in june when the fuel hike of RM0.78 per litre was mentioned it was selling at USD130. now it's USD125.44.
http://www.oil-price.net/

singapore increased their pump price on 24th June by 7cents when it went to USD145... but reduce by 4-5sen when it came down to USD140

when is our pump price going to reduce?

Pak Lah mentioned that pump price will follow the market price if the price go down.

New petrol price facts

anyone remember seeing RM2.704 on the fuel pump... PM announced the fuel suppose to be RM2.70/L NOT RM2.704/L

so in radio news today the extra 0.004 is from the tax calculation by Bank Negara which they didn't round off!.. wait a minute, TAX!? i thought our fuel was subsidised! there can't be tax and subsidy together!!! so if RM2.70 fuel is taxed fuel, meaning the costs is WAY lower! and sales at RM2.70/L will actually profiting the government!!!!

Lets boycott PETRONAS!!! LETS DO OUR BID TO ATTACK THE GOVERNMENT WHERE IT HURTS THE MOST.

Rear windows Shades

It's JPJ regulation to maintain at least 70% VLT on rear and front windscreen.. but i've seen many people put up shades on the rear windscreen. on few occasion almost cause me banged into their rear due to their faulty braking lights.. with the shades, i cannot see the traffic ahead, as the shades block more than 80% of vlt...

any advise about this? as last year, my friend's company van was sued because he loaded the van to the max, causing the visibility of the rear windscreen was fully blocked. but i don't see any normal vehicle drivers affected by this.

in that case, why enforce minimum VLT when drivers can just block the windows with shades?

Petrol Discussion

Off all the hype about petrol hike, i just wanna discuss few things here... no flaming what so ever. this is when i saw the NST from last friday made me realise something. Crude oil price Soar to USD100 (RM329). our conversion rate is just RM3.29 = USD1.

but just 2 years ago, our malaysian currency are pegged to RM3.80=USD1... which means the current value of 1 barrel (159L) crude oil would just costs RM329/RM3.80 = USD86.58. The paper cite that there are few things that cause the price to soar, one of them is the USD currency weakens as inflation in US soars.

i don't see the panic of crude oil going to USD100 anymore, just government blinding us with it. heck we might be buying for the same now as to 2006 when the price lingers around USD80+. and a 100 years oil price shows with together with the buying power of USD100. in the 80s, the price went up to USD100, but at that time the value of USD100 (2007) is the same as USD40 (80s). that means the value of USD in the 80s is 250% larger than USD100 now. comparing the effect, the petrol price NEEDS to reach USD250 per barrel for the effect to be the same as in the 80s during the petrol price hike.

that is global issue... now to local.. before we forget, we're promised in 2007 that we will have Euro 2 petrols. from paultan's review (http://paultan.org/archives/2007/02/25/analyzing-fuel-quality-in-malaysia-3-out-of-6-already-euro-ii-compliant-for-petrol/ ) it shows that most of our fuel are Euro 2 compliant... BUT WHICH? now we need the FULL EURO 2 compliant petrols in Malaysia before Government can increase the price of petrol.

This thread is purely for discussion to gather more information about our Malaysian Petrol.
