Reason for sale: Door faulty, it's annoying for me, as the printer detect the door is not open, and therefore, the printing doesn't proceed. But sometimes, it does works as miracle! I'm lazy to fix it as the printer has served me well for 3 years and I moved on to Laser Printer now

It's also very quiet and one of the most versatile printers that I've used in some time. The built-in duplexer (two-sided printing) is great for web page or document printouts and will save lots of wasted paper. It's also great for printing your own professional-looking photo albums, sales flyers, catalogs or whatever. The top and bottom paper trays are really slick and highly useful too. Use the auto sheet feeder on the top for plain paper and put your photo paper in the cassette on the bottom where it's kept neatly tucked inside of the printer and away from dust, moisture and etc. If you're on a printing spree, both the top and bottom trays can be loaded with up to 150 sheets of plain paper each and the printer can be set to auto-switch trays when one goes empty.

The iP4000 cranks out 4 x 6" borderless prints in about 36 seconds when connected to the computer. When connected to a camera in Pictbridge mode it makes the same 4 x 6" print in just 1:20 compared to 2:10 for last year's i860 printer. It makes a full-size 8.5 x 11" borderless glossy print in 2 minutes flat!

The iP4000 has both a USB and bidirectional parallel port so it's compatible with the new Windows and Mac operating systems and it's also useable with older Windows 95 and Windows NT machines as well.

And the iP4000 like all the other new Canon photo printers and digital cameras is PictBridge compatible. You can directly plug any PictBridge-enabled camera into the front USB port using the camera's regular USB download cable. Now you can make prints without need of a computer, simply select the images on the camera's color LCD and any printing options and then press the appropriate button. Switch paper trays easily with the paper selector switch on the front of the printer. For many users this is the simplest and easiest way to make perfect photo prints as you needn't know anything about graphic or photo-editing programs.

There's no doubt that the $499 8-color Canon i9900 printer is superior but for the vast majority of today's digital camera users who print mostly 4x6" size prints with the occasional 5x7" or letter-size print, the $149 iP4000 is going to be more than satisfactory. Looking at the printed output it's difficult to justify buying a dedicated 6- or 8-color photo printer, it's amazing what Canon is doing with just three colors. I printed a number of black & white prints and the output was good but not the equal of the Epson 2200 or HP 7960, both of which have special photo gray and black inks. Using double-weight matte paper the B&W prints looked their best.

Unlike most of the other "photo printers," the Pixma iP4000 is also an incredibly fast general purpose printer and its text output is brilliant. So while your buddy's expensive photo printer is just sitting there doing nothing 99% of the time, your iP4000 is printing letters, web pages, spreadsheets and making marvelous photos too.

A Frozen Flower (Hangul: 쌍화점; RR: Ssanghwajeom) is a 2008 South Korean film directed by Yoo Ha. A story particularly controversial is the characters’ violation of royal family protocol and their pursuit of both homosexual and bisexual love. The film is set in Goryeo Dynasty Korea and stars Jo In-sung, Ju Jin-mo and Song Ji-hyo.

Plot
In the end of Goryeo era politically manipulated by the Yuan Dynasty, the ambitious King of the Goryeo Dynasty organizes Kunryongwe. Hong Lim, the commander of Kunryongwe, captivates the King of Goryeo, and the Queen keeps her eyes on the relationship between Hong Lim and the King with a reluctant view. Meanwhile, the bilateral relation between Goryeo and the Yuan gets worse as Yuan demands to install the cousin of the King in the Crown Prince of Goryeo with ascribing it to no son the King has. The King refuses it resolutely, so the high-ranking officials of Goryeo, who are in submission to Yuan, are discontented with the king. One day, the King gives Hong Lim a covert yet unobjectionable order to sleep with the Queen instead of himself to protect the independence of Goryeo from the Yuan by making a son, the successor to Goryeo throne.

Production
A Frozen Flower is based on a true story from Goryeo Dynasty Korea, and takes its title from a song of that era which described the sexual relationships between men and women. It is the fifth feature film by director Yoo Ha, who wanted to make a change from his previous works by doing a historical film, saying, "I always felt uncomfortable with the genre but I felt I should try to overcome those feelings. It is also a new challenge for me to focus on a melodrama". He also stated that the film was "a love story between men".

Jo In-sung was on board from the beginning of the project, having turned down other acting roles to make A Frozen Flower his last work before enlisting for military service. He choose to appear in the film without knowing the exact details, having faith in the director following their earlier collaboration in 2005 on A Dirty Carnival. Jo began training for the role in August 2007, learning martial arts, fencing, horse riding and geomungo. The casting of Ju Jin-mo as the king was announced in December 2007.

The budget for A Frozen Flower was $10 million, and the film went into production on 16 April 2008. It was the first film to shoot at the newly built Jeonju Cinema Studio.

1] Study leave, it stated very clearly that if i'm utilising my study leave, i will be bond with the company for 3 years. Is it widely practised in malaysian firms? I've been granted 2 weeks btw.

2] What's the normal working hours period for jobs? Is it 8 hours or 10 hours? or 9 hours? Normally we say 8am-5pm (8 hours)

I have some interesting questions in my mind now at 6:31AM now...

Do you know what's money in today's context?

We used to trades in golds and silvers, because they're limited resources.

But now we're not, we will be having infinite resources as we print out more and more money.

