quite satisfied with my setup, though still acquiring parts for a PPA V2.0 and a custom Dyna-LO. ICs are L-4E6S and uses switchraft/canare everything.

HD595

Just NICE! Well for me anyways, i still remember sum DT990 owners saying HD595 doenst haf enough bass. In my opinion, it has just enough bass, but maybe that person is into heavy metal, hardcore blacks..huh..And because I dun haf enough time on anything better than this config, u wanna send ur 650 or 701, go ahead ler

KSC75

okay, everybodys favourite cheap ass fire retardent ear covers. I did the test after the PCX200 below and WHAT A RELIEF! Sumthing decent and nice after all, instrument separation it still not up to par, far better than the PX200. more balanced, though a bit light on the bass. On the setup, everything seems to be pulled down to the mids, the highs are a bit low, not that high enough and the lows are pulled up, less power in those slams. Detail wise, nice nice nice (well, at RM65 apa u mau complaint lerr!!).

PX200

On PPA, everything changes, the sound is no more..dark, it became the opposite (man this are magical), everything is so freaking..high! Lows are non-existance and mids are pulled up to the high section, and i thought KSC75 was bright..hoh..Detail wise, huh, wat do you expect, lows are gone, mids and highs sudah rojak..not to mention the timbre is a bit..artificial (or maybe i just dun like the sound signature..). Anyways, never get these horrible piece of equipment..horrid, ergh!

Oh, not to mention, when i wear this headphone, theres a constant noise buzz..the suprise is, the wire is not even connected, haha! Its like the effect of holding a seashell to your ears, just that the noise is not as decent. WTF up wit that?!?! So throughout the listening, ada la the sound there.

MZ-NF610

Okay, not the best of anything but it beeats iRiver and chapalang mp3/mp4 players right on, hoh! iPod and other new Sony i dunno ler..output power are miniscule, begging for a <removed> in amplification..

HD595

I haf never bothered to test this out, but what the hell..need a higer volume..dark..though the highs are very nice. Vocal is still nice..hell, everything is nice, well, nice as in boleh tahan la, better than nothing..better than an amped KSC75 (and definitely better than any config of the PCX200), but who uses this with portable neways..Never tested amped with the MD player.

P/S : Compared to the EMU setup below, heaven and hell..explain why i never use my portable..

KSC75

A bit thin, kinda dark..hmm..more like theres no MID, it seems hilang terus. Bass is weak, and highs are too strung up, very very bright, the brightest setup i have. Overal, thin thin thin and i hate it, but i got nothing better. Boring setup..

PCX200

Not as thin as the KSC75, better bass and not at bright, kinda suprise since on my other setup, the PX200 is a horrid MoFo! Its more interesting listening to the PX200 compared to KSC75 (but not as much and well..i still dun like it..). Unexpectedly, this first listening session shows me that the PX200 is better out of the box compared to KSC75. However, an amped KSC75 (bukan chapalang retail amp aa, PIMETA amp) the KSC75 sounds interesting and far far better than the PX200 unamped (and gizalion better than an amped PX200). Better is not..BETTER in general, its better cos it doesn sound as thin and as bright as an unamped KSC75, n i just hate anything thin and bright.

Overall, get away from those PCX200, those fiend!! Overpriced MoFos..
