Rapidshare download problem

Hi,

We have had complain from users for the past 2 weeks. After some investigation, we think streamyx has implemented some system to block rapidshare downloads.

We cannot confirm because streamyx will not admit to doing such a thing.

As of today, even KL area is affected. Our side in KL seems to be unable to connect to download files from rapidshare.

Therefore, to help with this problem, we need all users to group together and fight this with streamyx.

1) call streamyx at 1-300-88-9515

2) talk to their customer support and say have problem downloading from rapidshare.com

3) say already checked modem, use different PC and checked phone line, restarted modem, restarted PC and everything done. Still problem.

4) don't say they are blocking. Just say unable to download from rapidshare. They won't admit or know about the blocking. This is done by higher level people that does not notify them. Just say unable to download a file and give them link to a demo file if possible.

5) If they say yes, they are blocking rapidshare then tell them they have no right to do it. We are downloading demos, linux iso, open source and so on which are all legal stuffs. They cannot block us unless they have proof that we are downloading illegal stuffs.

6) Make sure to argue until they create a support ticket.

Hopefully with enough complains, they will stop blocking.

They did not block the access. The only capped it to crawling speed like 1byte per second. So most of the time you will get timeout error.

What is good with this method is ping will work. So they can say they did not block the connection.

They also have capped access to *.rapidshare.com. Anything in front will be capped. So if you access rapidshare.com, you will still be able to access. This way they can claim...rapidshare.com access working fine. Problem is their server and so on.

Good news!!!

All our complains are working!!!

I just got a call from someone from TMNET. Said got complain from me about downloading from rapidshare website. She asked me to try to download now to see if it's working.

Seems like working again!!!

To those who are still facing problems, please try to re-dial your modem.