As long as money is keep on printing, our country basically can acquire as many resources as possible from the other country.

While the other country, will be selling their resources to something that's worthless?

In other word, you get something for 'nothing'?

Any other person/expert mind to give me some explanation?

Rent vs Buy a Home

In accounting terms, your home is an asset. You can sell it, pay off the loan and selling costs, and keeps the proceeds for investment or living expenses.
For investment purposes, it is normally excluded because you need someplace to live and most are unable to just sell immediately to go into an investment. You can draw on the equity to invest (although that's a lot harder for many now.)

The reason why Kiyosaki considers your primary residence a liability is the foregone opportunities of investing in rental property and elsewhere. His dad, the state superintendent of Hawaii, kept buying bigger houses but never had time for his son. Bigger mortgages meant more demanding jobs. His friend's dad, had a lot more free time on his hands and was a successful real estate investor whose assets worked for him.

It's very clear that no one would buy a liability knowingly. Residential properties do have value. The land cost is based on the median incomes in the area and the general ease of getting a loan. The building cost is materials and labor.

So residential real estate to an occupant, whether they own or rent, is really based on their value as an employee, or based on the amount of income they can set aside for living expenses in a self-employed, business or investor capacity.

Gurus like David Bach and Robert Kiyosaki profess the best way to get rich is real estate (while their net work continues to increase through the sale of books and seminars). But what good is increased equity in the house if the only way you can use that money is to sell the house (downsize) or tap into its equity through a loan or a line of credit, effectively costing you your gains in interest?

Dana Dratch from Bankrate.com is approaching this subject in her article, Ballooning Equity Doesn't Make You Rich. Dratch says the increase of net worth from an appreciating asset like a house only exists on paper. So a house is an asset, and is included on personal net worth statements, but not all dollars are created equal. It's undeniable that $500,000 in the bank is better (or more useful) than $500,000 trapped in the value of a home. On a financial statement those figures are treated equally.

The article quotes a professor emeritus and author: The right mind-set is to look at your house not as an asset, but as a liability, until you're finally going to sell it and drastically change your living style. Obvisouly a house, something you have, is an asset, but the argument is by treating it as a liability. This way as your house's value increases over time, you're not lured into changing your lifestyle.

[addedon]March 30, 2008, 1:09 am[/addedon]In most cases, it's better to buy a home than to rent. But not in every case. Comparing buying to renting is actually a fairly complicated endeavor. Fortunately we can give you some quick rules of thumb. You should usually buy instead of rent except when:

* You intend to move within a few years
* Your rent is very low (~ 2/3 or less of what your total monthly payments would be for buying a house, including taxes & insurance)
* You don't expect to live more than another 15 years

If you choose to rent instead of buy, you should save and invest religiously.
Building equity vs. "throwing your money away"

A big myth is that it's better to buy because by owning you're not "throwing your money away on rent". But when you buy a home you will still throw money away on things that don't build any equity. These include:

* Closing costs
* Interest on your mortgage
* Property taxes
* Property Insurance
* Private Mortgage Insurance (if your down payment is less than 20%)
* Maintenance

In fact, these "throwaway" expenses are more than you'd likely spend on rent. If the only financial advantage to buying a home were building equity, it wouldn't be enough to offset these expenses, and it would be better to rent. The reason that buying is usually better than renting is not because you avoid throwing money away, it's because:

* You lock in your monthly payment for 15 or 30 years. (If you kept renting you'd pay more each year.)
* Your house gets more valuable over time.

Freezing your monthly payments is where the real benefit is. Were it not for this, for many people it would make more sense to rent. This is the gem that makes home-buying worthwhile.

There are a couple of other advantages to buying:

* You can stop making payments when the loan is paid off.

This is a big advantage, but it doesn't get your costs down to zero. You will still pay for taxes, insurance, and maintenance even after your loan is paid off. On a home worth $180,000 that could be around $525/mo. Sure, that's better than the $1000/mo. you could be spending on rent, but it's not free.

* You can deduct mortgage interest on your income taxes.

Well, 1st of all, I know the main point lowyat.net created is not to serve as trading platform. However, it's just so unavoidable, because some of the members here able to get good prices for new products or even get products not available at local market. However, recently moderator is aggresively monitoring the thread in bulk section and garage sales to make sure the members follow rules set in bulk section. So i'm now suggesting a solution for all of us with the purpose, easy for the seller and buyer to seggregate themselves the different.

I'm suggesting if we could have 3 subforum in the trading. With
Bulk Section - which handling things unavailable with the seller, but bulk to get good prices.
Trading Section - which handling things available with the seller, no need to bulk nor any MOQ available.
2nd hand section - which deals with the second hand things which unnecessary for some users but would like to trade them to gain a few penny. (This is going to replace current garage sales)

How's that suggestion? Any comments? The name of the section maybe change to other that have better wording tho... Any one have better idea? Please contribute, this is our community afterall

Problem description:

I'm looking for any person have any old firmware with this D-link 504T? After flashing it to new version, i'm no longer can connect to the internet. I tried with AU, RU, NZ version, still i'm unable to connect.

I've set 0/35 and everything necessary, just the line status : Connecting.. and forever like that...

[WTA] How to transfer file faster through WLAN?

I've a router modem which support both wireless and wired Lan. Now i've a problem to file share between wireless client with my wired client. Both of the client can't see each other even though workgroup are configured same. Is there any workaround for this problem?
